Marie Leffmann
Marie Leffmann, 95, of Rogue River, died Tuesday (Jan. 26, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford. Private entombment was in Turlock, Calif., Memorial Park.
She was born Marie Vignalou on Oct. 16, 1903, in France.
She was a registered electrologist before her retirement.
In 1995, she moved to the Rogue Valley from Berkeley, Calif.
Her hobbies included reading, music and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Harry, Rogue River; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Jane Carlton Work
Jane Carlton Work, 83, of Ashland, died Thursday (Jan. 28, 1999) at her home. Inurnment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.

She was born March 5, 1915, in Central Point, a daughter of John and Bessie Brown Carlton.
On Sept. 3, 1946, in Ashland, she married Robert A. Work, who died in 1990. They moved to Portland in 1952 from Ashland, then returned to Ashland in 1965.
Mrs. Work was a secretary at Southern Oregon State College.
She was a life member of A.C.B.L., life master 1970.
Survivors include two sons, James R., Ashland, and David C., Cottage Grove; a stepdaughter, Beverly Williams, Pacific Grove; two stepsons, Bob, Lake Almanor, Calif., and Lew, Boise Idaho; two sisters, Gertrude Woods, Ashland, and Leila Lentz, Bakersfield, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren. A sister, Mildred Provost, preceded her in death.

Leslie Leroy Mann
The memorial service for Leslie Leroy Mann will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Central Valley Chapel, Central Point. Minister Carl Bailey of the Gold Hill Jehovah's Witnesses Congregation will officiate.
Mr. Mann, 89, of Central Point, died Thursday (Jan. 28, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
He was born April 18, 1909, in Berthold, N.D.
On Jan. 21, 1929, in Minot, N.D., he married Helen M. Cox, who died in 1994. They moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from Southern California.
Mr. Mann was an engineer for the Great Northern Railway and a final inspector for Ford Motor Co.
He was an avid bowler.
Survivors include three sons, Donald E., Gold Hill, David L., Dana Point, Calif., and Sanford L., Reno; two daughters, Judith A. Money, Chandler, Ariz., and Bessie B. Roehrig, Fountain Valley, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty L. Gieser.

William Floyd Eakin
William Floyd Eakin, 86, of Jacksonville, died Thursday (Jan. 28, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
He was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Glendale.
On Feb. 26, 1960, in Anchorage, Alaska, he married Madeline McCrary, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from Alaska.
Mr. Eakin worked in the order department of the Corps of Engineers for many years before his retirement.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

Ivan B. Otterlifter Sherk
Ivan Boyd Otterlifter Sherk, 63, of Kerby, died Jan. 23, 1999, in a motor vehicle accident in Central Point. A gathering will be held in May at Palmerton Park in Rogue River. Blackstar, Comanche spiritual leader of the Indian People, will officiate.
He was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Medford.
On July 19, 1990, in Rogue River, he married Carlean J. Ridge, who also died in the accident.
Mr. Sherk was a well-known master carver of Northwest Coast Indian art. He spent many hours demonstrating his carving skills at local schools, art shows and rendezvous.
He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during the Korean War.
Mr. Sherk was an active member of the American Mountain Man Association, teaching shooting, survival and other skills.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff, Mike and George, all in Oregon; a sister, Karlie Sherk, in Oregon; two brothers, Dick and Tom; and two grandchildren.

Eula Mae Lasiter
The memorial service for Eula Mae Lasiter will be at 3 p.m. today at White City Assembly of God. Pastor Sam Swanson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.

She was born Eula Mae Hearidge on April 26, 1919, in Arkansas.
On Oct. 30, 1941, in Arkansas, she married James E. Lasiter, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lasiter moved to the Rogue Valley 27 years ago from Southern California.
She worked at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary in White City before retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Lasiter was a member of White City Assembly of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Walker, White City; a son, James R., White City; three brothers, Andrew Hearidge, Wenatchee, Wash., Troy Hearidge, Fullerton, Calif., and Lloyd Hearidge, Garden Grove, Calif.; two sisters, Lois Mair, Big Bear City, Calif., and Lilly Anne McFarland, Sun City, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Leon; three sisters, Viola Lasiter, Juanita Couch and Callie Hankins; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Walter K. Breiholz
The funeral for Walter Kenneth Breiholz will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Conger-Morris Chapel. A private burial will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Breiholz, 79, died Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) at his home in Medford.
He was born May 31, 1919, in Holland, Minn.
Only July 18, 1947, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Ruth J. Dice, who died in 1994.
He worked for Kewitt Construction Co. in Southern California for 27 years, doing structural support.
Survivors include: a son, Michael, Eagle Point; sisters Donna Burkett, Pontiac, Ill., Betty Taylor, Cornell, Ill., and Marge, in Colorado; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son.

Mabel Smith
Mabel "Caroline" Smith, 93, of Jacksonville, died Friday (Jan. 29, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service will be held.
She was born Aug. 14, 1905, in Union County, S.D.
In May 1944, in Minneapolis, Minn., she married Hans Smith, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith moved to the Rogue Valley from Scappoose 10 years ago.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed music and playing the piano. She was an avid mountaineer. She volunteered at the senior center and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville.
Survivors include grandsons William Albrant, Bria, Calif., and Robert Albrant, Ventura, Calif.; six nephews; and one niece. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Diane Lehnert, and a brother, Walter Olson.
