Neil Morton Arant

Memorial service from Neil Morton Arant will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Joyce DeGraaff, of First Presbyterian Church, Medford, will officiate.

Mr. Arant, 73, of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) at the Roseburg Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 85 S. Holly St., Medford, OR 97501, or the Alzheimer's Association Oregon Chapter, 1311 N.W. 21st Ave., Portland, OR 97209.

Mr. Arant was born March 3, 1925, in Klamath Falls.

On Sept. 17, 1949, in Medford, he married Joan Coleman, who survives.

The couple lived in Albany for 30 years before returning to Medford.

Mr. Arant was a financial planner. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed golf, music -- especially guitar and violin -- gardening and his church.

Survivors include a son, Bill, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a daughter, Dianne McCann, LeMesa, Calif.; and a brother, Don, Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by a brother, Blaine, and sisters Lucille Arant and Pearl Prinsen.

Clifford Norris

Clifford Wayne Norris, 68, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service will be held, and burial will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Norris was born July 28, 1930, in Atlanta, Ill.

On May 19, 1950, in Yreka, Calif., he married Donna Meadows, who survives.

He lived in the Rogue Valley for 57 years.

Mr. Norris worked for several local natural gas companies: Domestic Gas, Van Gas and Suburban Gas.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1949.

He was a member of the First Church of God. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Survivors include sons Terry, Jacksonville, Randy, Medford, and Eric, Central Point; a daughter, Lori Mills, Tacoma, Wash.; his mother, Flora Clark, Medford; his step-mother, Minnie Norris, Murrieta, Calif.; sisters Florine Myers, Medford, and Wanda Schauers, Show Low, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Norris, in 1981, and step-father, George Clark, in 1991.

Wendy S. Hough Irvine

The memorial service for Wendy S. Hough Irvine will be held Tuesday in Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland.

Mrs. Irvine, 35, formerly of Medford, died Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) of cancer at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Portland. Her home was in Wilsonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to C.A.T.S., 104 N. Ross Lane, Medford, OR 97501 or Washington Park Zoo, 4001 S.W. Canyon Road, Portland, OR 97221.

She was born Wendy Hough on Feb. 8, 1963, in McMinnville. The family moved to the Rogue Valley when she was 4 months old.

Mrs. Irvine was a 1981 graduate of Medford Senior High School.

She moved to Alaska in 1983, then settled in the Portland area in 1986.

On July 9, 1988, in Portland, she married Todd Irvine, who survives.

Mrs. Irvine worked for Hot Off The Press, a publishing company in Canby.

She was a volunteer for Committed Alliance to Strays (C.A.T.S.) and the Washington Park Zoo, and enjoyed her cats, Tom and Jeri.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her father and stepmother, Gerald and Joanne Hough, Talent; her mother, Bobbie Meyer, Medford; a brother, Randall Hough, Milton, Wash.; a half-brother, Greg Hunt, in the U.S. Navy; and her grandmother, Isabelle "Betty" Ogden, Medford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted Haug, Ruth Haug, and Earl Ogden.

Arrangements: Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes.

Dennis George Fowler

The funeral for Dennis George Fowler will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mr. Fowler, 79, of Medford, died Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born March 5, 1919, in Wewoka, Okla.

On Nov. 1, 1942, in Las Vegas, he married Maxine Lasiter, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley two years ago from Rancho Cordova, Calif.

During a 23-year career in the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Fowler served in World War II and the Korean War. He retired a senior master sergeant in 1962.

Mr. Fowler was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Larry, Jacksonville; a daughter, Deanna Gail Waugh, Medford; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A sister, Loretta Villarial, preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Eula Mae Lasiter

The memorial service for Eula Mae Lasiter will be at 3 p.m. today at White City Assembly of God. Pastor Sam Swanson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.

Mrs. Lasiter, 79, of White City, died Thursday (Jan. 28, 1999) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Eula Mae Hearidge on April 26, 1919, in Arkansas.

On Oct. 30, 1941, in Arkansas, she married James E. Lasiter, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lasiter moved to the Rogue Valley 27 years ago from Southern California.

She worked at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary in White City before retiring in 1985.

Mrs. Lasiter was a member of White City Assembly of God.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally Walker, White City; a son, Harvey Leon, White City; three brothers, Andrew Hearidge, Wenatchee, Wash., Troy Hearidge, Fullerton, Calif., and Lloyd Hearidge, Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters, Lois Mair, Big Bear City, Calif., and Lilly Anne McFarland, Sun City, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Lasiter, Juanita Couch and Callie Hankins; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Evelyn Elizabeth Clark

The memorial service for Evelyn Elizabeth Clark will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2617 Barnett Road, Medford. Officiating will be the Revs. Jeff Holder and Jim Long of First Christian Church and the Rev. Robert L. Larson of Ascension Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mrs. Clark, 83, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Christian College, Hal and Evelyn Clark Scholarship Fund, 828 E. 11th Ave., Eugene, OR 97401.

She was born Evelyn Ward on Nov. 19, 1915, in Kerwin, Kan.

On May 27, 1935, in Phillipsburg, Kan., she married William Halden Clark, who preceded her in death.

The Clarks lived in Bakersfield, Calif., for 40 years before moving to the Rogue Valley 16 years ago.

Mrs. Clark was a member of First Christian Church in Medford and Bakersfield.

She was an artist, working in pastels, watercolors and oils.

She enjoyed music and the arts, cooking and sewing.

Survivors include two sons, Bill, Medford, and Jim, Greeley, Colo.; a daughter, Marilyn Hutchins, Medford; a brother, Ernest E. Ward, Bakersfield; a sister, Nina Catherine Easley, Bakersfield; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A brother, Kenneth T. Ward, preceded her in death.

Friends may pay their respects from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.

Everett L. Mitchell

Everett Lawrence Mitchell, 60, of White City, died Sunday (Jan. 24, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A memorial service and inurnment will be held later in Galesburg, Ill.

He was born Oct. 19, 1938, in Galesburg.

Mr. Mitchell served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964.

He was a firefighter for the Santa Barbara, Calif., County Fire Department.

Mr. Mitchell enjoyed bowling, fishing and driving his car.

Survivors include two sons, Frank, Manassas, Va., and Curt, Ojai, Calif.; a daughter, Julie Allen, Ventura, Calif.; six sisters, Dorcus, Ellen, Betty, Delia, Shirley and Anna; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lee and Charles Edward; and a sister, Reva Blanche Lidle.

William H. Boekenoogen

William Henry Boekenoogen, 81, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Jan. 26, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Private interment will be in the family mausoleum at Oak Hill Cemetery, San Jose, Calif.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Donor Program, P.O. Box 532, Portland, OR 97207.

He was born Aug. 4, 1917, in Gonzales, Calif., and grew up on a working cattle ranch in California.

On June 17, 1942, in Seattle, he married Velma Lee Baldwin, who survives.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps on Okinawa and in China.

For many years he was the horse show announcer for the Santa Cruz County Fair in Watsonville, Calif.

Mr. Boekenoogen was president of the Central Coast Counties Quarter Horse Association and in recent years raised quarter horses, racing them at tracks throughout the Pacific Northwest. He also raised paint horses.

In 1972, he moved to Ashland, where he worked for 13 years at Provost Furniture Store. Upon retirement he enjoyed devoting more time to improving the bloodlines of his paint horses and raising their foals.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Bill Jr., Ashland, and Michael, Medford; a daughter, Nancy Copeland, Longmont, Colo.; a brother, Ken, Gonzales; a sister, Virginia Beasley, Hereford, Texas; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
