Selma Johanna Bakken
Selma Johanna Bakken, 84, of Grants Pass, died Saturday (Feb. 20, 1999) at Royale Gardens Health Center in Grants Pass. A memorial service is planned later in Portland.
She was born Selma Johanna Jokimaki on Oct. 3, 1914, in Kettle River, Minn. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1997 from Portland.
Mrs. Bakken was a housekeeper for Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland for 10 years, retiring in 1980.
In Portland, she was a member of the Hinson Memorial Church and the Oasis Choir.
Mrs. Bakken enjoyed music and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Briody, Mount Shasta, Calif., and Rosemary Buhrmester, Washougal, Wash.; two sons, Dan Lowther, Solana Beach, Calif., and John Lowther, San Francisco; three brothers, Walter Jokimaki, Roseville, Minn., Nestor Jokimaki, Tamarack, Minn., and Richard Jokimaki, Cromwell, Minn.; two sisters, Lisa Jokimaki, Glendale, Ariz., and Florence Conklin, Forest Lake, Minn.; and six grandchildren.

Sherry H. Long
The memorial service for Sherry H. Long will be at noon Saturday at Unity Church, 48 W. Poplar, Stockton, Calif.
Mrs. Long, 78, of San Jose, Calif., formerly of Central Point, died Feb. 16, 1999, in San Jose.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
She was born Sherry Earl on Sept. 10, 1920, in Bakersfield, Calif. She studied music, sang in the church choir and played in the high school band and orchestra, where she met her husband, Robert Weaver. She attended the University of the Pacific and took courses at Delta College.
She was employed in the family dry cleaning business during World War II, and later worked in the office of the San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools.
After Robert's death, she worked in the office of a condominium complex where she met her husband, William Long. The couple moved to Central Point in 1993, returning to California in 1998.
Mrs. Long was active in the PTA, Scouts, De Molay Mothers Club, Philomathian Club and Eastern Star.
Following her retirement, the couple traveled extensively in the western United States, Canada and Mexico. She enjoyed taking walks and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Robert Weaver, Mountain View, Calif.; a daughter, Marlys Warner, Gilroy, Calif.; a sister, Hazel Pierce, Jackson, Calif.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Weaver.

Sharon Dee Stovall
The memorial service for Sharon Dee Stovall will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Highway 62 and Lynn Road, Eagle Point. Kenneth Williams of the White City Ward of the church will officiate.
Mrs. Stovall, 40, of Eagle Point, died Saturday (Feb. 20, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Sharon Dee Sepulveda on Oct. 23, 1958, in Lewiston, Calif.
On Aug. 7, 1982, in Reno, Nev., she married Benjamin S. "Bennie" Stovall, who survives.
She enjoyed the outdoors, sewing, crafts, and collecting antiques.
Mrs. Stovall was a member of the White City Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a teacher in the primary organization.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Benjamin and Stacy, both of Eagle Point; three daughters, Mandy Elgin, Sonia Stovall, and Casandra Stovall, all of Eagle Point; her mother, Vernette Sepulveda, Palm Springs, Calif.; a brother, Paul Sepulveda, Palm Springs; two sisters, Michelle Sepulveda, Palm Springs, and Denise Gentry, Coalinga, Calif.; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, Alden Sepulveda.

Ann Klosterman
Ann Klosterman, 77, of Medford, died Thursday (Feb. 18, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. The memorial service was held Feb. 22. Interment was in Log Town Cemetery, Jacksonville.

She was born Ann Pride on Sept. 21, 1921, in Eagle River, Wis. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1975 from Southern California.
Mrs. Klosterman was a homemaker.
She enjoyed reading, and was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford.
Survivors include four sons, Mike and John, both of Medford, Bill, Gold Hill, and Mark, Ashland; two daughters, Janet Souza, Gold Hill, and Ava Kusel, White City; two sisters, Bernice Korger, Medford, and Alice Powell, Medford; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, who died in 1996; five brothers; two sisters; and a grandson.

Lawrence Dolan Toole
Lawrence Dolan Toole, 67, of White City, died Wednesday (Feb. 17, 1999) at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary in White City. Memorial services will be held in Helena, Mont.

He was born June 21, 1931, in Moscow, Idaho. He moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from Helena, Mont.
Mr. Toole was an emergency medical technician and volunteer for the Jackson County Juvenile Department.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1957.
Mr. Toole was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed volunteering and helping at the Juvenile Center.
Survivors include his companion, Helen McFadden, Eagle Point; and two brothers, John, Great Falls, Mont., and Robert, Chattahoochee, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother, William.

Michael John Hibert
Michael John Hibert, 36, of Medford, died Feb. 10, 1999, at his home. A private service will be held in Connecticut.
He was born Dec. 14, 1962, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He had lived in Oregon for 15 years.
Mr. Hibert was a carpenter with Cascade Wood Products.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Ann Hibert, Danbury, Conn.; two brothers, Thomas, Coral Springs, Fla., and Kevin, Danbury, Conn.; four sisters, Kelly Davidowski and Denise Weber, both of Danbury, Conn., Donna Lockwood, New Milford, Conn., and Colleen Hibert, of Connecticut. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Kenneth, in 1962.

Ernest Bruno Mondor
The memorial service for Ernest Bruno Mondor will be at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Road, Central Point. The Rev. James P. Clifford will officiate.
Mr. Mondor, 89, of Central Point, died Wednesday (Feb. 17, 1999) at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Worcester, Mass.
On Sept. 20, 1930, in Worcester, he married Irene O. Birtz, who survives. He moved to Central Point from Midway City, Calif. in 1991.
Mr. Mondor was a longshoreman in Long Beach, Calif., retiring in 1968.
After his retirement, he and his wife spent time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. They also trained Labrador retrievers for hunting and field trials, and won many cups and ribbons in competition.
Mr. Mondor was a member of the International Longshoreman Warehouse Union for 36 years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Ann P. Brown, Central Point, and Barbara R. Sciarrotta, Torrance, Calif.; a brother, Edmond J., Madera, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Everett E. Hamilton
The chapel service for Everett E. Hamilton will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, Medford. The Rev. Charles Christopher of St. Mark's Episcopal Church will officiate.
Mr. Hamilton, 92, of Medford, died Thursday (Feb. 18, 1999) at his home.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1906, in Mountain Park, Okla.
On Sept. 20, 1927, in Texico, N.M., he married Gladys Barnard, who preceded him in death. He moved to the Rogue Valley 23 years ago from Madras.
Mr. Hamilton was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He also was a member of the Hillah Temple Shriners.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, J.T., Medford, Lawrence Lynn, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Jerry Donald, Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Dewanda Jo Clark, The Dalles; two sisters, Jewel Robinson, Beaverton, and Gene Oliver, Albany; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn.
