Morris S. Vukonich

Morris S. Vukonich, 84, of Medford, died Saturday (March 27, 1999) in Medford. No service is planned. Private inurnment will be in Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River.

He was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Red Lodge, Mont. He moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago.

Mr. Vukonich was a self-employed carpenter.

He served in the U.S. military in World War II.

Mr. Vukonich enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.

Survivors include a brother, John Vukonich, Montana; and a sister, Katherine Swanson, Montana.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Mabel E. Dawson

The memorial service for Mabel Elizabeth Dawson will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Trail Community Church. Pastor Welch of Trail Community Church will officiate.

Mrs. Dawson, 90, of Eagle Point, died Saturday (March 27, 1999) in Eagle Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to Garret House Foster Care, 5501 Rogue River Drive, Eagle Point, OR 97524 or Trail Community Church, 399 Old Trail Creek Road, Trail, OR 97541.

She was born Mabel Collins on Aug. 16, 1908, in Blunt, S.D. She moved to the Rogue Valley from South Dakota in 1940.

On April 20, 1941, in Eureka, Calif., she married Robert Dawson, who died in 1960.

Mrs. Dawson was a cook with Jackson County schools for 13 years. She was also a foster grandparent for the Elk Trail Schools.

She was a member of Trail Community Church, where she taught child evangelism, and was an AWANA leader.

Mrs. Dawson enjoyed helping people.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Lori and Deana Stockton, both of Shady Cove; a grandson, Robert Stockton, Trail; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Stockton, in 1986.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Eileen Hazel Baugh

The graveside service for Eileen Hazel Baugh will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Chris Thompson of Applegate Christian Fellowship will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mrs. Baugh, 79, of Medford, died Friday (March 26, 1999) in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Cancer Center, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Eileen Crow on Dec. 14, 1919, in La Verne, Calif.

On Dec. 14, 1941, in Las Vegas, she married Fred "R D" Baugh, who survives. She moved to Jacksonville from California in 1977.

Mrs. Baugh was a member of REACT -- Retired Eagle Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, bingo and cooking.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, James, Medford, Norman "R D," Fontana, Calif., Robert, Long Island, N.Y., and William, Maple Valley, Wash.; a brother, Raymond Crow, Grass Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Bernice Baldock, Irvine, Calif., and Pauline Mayfield, Napa Valley, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by twin daughters; and a brother, Leonard Crow.

Earl J. Madray

The memorial service for Earl J. Madray will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford. Pastor Craig Rench of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

Mr. Madray, 93, of Medford, died Thursday (March 25, 1999) in Medford.

He was born Oct. 10, 1905, in Skidmore, Texas.

On Oct. 10, 1969, in Eureka, Calif., he married Thelma Beckwith, who died in 1998.

Mr. Madray worked for the forestry department in California for 20 years.

He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collecting, and volunteering at the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include a daughter, Earlita Cassidy, San Diego, Calif.; a son, Albert "Chip," of Medford; and two stepsons, Robert W. Hansen of Washington, and Richard Hansen of California.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors of Medford.

Lavonia G. Aderholt

The funeral for Lavonia Gertrude Aderholt will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Conger Morris Funeral Directors in Medford. Pastor Laverne Mallard of the Church of God will officiate. Interment will be at Scenic Hill Memorial Park in Ashland.

Mrs. Aderholt, 74, of Talent, died Friday (March 26, 1999) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Oregon, 9320 S.W. Barbur Blvd., Portland, OR 97219.

She was born on April 23, 1924, in Burdge Point, Mo., a daughter of Franklin Elmer Bush and Phoebe Delia Osborn. She moved from Texas to the Rogue Valley in 1976.

She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and taking care of her family.

Survivors include four daughters, Phoebe Northorpe of Phoenix, Debbie Sue Shearer of Ashland, and Sheryl Pedraza and Martha Kay Sanders, both of Washington state; three sons, Michael Thomas of Talent, Jimmy Lee Sanders of Medford, and John Sanders

of Central Point; four stepdaughters, Delores Thomas of Talent, Louise Howe of Las Vegas, Nev., Alta Alder of Oklahoma and Kathy Lauinus of California; three stepsons, Lee Aderholt, Texas, Eddie Aderholt, California and Vernon Aderholt, Florida; 49 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Conger Morris Funeral Directors.

Wallena E. Day

Wallena E. Day, 81, of Central Point, died Thursday (March 25, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born Wallena Pitts on Nov. 23, 1917, in Salem.

Mrs. Day was raised and attended school in Salem. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1951 from Portland.

She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxine W. Cardwell, Phoenix, and Ruth M. Bakes, Central Point; a son, Roscoe G., Medford; a sister, Gertrude Jean Green, Central Point; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Her husband, Grant R. Day, died in 1991.

Arrangements: Perl Funeral Services-Siskiyou, Medford.

Opal F. Tripp

Opal Ferrell Tripp, 90, of Medford, died March 19, 1999, in Mesa, Ariz. No service is planned.

She was born Opal Ferrell on Nov. 7, 1908, in Boise, Idaho. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Boise in 1910.

In 1928, she married Charles Henry Nelson, who preceded her in death.

In 1947, in Portland, she married D.J. "Red" Tripp, who survives.

Mrs. Tripp owned and operated a beauty salon in Portland.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling and bowling.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Jewel Morrisey, Apache Junction, Ariz.; a brother, Orville Ferrell, Klamath Falls; a sister, Daisy Cox, Lakeview; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.

Clifford L. Lamie

Clifford L. Lamie, 92, of Ashland, died Wednesday (March 24, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland.

No service is planned. Private interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mr. Lamie was born on March 30, 1906, in Clark, S.D., a son of Anthony and Zilda Lamie. He was a longtime resident of Ashland and had worked in the city parks department.

He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.
