George S. Nelson
The memorial service for George S. Nelson will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Jackson House, 300 Suncrest Road, Talent. Pastor Mark Anderson of Mountain View Baptist Church in Talent will officiate. Inurnment will be in Stearns Cemetery in Talent.
Mr. Nelson, 77, of Talent, died Tuesday (Feb. 2, 1999) at Ashland Community Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1921, in Skane, Sweden.
On Sept. 22, 1945, in Chicago, he married Dorothy Lawlor, who survives. He graduated from Wilson Junior College in Chicago in 1946. He moved to the Rogue Valley from La Crescenta, Calif. in 1980.
Mr. Nelson was an architectural draftsman with Welton Becket and Associates for 15 years. He was also a draftsman and designer for the Dorothy Chandler Music Center in Los Angeles for seven years, and with Disneyland, Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland for 15 years. He was the first draftsman to be recognized by the American Institute of Architects.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Nelson enjoyed carpentry, cartooning and long walks.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Mark G., Talent, Eric L., Klamath Falls, and Lee R., La Crescenta, Calif.; a sister, Lilly C. Hanold, Chicago; and two grandchildren.

Sanda Kronenberger
Sanda Lou Kronenberger, 50, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Feb. 3, 1999) at her home. A private service will be held.
She was born Sandra Lou Cleveland on Feb. 6, 1948, in The Dalles.
On Aug. 26, 1967, in Oregon City, she married John William Kronenberger, who survives. She was a native Oregonian.
Mrs. Kronenberger was environmental services manager with Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Joe, Central Point; two daughters, Ann Potter, Phoenix, and Patsy Forte, Central Point; a brother, Forest Cleveland, Canyonville; two sisters, Diane Reed, Central Point, and Kathy Morgan, Glendale; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruby Cleveland.

Merle `Pink' O'Connor
The memorial service for Merle W. "Pink" O'Connor will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary Theatre in White City. The Rev. Jim Clifford of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point will officiate.
Mr. O'Connor, 79, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Feb. 3, 1999) in Medford.

He was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Phoenix, a son of Jack and Cecil O'Connor. He lived in the Rogue Valley all of his life.
On Sept. 11, 1950, in Virginia City, Nev., he married Dorothy Jane White, who survives.
Mr. O'Connor was employed in various capacities in transportation and manufacturing in the Rogue Valley.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. O'Connor was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America, and the V.A.V.S., where he was in charge of the "Poppy" program at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary. He was also a member of the Central Point VFW Post 5726, the Ashland Elks Lodge, and the Medford Bowling Association, where he belonged to the Hall of Fame.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Dennis, Prospect; five daughters, Larinda O'Connor, Medford, Maureen Rose Alexander, Central Point, Cathy Landeros, Eagle Point, Mardell O'Connor, Gold Hill, and Dana O'Connor, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, his twin, Marion "Blue," Bakersfield, Calif., and Ray, Delta, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Warren.

Pauline Coltrane
The memorial service for Pauline Coltrane will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Brookings. Kevin Johns will officiate. The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens in Medford.
Mrs. Coltrane, 81, of Brookings, formerly of Medford, died Wednesday (Feb. 3, 1999) at her home.
She was born Pauline Varner on Dec. 7, 1917, in Grants Pass, a daughter of Joseph and Maude Varner.
On Jan. 12, 1944, in Medford, she married Donald W. Coltrane, who survives. They lived in Roseburg for five years and then in Medford for 24 years. In 1980, they retired to Brookings.
Mrs. Coltrane worked part time for Harry and David for several years. She also worked at Lee Wilkes accounting firm. She spent many years working in the PTA, and held the office of PTA president.
She was active in the LDS Church, and held many different callings, including Primary President.
Mrs. Coltrane enjoyed square dancing, ceramics and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Beckie Rabbe, Medford, and Jill Sander, Meridian, Idaho; a son, Donald L., Houston, Texas; a sister, Ruby Clements, Medford; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth; and nine brothers, Elmer, Richard, Roy, Linny, Walt, Ray, George, Louis and Jim Varner.
Friends may pay their respects at 10 a.m. Monday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brookings.

`Frank' Monte Peterson
The memorial service for Francis "Frank" Monte Peterson will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Logtown Cemetery in Ruch.
Mr. Peterson, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (Feb. 3, 1999) at his home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1913, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
On Oct. 29, 1934, in Vancouver, Wash., he married Marion Blaine, who died in 1988. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Pocatello, Idaho in 1933.
Mr. Peterson was employed as an auto mechanic with Walt Abby Motors and later with Skinner Buick. In 1945, he started his own business, retiring in 1978.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making wooden puzzles.
Survivors include two sons, Clinton M., Boring, and Dr. Glen F., Arvada, Colo.; two brothers, Merrill, Los Angeles, and Jerrald, Missouri; and a sister, Dorothy Knoblich, Pocatello, Idaho.

Ella Mae Nelson
The memorial service for Ella Mae Nelson will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church, 174 N. Main St., Ashland. The Rev. Mary Stevens will officiate.
Ms. Nelson, 35, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Feb. 2, 1999) at her home.

She was born on May 20, 1963, in Miles City, Mont. She moved to the Rogue Valley four years ago from Salida, Colo.
Ms. Nelson was a licensed practical nurse at Linda Vista Care Center.
She enjoyed flowers, cooking and helping the elderly.
Survivors include her companion, Bob Haney, Ashland; her mother, Gertrude Nelson, Alamosa, Colo.; and a sister, Deborah Bevington, Alamosa, Colo.

Jack F. Ganfield
Jack Freeman Ganfield, 80, of Seattle, formerly of Medford, died Jan. 20, 1999, in Seattle. A celebration of life was held in Seattle.

He was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Richmond, Mich. He lived in the Rogue Valley from 1920 until 1934, and attended McLaughlin Middle School. He moved to Seattle at the age of 14 and graduated from Seattle Pacific High School.
In March 1942, in San Francisco, he married Marie Vollen, who survives.
Mr. Ganfield graduated with honors from Seattle Pacific College with a degree in education in 1938. He received his doctorate in education from the University of Washington.
Mr. Ganfield was a teacher with the Seattle Public Schools until he retired in 1975.
He served in the Army in the Pacific Arena during World War II. He retired from the Army Reserve with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Mr. Ganfield enjoyed traveling, reading, carpentry and gardening. He also assisted his wife with "rosemaling," a type of Norwegian painting.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Daniel, Seattle; a daughter, Kathryn Rickert, Seattle; two sisters, Barbara Graham, Phoenix, and Isabelle Plane, Medford; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James.

Myron Samuel Levy
The funeral service for Myron Samuel Levy will be at 1 p.m. today in Lundberg L.B. Hall Funeral Chapel in Grants Pass. Russ Salmans will officiate.
Mr. Levy, 90, of Gold Hill, died Monday (Feb. 1, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford.
He was born April 27, 1908, in Los Angeles.
In October 1985, in Reno, Nev., he married Ethelyn Grace, who survives. He moved to Southern Oregon in 1984 from Sanger, Calif.
Mr. Levy was a teacher with Compton Union High School District in Compton, Calif., from 1958 until 1971. He also worked as a maintenance man in the school for many years.
He received a master's degree from Oregon State University after he retired from teaching in 1971.
Mr. Levy was a member of the National Guard, 160th Infantry, in California.
He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Rogue River and belonged to the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Marianne Paine, Fernley, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Gloria Bowker, Gold Hill; three brothers, Paul Levy, Yucaipa, Calif., Ernest Williams, Oxnard, Calif., and Edmond Williams, Wasco, Calif.; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
