JoAnn Arms
1939-2003
JoAnn Arms, a 38-year resident of Cottage Grove, died Nov. 19 of cancer at the age of 64.
Arms was born June 8, 1939, in Young Harris, Ga., to Willie and Amanda Fleming Green.
She married Jack Arms in Georgia on Jan. 4, 1958. He died Nov. 17, 2000.
She was a homemaker and she worked for Senior Services for many years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed gardening and designing floral arrangements.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Arms of Pleasant Hill and Sharon Arms of Bend; a son, Steven of Cottage Grove; two brothers, Bob and Medford Green, both of Murphy, N.C.; a sister, Janelle Barnett of Murphy; and one grandchild.
A memorial service was held Nov. 25 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cottage Grove.
Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel of Cottage Grove was in charge of arrangements.
Private burial was at Owl Creek Baptist Church Courtyard Cemetery in Murphy.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Sacred Heart or to the American Cancer Society.
Curtis Jackson Streeter
1944-2003
Curtis Jackson Streeter, a 40-year resident of Creswell, died Nov. 12 of heart-related causes at the age of 59.
Streeter was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Sheridan, Mo., to Charles and Madolin Jackson Streeter.
He graduated from high school before moving to Oregon in the early 1960s.
He graduated from the University of Oregon.
He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his friends.
A memorial service was held Nov. 17 at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at Sheridan Cemetery in Missouri.

Curtis Jackson Streeter

Curtis Jackson Streeter, a 40-year resident of Creswell, died Nov. 12, 2003 of heart-related causes at the age of 59.
Alvin Schmidt
1930-2003
Alvin Daniel Schmidt, 73, of Cottage Grove, died Nov. 18, 2003 from complications due to a stroke.
Phylis Ciochetti
1922-2004
Phylis Ciochetti, a 56-year Cottage Grove resident, died March 3 at the age of 82 from pulmonary fibrosis.
She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Lisbon, N.D., to Lawrence and Florence Carlisle.
She moved with her family to Eugene in 1930, where she grew up and attended school.
She graduated from Eugene High School in 1940.
She married Wallace "Chick" Ciochetti in Eugene Nov. 21, 1943, after meeting him through the U.S. Signal Corps, where she worked during World War II.
The couple moved to Cottage Grove in 1948.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
She was an active member of her community, working with the American Cancer Society and Alzheimer's support groups.
As a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder, a deacon and a wedding planning hostess for many years.
She was also active in the PTA, Welcome Wagon and Girl Scouts.
Survivors include her daughter: Candi Ciochetti of Kirkland, Wash.; sons: David Ciochetti of Portland and Tony Ciochetti of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandson: Nicholas of Portland; and sister: Joy Bixby of Eugene.
A service was held Sunday at First Presbyterian Church in Cottage Grove.
A private cremation was under the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.

Clara Crofford
1924-2004
Clara Dorothy Crofford, a 60-year resident of Cottage Grove, died Feb. 26 at the age of 80 from age-related causes.
She was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Leonard and Dora Noll.
She married James Whitted.
He died in 1961.
She later married Robert Crofford. He died in 1995.
She was a homemaker and worked as a CNA at Creswell Care Center for a short period of time.
She was a 4-H leader and raised horses, goats and rabbits with the organization.
She attended Catholic Church.
Her daughter, Gail Coop, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons: David Whitted and Alan Whitted of Cottage Grove; daughter: Patricia Raby of Dixon, Mo.; brother: Lee Noll of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
A private cremation was held. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
