Fay Myrtle Risinger
The funeral for Fay Myrtle Risinger will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Black-Cooper-Sander Funeral Home, 363 Seventh St., Hollister, Calif. The graveside service will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Hollister.
Mrs. Risinger, 72, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (April 18, 1998) at her home.
She was born Fay Myrtle Spencer in Hollister.
On June 1, 1960, in Hollister, she married Morris Risinger, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley from California 15 years ago.
Mrs. Risinger was an accountant for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
She enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Richard Large, Phoenix; a daughter, Nancy Casto, Fremont, Calif.; a stepson, Richard Risinger, Gilroy, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Dixie Booher and Linda Gonzales, both Gilroy; a brother, Roy Spencer, Hollister; a sister, Betty Duckworth, Napa, Calif; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Swank.

LauRee Hernandez
The memorial service for LauRee Hernandez will be at 9 a.m. today in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Chaplain Earl Best of Providence Hospital will officiate.
Mrs. Hernandez, 58, of Central Point, died Saturday (April 17, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born LauRee Coleman on Sept. 22, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
On March 14, 1980, in Reno, Nev., she married Daniel Hernandez, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994 from California.
Mrs. Hernandez was a bank teller, until her retirement.
She enjoyed her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Aleph, San Francisco; two daughters, Karin and Jennie, both Central Point; a sister, Mary Beth Leroy, of California; and a brother, Jimmy Dean Coleman, in Montana.

Nancy Hershberger
The memorial service for Nancy Paxton Hershberger will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Nevitt V. Smith will officiate.
Mrs. Hershberger, 84, of Ashland, died Monday (April 19, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Nancy Paxton on March 26, 1915, in Walla Walla, Wash.
On April 29, 1942, in Enumclaw, Wash., she married Louis Bradford Hershberger, who survives.
The couple traveled extensively due to their work. Upon retiring in 1977, they moved to Ashland from South San Francisco.
Mrs. Hershberger was an active member of Oak Knoll Women's Golf Association of Ashland and the First United Methodist Church of Ashland.
She enjoyed golf, quilting, reading and walking.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, John, Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Patty Gagnon, Lancaster, Pa.; a brother, Donald G. Paxton, Spokane, Wash.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Anna D. Salisbury
The cryptside service for Anna Dorothy Salisbury will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Pastor Rick Burns of the First Baptist Church will officiate.
Ms. Salisbury, 91, of Medford, died Monday (April 19, 1999) at her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 649 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1907, in Chicago.
Ms. Salisbury was a secretary for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway in Chicago. Following her retirement, and the deaths of her parents, she moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford.
Ms. Salisbury enjoyed traveling, playing the piano and flowers.
Survivors include a niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Keith Spooner, both of McMinnville; and her foster family at Country Club Manor in Medford. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Potter.

Clarence L. Wels
The graveside service for Clarence L. Wels will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sterlingville Cemetery in Jacksonville. Pastor Stan Johnson of the West Main Church of Christ, Medford, will officiate.
Mr. Wels, 94, of Medford, died Sunday (April 18, 1999) at the Medford Rehabilitation & Health Center.
Friends may pay their respects from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.

Steven D. Thomas
The graveside service for Steven Dale Thomas will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River. The Rev. Jack Ziezer will officiate.
Mr. Thomas, 46, of Gold Hill, died Saturday (April 17, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.
He was born July 23, 1952, in Watsonville, Calif. He completed two years of high school there, before his family moved to Rogue River, where he graduated in 1971.
Mr. Thomas was a butcher for Ray's Sentry Market in Rogue River for more than eight years. Before and after that, he worked for Cascade Wood Products as a molder setup man.
He enjoyed fishing on the Rogue River, hunting, golf and repairing VCR and lawn and garden equipment.
Survivors include his companion, Nancy Smith, Gold Hill; two daughters, Brodie and Lacey Thomas-Mark, Rogue River; his parents, Harvey R. and Eileen C. Thomas, Rogue River; a brother, James L., Rogue River; and a sister, Susan Banks, Rogue River.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, 2065 Upper River Road, Grants Pass.
John Robert Reid
John Robert Reid, 80, of Medford, died Friday (April 16, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born Dec. 19, 1918, in Albuquerque, N.M.
On March 11, 1939, in Lordsburg, N.M., he married Louella Perry, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley six years ago from Alamogordo, N.M.
Mr. Reid was a welder in the Long Beach shipyards, and a heavy equipment mechanic in the logging industry.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Reid was a Christian, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sisters, Gertrude Casey, Majorie Hale and Adeline Miller, all of New Mexico.

Muriel J. McDuffee
Muriel June McDuffee, 92, of Medford, died April 13, 1999 at her home. No service is planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
She was born Muriel Bell on June 30, 1906, in Hereford, Minn.
On Aug. 24, 1928, in Vernonia, she married Paul L. McDuffee, who died in 1993. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Vernonia in 1931.
Mrs. McDuffee graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland, and attended the University of Oregon in Eugene for three years.
She enjoyed playing bridge, fine needlework gardening and cooking.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Simonson, Medford, Anne Hart, Corvallis, and Gail Shinn, Beaufort, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Bell.
