Grace Irene Peile
The memorial service for Grace Irene Peile will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Myrtle Creek Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Eldon W. Rayborn will officiate.
Mrs. Peile, 86, of Myrtle Creek, formerly of Shady Cove, died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at her home.
She was born Sept. 11, 1912, in Dayton. She was raised and educated in Toledo.
She lived in Shady Cove from the early 1930s to 1962, then she lived in Tiller for 15 years. She moved to the Tri City area near Myrtle Creek in 1977.
Survivors include her companion of 22 years, Cleo Sims, Myrtle Creek; two sons, Edmond Peile, Eagle Point, and Robert Peile of Tiller; two daughters, Velma Goldsmith, Eugene, and Charlene Zynda, Mill City; a brother, Leonard Anderson, Newport; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Helen Rachel Buchwald
A celebration of the life of Helen Rachel Buchwald will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at 410 Emerald Circle, Medford. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.
Mrs. Buchwald, 90, of Central Point, died Wednesday (March 31, 1999) at her home.

Mrs. Buchwald was born April 22, 1908, in Scott Township, Ohio. On Dec. 31, 1925, in Ohio, she married Leonard C. Buchwald, who died in 1978.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1955 from Ohio.
Mrs. Buchwald was a homemaker all of her life.
She enjoyed walking, gardening, making rag dolls and candlemaking.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew Jonathan Buchwald, Central Point, and William Mark Buchwald, Springfield; four daughters, Kathleen Beers and Vicki Buchwald, both of Medford, Judith Anne Larso, Corvallis, and Amanda Jo McLittle, Grants Pass; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Buchwald, in 1938, and a son, Leonard Charles Buchwald, Jr. in 1996.

Deborah F. Crenshaw
The memorial service for Deborah Faith Crenshaw will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Medford. James Falk will officiate.
Mrs. Crenshaw, 44, of Talent, died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at her home.

She was born March 17, 1955, in Coos Bay.
On Sept. 21, 1996, in Talent, she married Ray Crenshaw, who survives.
Mrs. Crenshaw was a caregiver for disabled people in foster care.
She was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was involved in the Special Olympics.
She enjoyed softball.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Ray Crenshaw, Talent, and Michael Henry, Tucson, Ariz.; five daughters, Tammy Valiquette, Ellie Crenshaw and Lucianne Crenshaw, all of Medford, and Samantha Mead and Frances Mead, both of Talent; five brothers, James Falk, Boise, Idaho, John Falk, in Alaska, and Bill, Mick and Pat Falk, in California; two sisters, Mary Lockwood, Medford, and Ann Falk, Coos Bay; and four grandchildren.

James C. Stevens
James C. Stevens, 95, of Medford, died Saturday (April 3, 1999) at Hearthstone. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
He retired from the Coast Guard as a captain.

June Hilda Schommer
June Hilda Schommer, 75, of Shady Cove, died Wednesday (March 31, 1999) at a foster care home in Eagle Point. A service has been held.

She was born June Vannatter on June 16, 1923, in Philadelphia.
On Feb. 29, 1944, in Hollywood, Calif., she married Ivo J. Schommer, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Mrs. Schommer attended the Lutheran and Baptist Churches in North Hollywood, Calif.
She enjoyed art, politics, religion, and animals.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Heather Sutton, Salinas, Calif., and April Wilsak, Huntington Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Jim Varady Eagle
Jim Varady Eagle, 57, of Gold Hill, died March 25, 1999, at his home. No service is planned.
He was born May 13, 1941, in Rock Springs, Wyo. He moved to the Rogue Valley 30 years ago from Gardena, Calif.
Mr. Eagle was self-employed in general marketing.
He enjoyed archery and beekeeping.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Eagle II, and Nick Varady, both Grants Pass; his mother, Julia Nylund, Gold Hill; and a brother, Ted Varady, Grants Pass. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Marie Sefton, in 1979.

Dorothy Mae Rodricks
Dorothy Mae Rodricks, 88, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday (March 31, 1999) at Three Rivers Community Hospital & Health Center, Dimmick Campus, Grants Pass. No service is planned.
She was born Dorothy Mae Valla on Aug. 21, 1910, in Santa Cruz, Calif.
On June 2, 1929, in Redwood City, Calif., she married Charles Rodricks, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Grants Pass area two years ago from Missouri.
Mrs. Rodricks was an accounting supervisor for American District Telegraph in San Francisco for 23 years, retiring in 1965.
She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Rodriguez, Grants Pass, and Charles Rodriguez, Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Darold Newton Garman
The memorial service for Darold Newton Garman will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Conger-Morris Chapel. Private inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
Mr. Garman, 92, of Medford, died Thursday (April 1, 1999) in Medford.
He was born July 24, 1906, in Viola, Wis.
On June 6, 1988, he married Hilda M. Singler, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley for 81 years.
Mr. Garman served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and then joined the National Guard. He retired as a sergeant major.
Following his retirement from the military, Mr. Garman was a heavy equipment mechanic for local companies.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1833 in Medford.
Mr. Garman enjoyed building miniature engines, nature and the forest.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Shirley M. Risley, Central Point; a son, Gerald N., in the San Francisco Bay area; a stepson, Jack L. Turk, Brookings; two sisters, Nellie Cave, Central Point and Wilma Dyer, Butte Falls; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Floy, in 1987; and by a brother, Jack, in 1987.
