Keith E. Schroeder
Keith Edward Schroeder, 67, of Medford, died Monday (April 26, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service will be held later.

He was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Monte Vista, Colo.
On April 20, 1968, in Carson City, Nev., he married Angeline Shope, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1940 and graduated from Phoenix High School.
Mr. Schroeder owned and operated S & S Trucking in Medford.
He served in the U.S. Navy in 1952.
Mr. Schroeder enjoyed fishing and boating.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five stepsons, Michael Shope, Medford, Tom and Tony Shope, both Central Point, Stanley "Jody" Shope, Hillsboro, and Jim Shope, Vancouver, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Anita Brown, Salem; a brother, Bobby Alfred, Medford; a sister, Gayleen Packwood, White City; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marva.

Myrtle Lucille Watson
Myrtle Lucille Watson, 84, of Grants Pass, died Monday (April 26, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born Myrtle Mills on March 27, 1915, in Ranger, Texas. She received a teaching degree from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, in 1936.
On June 16, 1937, in Ranger, Texas, she married Thomas L. Watson, who died in 1963.
Mrs. Watson was a teacher. She taught for one year in Hooks, Texas, before her marriage. After her marriage, she moved to Elk Grove, Calif., where she and her husband operated a sheep ranch. From 1964 through 1974, she taught seventh- and eighth-grade social studies, math and physical education at Capitola Junior High School. She moved to Grants Pass in 1990.
She enjoyed her family and counting money.
Survivors include two sons, Mills, Talent, and Thomas M., Hermiston; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, William and Colonel Buster Mills; and two sisters, Reba Mills, and Myrkle Hill.

Gwen Corrine Mooney
Gwen Corrine Mooney, 55, of Medford, died Sunday (April 25, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A memorial service will be held later in Hood River.
She was born Gwen Williams on June 30, 1943, in Hood River. She lived in the Rogue Valley for one year.
Mrs. Mooney collected milk bottles and ceramic giraffes and sheep. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and riding bikes.
Survivors include a daughter, Amanda R. Mooney, Medford; a son, Bart A., Parkdale; her mother, Constance Williams, Hood River; and one grandchild.

Nelda Jones
The memorial graveside service for Nelda Jones will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford. Joseph Rachal of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ashland Bear Creek, will officiate.
Mrs. Jones, 83, of Medford, died Friday (April 23, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation & Health Care.
She was born Nelda Jones on Jan. 25, 1916, in Lake Shore, Utah.
In June of 1940, she married Norvel T. Jones, who died in 1975. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946 from Idaho.
Mrs. Jones was a professional seamstress.
She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and worked diligently with the Girl Scouts.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting and music.
Survivors include a son, Ernest, Medford; a daughter, Iris Janette Jones, Sun Valley, Nev.; a sister, Pearl Bryan, Salt Lake City; a brother, Jobe Jones, Seattle; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jack E. Woodward
The memorial service for Jack E. Woodward will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Phoenix High School football stadium.
Mr. Woodward, 84, of Phoenix, died Friday (April 23, 1999) in Medford.

Anna Elizabeth Bates
The funeral for Anna Elizabeth Lee Bates will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rogue Valley Christian Church, 1440 S. Oakdale, Medford. Pastor Jim Larsen of Rogue Valley Christian Church will officiate.
Anna, 18, of Medford, died Monday (April 26, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center of cancer.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1981, in Medford, a daughter of Philip and Christina Bates. She lived in the Rogue Valley her entire life.
She was engaged to be married to Tim Poppa.
Anna was a student at South Medford High School, where she was a cheerleader, a dance team member, and a choir member. She wanted to pursue a career as a dancer.
The students at South, as well as community members, staged several benefit activities to help Anna and her family after she was diagnosed with cancer.
She was an active member of the Rogue Valley Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include her fiance, Tim Poppa, Medford; her parents, Philip and Christina Bates, Medford; a brother, Justin, Grants Pass; and grandparents, Howard and Norma Osborne, Oroville Calif. She was preceded in death by a sister, Wendy, in 1970.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Chapel in Medford.
Scott Simpson
The memorial service for Scott Simpson will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Butte Creek Bible Church in Eagle Point. Pastor Ed Graham and Terry Kirby will officiate.
Mr. Simpson, 35, of Central Point, died Sunday (April 25, 1999) in Sams Valley in an automobile accident.

He was born Sept. 27, 1963, in Ashland, a son of Bill and Lynn Simpson. He graduated from Phoenix High School.
On Sept. 20, 1984, in Gold Hill, he married Joanne Bandfield, who survives.
Mr. Simpson was a heavy equipment operator with LTM.
He was a member of the Medford Gun & Pistol Club and the International Union of Operating Engineers No. 701.
Mr. Simpson enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, trapping and archery.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and his parents, include two sons, Kyle and Cody, both Central Point; two sisters, Chris Thornton, Eagle Point, and Cindy Morris, Klamath Falls; and two brothers, Tony, Medford, and Mike, Eagle Point.

Lionel Leroy Foster
The memorial service for Lionel Leroy Foster will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Mr. Foster, 62, of White City, died April 21, 1999, at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 17, 1936, in Pine River, Minn. He moved to the Rogue Valley five years ago from McMinnville.
Mr. Foster served in the U.S. Navy for 17 years.
He was a security officer at Cascade Steel mill in McMinnville.
Survivors include a son, James, McMinnville; his mother, Esther Foster; a brother, Milo; and a sister, Darlene Guzman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Foster.
