Kevin Lee Gentry
The graveside service for Kevin Lee Gentry will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Siskiyou Memorial Park. The Rev. Stan Johnson of West Main Church of Christ will officiate.
Mr. Gentry, 37, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Medford, died Monday (Feb. 15, 1999) at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1962, in Boise. He attended schools in Medford, Bellevue, Wash., and Pocatello, Idaho.
Mr. Gentry was a tree trimmer for the Asplundh Tree Company. Throughout his life he worked in construction and landscaping. His work also took him to Alaska for commercial fishing.
He enjoyed the outdoors, his dog, fishing and golfing with his father.
Mr. Gentry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Kenneth L. and Martha Gentry, Medford; his mother and stepfather, Datus and Carolyn E. Eck, of Providence, Utah; a brother, Kenneth R., Medford; four stepbrothers, Danny, Gary and Tim Anderson, all Medford, and Joe Anderson, Los Angeles; and a grandmother, Elizabeth Henry, Boise, Idaho.

Fred V. Simcox
The memorial service for Fred V. Simcox will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rogue Valley Christian Church, Medford. The Rev. Jim Long will officiate.
Mr. Simcox, 80, of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 16, 1990) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Wichita, Kan.
On Sept. 21, 1941, in Cassville, Mo., he married Jackie Cook, who survives. In 1945, his family moved to Medford.
Mr. Simcox worked for Pierce Freight Lines in Medford for 27 years, retiring in 1981.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
After retirement, he divided his time between Mesa, Ariz., and Medford. While in Mesa, Mr. Simcox was a shortstop for a senior men's softball team that won several league championships. He was also the All Mesa Park champion pool player for five years and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Nancy Smith, Medford, and Karen Dean, Keizer; a sister, Lois Wagner, South Dakota; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. A sister, Clover, preceded him in death.

Jennifer A. Anderson
Jennifer Alley Anderson, 38, of Harbor Springs, Mich., formerly of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 16, 1999) in Detroit. A private service will be held.
She was born Jennifer Alley on Dec. 30, 1960, in Santa Monica, Calif. After moving to Medford with her family, she attended the West Side School and St. Mary's School.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Center at Detroit Medical Center, 110 E. Warren, Detroit, Mich.
Survivors include her husband, David, Harbor Springs, Mich.; her parents, Bob and Pat Alley, Medford; and three brothers.

Elsie Mary Priest Scott
Elsie Mary Priest Scott, 86, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Feb. 16, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
She was born Elsie Mary Priest on Sept. 16, 1912, in Bushnell, Ill.
In 1930, in Hot Springs, Ark., she married Dan J. Scott, who died in 1985. She moved to the Rogue Valley from California 53 years ago.
Mrs. Scott was an artist.
She was a member of the Forrest Acres Church.
She enjoyed gardening and dogs.
Survivors include a niece, Martha Frazier, Shreveport, La.

Lois Mildred Callon
Lois Mildred Callon, 87, of Eagle Point, died Monday (Feb. 15, 1999) at Farmington Square in Medford. No service is planned.

She was born Lois Mildred McCallister on Dec. 10, 1911, in Indianapolis.
On Nov. 23, 1932, in Indianapolis, she married Milton Callon, who died in 1973. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Denver in 1998.
Mrs. Callon was a shoe store manager.
She was a member of Pilot International and Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
Mrs. Callon enjoyed playing bridge.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy L. Leonard, Eagle Point; a son, James Michael, Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Floyd `Toby' Pierce
The funeral service for Floyd "Toby" Pierce will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hope Lutheran Church, 2830 May Road, El Sobrante, Calif. Interment will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Richmond.
Mr. Pierce, 57, of Phoenix, died Sunday (Feb. 14, 1999) at his son's home in Hercules, Calif.
He was born April 23, 1941, in Lodi, Calif., and grew up in Richmond. He lived in the Rogue Valley for 20 years.
Mr. Pierce was a process plant operator for Dyno for 17 years and a truck driver for two years.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Kahangi, Hercules, Calif.; a son, Steven, Hercules; a brother, Roy, San Pablo, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Sarah Louis Steele
The funeral service for Sarah Louise Steele will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Harvest Baptist Church, Medford. The Rev. Bob Gass of Harvest Baptist Church will officiate.
Ms. Steele, 37, of Medford, died Monday (Feb. 15, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She had been on dialysis for the past five years.

She was born on Sept. 30, 1961, in Sacramento, Calif. She grew up in the Rogue Valley, attending school in Ashland. She moved back to the Rogue Valley from Alaska in 1989.
She was a restaurant and retirement home cook.
She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, photography and animals.
Survivors include her parents, Michael and Nancy Steele, Medford; two sisters, Regan Dailey, Talent, and Jody Steele-Thomasson, Eugene; and her grandfather, W.C. Woods, Medford.
Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Harvest Baptist Church.

Arnold Jimmy Eastman
The graveside service for Arnold Jimmy Eastman will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Joseph Zimmer of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford Second Ward, will officiate.
Mr. Eastman, 64, of Ogden, Utah, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 16, 1999) in Ogden.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1934, in Ogden. He spent his summers in Medford.
Mr. Eastman was a cement finisher.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Eastman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Stalcup, Medford; and three brothers, Richard, George and Wayne, all of Ogden.

Alan S. Markee
The memorial service for Alan S. Markee, M.D., will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Portland.
Dr. Markee, 71, of Portland, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (Feb. 13, 1999) at his home.

He was born May 23, 1927, in Corvallis. He lived in the Rogue Valley from 1958 until 1995.
In 1950, he married June Wiswell. They later divorced.
On Nov. 30, 1995, he married Phyllis J. Krafve, who survives.
Dr. Markee received his bachelor's degree from Oregon State University in 1950. In 1952 he received his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University. He did his internship at San Bernardino County Hospital, and his residency in radiology at Oregon Health Sciences University.
Dr. Markee was an oncology radiologist in Medford from 1958 until 1986. He was Chief of Staff at Rogue Valley Medical Center in 1967. He retired in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1956.
Dr. Markee was a diplomate of the American Radiology Board, and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, and the American College of Radiotherapy. He was a member of the Oregon Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical School Honor Society and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Oregon State University.
He enjoyed fishing and restoring automobiles.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Grier A. Markee Gaffney, Medford; two sons, Brian K., Redmond, Wash., and Dr. Blaine A., Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Kent, Lake Oswego; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his former wife, June, in 1999.
