Gertrude Velma Bruner
The memorial service for Gertrude Velma Bruner will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Highway 62 and Lynn Road, Eagle Point. Ken Williams of the LDS Church, White City Ward will officiate.
Mrs. Bruner, 93, of White City, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 1999) at her home.
She was born Gertrude Petty on Sept. 8, 1905, in Villisca, Iowa.
On Sept. 2, 1921, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, she married William Bruner, who died in 1985.
Mrs. Bruner moved to White City in 1990 from Butte Falls.
She was a member of the LDS Church, White City Ward.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Whitlock, White City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother; six sisters; and a grandson.

Orville F. Taylor
The memorial service for Orville F. Taylor will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Local 290 Union Hall, Salem. Interment will be in the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
Mr. Taylor, 78, formerly of Grants Pass, died Jan. 20, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Portland. His home was in Salem.
He was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Tracy, Minn.
He graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1937.
During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy submarine service.
Mr. Taylor owned and operated Oregon Refrigeration from 1946 to 1950, working with dairymen. In 1950 he moved to Salem, where he worked in the refrigeration business.
On April 19, 1985, in Reno, he married Beverly Jackson, who survives. Taylor was an Eagle Scout. He was member of Pipe Fitters Local 290, Submarine Veterans of World War II and the American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Paul, Sandy, and Bruce, Salem; a daughter, Sarah Brobst, Pleasanton, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Kerri Willett, Detroit, Jeanne Hills, Spanaway, Wash., and Dawn Prangley, Roundup, Mont.; three brothers, James and Vernon, both Silverton, and Doran, Grants Pass; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nine step-grandchildren.

Hazel M. Hanley
The funeral service for Hazel McEwen Hanley is Thursday in the Jordan Valley High School gymnasium.
Mrs. Hanley, 86, of Jordan Valley, formerly of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 22, 1999) at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho.

She was born Hazel McEwen on Aug. 1, 1912, in Adrian. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in business, and was certified in secondary education. She also attended Eastern Oregon College at La Grande and the College of Idaho at Caldwell, Idaho.
On June 29, 1940, in Boise, Idaho, she married Michael Hanley, who preceded her in death.
The two then moved to Southern Oregon, where they owned and operated the Butte Creek Hanley Ranch near Jacksonville. The ranch was donated to the Southern Oregon Historical Society in the early 1980s to preserve memories of Southern Oregon pioneers.
The historical society offers tours of the farm.
In 1949, the family moved to a ranch in Jordan Valley. A full partner in the management of the ranch, Mrs. Hanley also taught school in Juntura, Crane, and later Jordan Valley, and traveled extensively.
Mrs. Hanley served as a volunteer with the Coast Watch in Southern Oregon during World War II.
She was a member of the Idaho, Oregon and National Cattlemen's and Cattlewomen's Associations, and was a life member of the Owyhee Cattlemen's Association.
Mrs. Hanley was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jordan Valley.
Survivors include a son, Michael, Jordan Valley, and two daughters, Suzanne Davis, Anderson, Calif., and Alice Armstrong, Prineville; a sister, Charlotte Gates; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

William Dale Hensel
William Dale Hensel, 62, of Grants Pass, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) at his home. The memorial service will be held later.
He was born June 28, 1936, in Eureka, Calif.
On Nov. 9, 1976, in Reno, Nev., he married Ella Lincoln, who survives. He moved to the Grants Pass area from Washington in 1976.
Mr. Hensel had been a logger, a certified nurse's assistant, and for the last 12 years was a milker for Jim and Patty Robinson in Grants Pass.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Hensel was a member of the American Legion and the Catholic Church.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and was known in the area as the "Eel Man of Savage Rapids."
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five daughters, Wanda Sauer, Grants Pass, Laura Fisher, Reno, Nev., Elizabeth Hensel, in West Virginia, Felisia Arden and Meredith Murdock, both of Mount Vernon, Wash.; a son, Dan Elder, Mount Vernon; a stepson, William Dickson, Portland; two stepdaughters, Donna Pierce, Grants Pass, and Denise Meyer, Medford; a brother, John "Jack", Terra Bella, Calif.; a sister, Grace Anderson, Redding, Calif.; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, D.D. Martin; and two sons, Bobby and Terry.

Deborah M. Hummel
The memorial service for Deborah Miriam Hummel will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3822 Crater Lake Ave., Medford. Gerald Hajek will officiate.
Mrs. Hummel, 90, of White City, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) at her home.
She was born Deborah Miriam Flanders on March 22, 1908, in Pasadena, Calif.
On Jan. 6, 1943, in Salem, she married Elmer Hummel, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Sparks, Nev., in 1973.
Mrs. Hummel was very active in her church.
She was an avid doll collector, and enjoyed working in her garden, canvas painting and puzzles.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, James, White City, Samuel, Tacoma, Wash., Joseph, in Minnesota, and Jonathan, Santa Cruz, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Olsen.

Helen O. Isenberg
The memorial service for Helen Odesa Isenberg will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the home of her son, Ken White, in Central Point. Bill Jones will officiate.
Mrs. Isenberg, 66, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Jan. 26, 1999) at her home.

She was born Helen Odesa Woodard on Feb. 29, 1932, in Stigler, Okla.
In 1990, in Pittsburg, Calif., she married John Isenberg, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1985.
Mrs. Isenberg was a dispatcher with a private security firm.
She enjoyed bingo, fishing and travel.
Survivors include two sons, Ken and Jess, both of Central Point; her father, Jess Woodard, Central Point; two brothers, Jess Woodard Jr., Medford, and Von Woodard, Scotia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Victor F. Puccetti
The graveside service for Victor F. Puccetti will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery, 2763 Riley Road, Eagle Point.
The memorial Mass Mr. Puccetti will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Church, Jacksonville.
The Rev. Shirey of the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary will officiate.
Mr. Puccetti, 74, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1999) at his home.

He was born July 17, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
On Sept. 26, 1950, in Biloxi, Miss., he married Helen Wise, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley from Torrance, Calif. in 1964.
Mr. Puccetti served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952, and saw active duty during the Korean War.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Catherine Gooley, Suffolk, Va., and Patricia Donahoe, Chatham, N.J.; a sister, Emma Liberatore, Pittsburgh; a brother, Peter, Pittsburgh; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew; and a sister, Rita Puccetti.

Judith A. Hunter
The memorial service for Judith A. Hunter will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Meeker Chapel in the First United Methodist Church of Medford, 607 W. Main St. The Rev. James H. Sewell of the First United Methodist Church, Nashville, Tenn., will officiate.
Mrs. Hunter, 61, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) at Hearthstone.
She was born Judith A. Wirtanen on May 2, 1937, in Burlington, Vt.
On April 2, 1964, in Arlington, Va., she married Raymond E. Hunter, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley two years ago from Stanwood, Wash.
Mrs. Hunter enjoyed reading and spent many hours doing cross-stitch needlework.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Laura Blackmon, Dublin, Calif., and Sharon MacLeod, Berkeley, Calif.; a son, David, Oakley, Calif.; and one grandchild.
