Nellie Maude Greaser
Nellie Maude Greaser, 84, of Medford, died Sunday (March 21, 1999) at Hearthstone. A private memorial service will be held later.
She was born Nellie Eicher on Oct. 28, 1914, in Central Point, a daughter of Claron and Nellie (Briggs) Eicher. She lived in the Rogue Valley her entire life.
On May 21, 1936, in Medford, she married Ben Greaser, who survives.
Mrs. Greaser was a homemaker who worked in the Medford School Book Room. She also volunteered and worked for the Jackson County Election Board for over 25 years.
She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Sallie Riehl, Decatur, Ala.; a brother, Wilbur Eicher, Central Point; two sisters, May Arthur, Medford, and Bertha Benson, Sequim, Wash.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Jeannie Lawless, preceded her in death.

'T.J.' Charbonneau
John "T.J." Charbonneau, 60, of Medford, died Friday (March 19, 1999) at his home. A private service will be held.
He was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Ypsilanti, Mich. He had lived in the Rogue Valley for 30 years.
Mr. Charbonneau was a long haul truck driver with Combined Transport in Central Point.
He served in the U.S. Marines in Korea.
Mr. Charbonneau enjoyed fishing, mining, hunting and gemology. He was a gold- and silversmith.
Survivors include two brothers, Michael Bucey, Medford, and Nester Piemental, Brownsville; three sisters, Jeanne Bucey, Medford, Rhonda Benedict, Phoenix, and Kathleen Suther, White City; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Tommy Lynn Owen
The memorial service for Tommy Lynn Owen will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Ascension Lutheran Church in Medford. The Rev. Dennie Clementson of Paradise, Calif., a cousin of Mr. Owen, will officiate.
Mr. Owen, 54, of Portland, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (March 20, 1999) in Portland.

He was born April 13, 1944, in Altadena, Calif. He lived in the Rogue Valley during the 1970s.
Mr. Owen worked in the construction industry, starting Pear Valley Construction. He was also founder and operator of 10th Street Junction in Medford. After moving to Portland, he was a pioneer in the steel framing construction industry.
He served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division.
Mr. Owen enjoyed fishing, boating, and golf.
Survivors include his companion, Cynthia Radcliff, Portland; a son, Jasin Owen, Orange, Calif.; his parents, Fred and Winona Owen, Medford; two brothers, Fred Jr., Gold Hill, and Kelly, Medford; and a sister, Sharon Schnakenberg, Medford.

Leona 'Bonnie' Babb
The graveside service for Leona "Bonnie" Babb will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Bob Larson of Ascension Lutheran Church in Medford will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
She was born Leona Lemler on Aug. 1, 1918, in Leland, Iowa.
On Feb. 4, 1967, in Santa Rosa, Calif., she married Charles Robert Babb, who survives. She moved to Medford in 1968.
Mrs. Babb enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and travel.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Mark Jerdet, Medford, and Dennis Anderson, Park Rapids, Minn.; a sister, Carmen Henson, Chico, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Bob Ross Geiger
The chapel service for Bob Ross Geiger will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Medford Neighborhood Church, 1819 Stewart Ave. The Rev. V. Lee Gregory will officiate. Private interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Geiger, 79, of Central Point, died Monday (March 22, 1999) at Three Fountains.

He was born March 2, 1920, in Peoria, Ariz.
On Oct. 7, 1945, in The Dalles, he married Alverta Darling, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Brookings in 1963.
Mr. Geiger was the owner of Rogue Valley Beverage, retiring in 1981.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the 41st Division, 186th Infantry. His division was the first called up after war was declared in the South Pacific.
Mr. Geiger was a rockhound and was a member of the Crater Rock Museum.
He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Jim, Phoenix, and Tom, Montague, Calif.; a daughter, Jeanne Peters, Central Point, a sister, Joyce Myers, Medford; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care.
Donald E. McDonald
Donald E. McDonald, 82, of Medford, died Monday (March 22, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service will be held.
He was born March 10, 1917, in Burns. He lived in Ashland for 40 years, moving from Fort Bragg, Calif.
Mr. McDonald was a heavy equipment operator working out of Operating Engineers Union Local No. 3 in California.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Mr. McDonald was a member of the Moose Lodge and Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed reading.
Survivors include a son, Donald A., Ashland; two daughters, Donna Ellis, Medford, and Nora Wilson, Eureka, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and a brother, Otis.

Merle Gowey Gibbs
The memorial service for Merle Gowey Gibbs will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Christian Church of Ashland. The Rev. Bob Friend will officiate.
Mrs. Gibbs, 89, of Phoenix, died Thursday (March 18, 1999) at her home.

She was born Merle Gowey on Dec. 16, 1909, in Flora.
On June 1, 1928, in La Grande, she married Thomas M. Gibbs, who died in 1966. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Madras in 1977.
Mrs. Gibbs was a bookkeeper for Wayside Market in John Day from the late 1930s until 1968.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in John Day and Madras.
Mrs. Gibbs was a charter member of the First Christian Church of John Day. She was also a member of Ashland Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Grove, Phoenix; a son, Jim Gibbs, Gervais; two brothers, Don, Portland, and Homer, Fallbrook, Calif.; a sister, Ivy Sample, Madras; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Dora L. Lewis
Dora Lucella Lewis, 79, of North Bend, formerly of Medford, died March 17, 1999, in North Bend. No service is planned.
She was born Dora Carpenter on July 26, 1919, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1929, and lived here until last year.
Ms. Lewis owned and operated the Judy Ann restaurant in Medford. During her career, she worked as a manager at the Jubilee Club in Jacksonville, and a cook at many other restaurants.
She enjoyed ceramics, painting and needlework.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan C. Ebnother, Jacksonville, and Deela J. Pike, North Bend; two sons, Bennett B. Lewis, Las Vegas, and Richard C. Lewis, Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, John Carpenter, Idaho; two sisters, Beulah Beck, Eugene, and Marjorie Whitman; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Arnold Lockwood.
