Cecil J. Worthington
The memorial service for Cecil Jefferson Worthington will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Central Valley Chapel, Central Point.
Mr. Worthington, 78, of Medford, died Wednesday (March 10, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.
He was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Taloga, Okla.
On July 14, 1941, in Enid, Okla., he married Ruby Arnott, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 40 years ago.
Mr. Worthington was a truck driver, mechanic, orchardist, and worked in construction.
He attended the Pentecostal Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid wrestling fan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Karen Sollinger, Central Point, Rhonda Reddell, Sams Valley, and Valerie Coleman, Prospect; a sister, Lillian Mauck, Eugene; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Friends may pay their respects from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.
Raymond C. Gillette Jr.
The memorial service for Raymond C. Gillette Jr. will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Ashland Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Henry Zollbrecht will officiate.
Mr. Gillette, 73, of Ashland, died Wednesday (March 10, 1999) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

He was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Spokane, Wash.
During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps assigned to the Marine Corps Band. A trombonist, he later played with numerous big bands.
On Sept. 6, 1946, in California, he married Mary Kelley, who died in 1996. They moved to Ashland in 1971.
Mr. Gillette worked for Ford Motor Co. from 1956 to 1984, retiring as a regional parts and service manager.
Mr. Gillette was an Eagle Scout and later a scoutmaster. He was a 32nd degree Mason active with Free & Accepted Masons, Lodges 408 and 61; and a Shriner active in the Ashland Hillah Temple.
Survivors include three sons, Pete, Ashland, Patrick, Medford, and Mic, Castro Valley, Calif.; a sister, Shirley McGlathery, White City; and six grandchildren. A daughter, Karen Rodriguez, preceded him in death.

Kathryn Mary Miller
Kathryn Mary Miller, 87, of Ashland, died Wednesday (March 10, 1999) at Skylark Assisted Living and Enhanced Care. A private service was held. Interment was in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
She was born Kathryn Overton on Nov. 28, 1911, in Downey, Idaho.
In June 1936, in Las Vegas, she married Edward Miller, who died in 1994. They came to Ashland in 1986 from Garden Grove, Calif.
Survivors include a son, Dennis, Ashland; a brother, John Overton, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Earnest, Long Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Lindsay McMahon-Potts
Lindsay McMahon-Potts, 52, of White City, died Sunday (March 7, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Lindsay Loughborough on Aug. 26, 1946, in Glendale, Calif.
Mrs. McMahon-Potts lived in Grants Pass for 21 years before moving to White City a few months ago.
She enjoyed raising houseplants and making dried-flower arrangements.
Survivors include her companion, Frank Lally, White City; two sons, Russ Williams, New York City, and Kevin Nahhas, Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Stephanie McMahon Rogers, Newport, Wash.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Harry Potts in 1992; and a sister, Kimberly Goff in 1998.

Connye Sue Schuetze
Connye Sue Schuetze, 57, of Ashland, died Tuesday (March 9, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center of leukemia. A private service is planned.

She was born Connye Sue McKay Lively on April 17, 1941, in Henryetta, Okla.
She moved to Ashland from Henryetta and graduated from Ashland High School in 1959.
Mrs. Schuetze served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1961.
On Sept. 2, 1961, in Texas, she married Dietrich Schuetze, who survives.
Mrs. Schuetze lived in various locations before returning to Ashland in 1993 from Berlin, Germany.
She was active in Girl Scouts and enjoyed crafts.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Chelye Schuetze, Ashland, Kim Clausen, Grants Pass, and Jennifer Schuetze, serving as a captain in the Air Force in Southern California; two brothers, Vic Lively, Ashland, and John McKay, Mount Shasta, Calif.; a sister, Scottye York, Harbor; and three grandchildren.

Endre 'Andy' Ferenczy
The graveside service for Endre "Andy" Marton Ferenczy will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Robert Oman and friends will officiate.
Mr. Ferenczy, 64, of Medford, died March 1, 1999, at his home.
He was born Jan. 1, 1935, in Miskolc, Hungary.
Mr. Ferenczy graduated from the Medical University of Szeged, Hungary, in 1956.
He came to the United States in 1956 and later became a naturalized citizen.
At Purdue University, he pursued graduate studies in chemical engineering in 1957-58. He then was a lab technician at Cleveland Hospital.
From 1959 to 1962, he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Ferenczy began his career as an adhesive chemist in the forest products industry at Monsanto in Seattle, where he was a research chemist from 1962 to 1984. He was a chemist for Georgia Pacific Resins in Eugene from 1985 to 1986.
In 1986, he joined Dyno Polymers in White City where he was a research chemist and supervisor for nine years before his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Ferenczy enjoyed playing cards, traveling and visiting friends.
Survivors include his mother, Ilona Kozeschnik, in Hungary; a brother, Laszlo, Chicago; and a sister, Bela Tchinzi Valyi, in Hungary.

Bernadine M. Herman
The memorial service for Bernadine M. Herman will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Horton Plaza in Medford.
Mrs. Herman, 91, of Medford, died Monday (March 8, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Bernadine Emma Meismer on Jan. 23, 1908, in Cazenovia Township, Ill., and spent her childhood in Illinois.
Mrs. Herman attended high school in Aurora, Neb., and nursing school at the University of New York.
During World War II, she served as a first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps and was commended for meritorious service.
She was a registered nurse aboard the SS Brazil when she met Rock Herman. They were married in 1951 and lived in Albuquerque, N.M. After Mr. Herman died in 1959, she spent many years living in Southern California.
Survivors include a son, John R.; a sister, Marjorie Winzenreid; a brother, Dennis Meismer; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norbert Meismer; and a sister, Mary K. Meismer.

Lindsay Mohr Vinsel
Lindsay Mohr Vinsel, 80, of Ashland, died Tuesday (March 9, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. A private service is planned.

He was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Aberdeen, S.D.
Mr. Vinsel graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in Chicago and attended Iowa State University before entering the Army during World War II.
Later he graduated from Colorado State University.
In 1941, he married Barbara Winston, who preceded him in death. They moved to Medford in 1955.
In 1979, he married Virginia Teutsch, who survives.
Mr. Vinsel established the Adult Education Program at Medford High School, where he was an administrator and teacher for 38 years.
He was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Linda Jo Tarter, Medford; a son, Craig William, Reno; four stepchildren; three grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
