Shelley Ann Green
The graveside service for Shelley Ann Green will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Larry Knight of the First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
Ms. Green, 19, of Medford, died Sunday (May 9, 1999) of cancer at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.

She was born Nov. 22, 1979, in Forks, Wash. She moved to the Rogue Valley 13 years ago from Packwood, Wash.
Ms. Green was a 1998 graduate of North Medford High School. She was a freshman at Oregon State University in Corvallis.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church Youth Group.
Ms. Green enjoyed the outdoors, soccer and traveling.
Survivors include her parents, David C. and Leann W. Green, and a brother, Ryan J. Green, all of Medford.

`Jim' Robinson
The graveside service for James Willard "Jim" Robinson will be at 11 a.m. today in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Robinson, 83, of Central Point, died Sunday (May 9, 1999) at his home.
He was born March 29, 1916, in Danville, Ill.
On June 5, 1958, in Compton, Calif., he married Ruby Young, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 28 years ago from California.
Mr. Robinson was an assistant dock master at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne during World War II.
Mr. Robinson was a Christian, and enjoyed music and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Lori Glenn, Central Point; two sons, Bill Young, Napa, Calif., and David Robinson, in Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Carlene Wilson and Roxie Ann; six brothers; and two sisters.

Sandra S. VerBurgt
Sandra Sue VerBurgt, 66, of Ashland, died Saturday (May 8, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Sandra Meranda on April 24, 1933, in Scottsbluff, Neb.
On Jan. 1, 1976, in Idaho Springs, Colo., she married Anthony VerBurgt, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley 21 years ago from Colorado.
Mrs. VerBurgt worked as an office manager at Helman Elementary School for 11 years.
She enjoyed children, gardening, crafts and cooking.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Nancy Rineman, Phoenix, and Susan Keim, in California; a son, Michael Keim, in Alaska; and eight grandchildren.

Laura Martinez
The graveside service for Laura Martinez will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Perris Valley Cemetery in Perris Valley, Calif.
Mrs. Martinez, 95, of Ashland, died Saturday (May 7, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland.

She was born Laura Martinez on June 7, 1903, in Mexico. She graduated from California Commercial College in Whittier, Calif.
On June 6, 1936, in Santa Ana, Calif., she married Jose C. Martinez, who died in 1969.
Mrs. Martinez worked for Hunt's Foods. She also co-owned and operated Joe's Market in Norwalk, Calif. Following her retirement in 1964, she moved to Oregon, where she lived in Klamath Falls and Ashland.
Survivors include two sons, Joe, Ashland, and Richard, Klamath Falls; a daughter, Laura Hernandez, Klamath Falls; a stepson, Robert, in Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Gloria Zuniga, Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Edna Maria Ritchie
Edna Maria Ritchie, 88, of Medford, died Sunday (May 9, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born Edna Campbell on May 14, 1910, in Worms, Neb. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1942.
Mrs. Ritchie enjoyed playing cards, and visiting friends.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Orndoff, Medford, and Wayne Ritchie, El Paso, Texas; a brother; two sisters; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ireland Gunn Miller
Ireland Gunn Miller, 80, of Medford, died Monday (May 10, 1999) at Central Point Foster Care. No service is planned. Private interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
He was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Dutton, Mont. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Dutton in 1924, and graduated from Medford High School in 1938. He attended Heald Business College in San Francisco.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy in the European Theater during the invasion of Normandy. He attained the rank of chief yeoman.
Mr. Miller worked as a purser aboard various steamship lines out of New York and San Francisco. He also worked as a driver salesman for Rainbow Bakeries, Nabisco and as a dispatcher for Folsom Lake State Park in Sacramento, Calif. He returned to Medford in 1979, where he was a driver for Gelco Courier service.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mickey Miller.

Catherine I. Morris
Catherine I. Morris died Saturday (May 8, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center in Ashland. Interment will be in the family woodlands in the Greensprings.
She was born March 17, 1903, in Paterson, N.J. She moved to the Talent/Ashland area in 1982 from Pasadena, Calif.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen Slowikowski, Talent, and Catherine Morris, Los Angeles; three grandsons; and one great-grandson.

Irene Boone Hansen
Irene Ray Boone Hansen, 85, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Ashland, died Sunday (May 2, 1999) in Mesa, Ariz. A memorial service will be held later. Inurnment will be in New Carlisle, Ohio.
She was born Irene Haslet on July 15, 1913, in Tippecanoe County, Ind.
Mrs. Hansen was a special education teacher and school counselor. She taught in De Kalb County, Ga. She moved to Mesa two years ago from Ashland.
She was a member of the KKA Sorority and the Mesa East Lions Club.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Hansen, Mesa, Ariz.; two sons, John H. Boone, San Francisco, and Dr. Joseph C. Boone, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a sister, Virginia Hawkins, Brazil, Ind.; a brother, Joseph W. Haslet, Yakima, Wash.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Boone, in 1961; and a brother, William R. Haslet.

Marguerite S. Phillips
The memorial service for Marguerite S. Phillips will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Medford Friends Church in Medford. Pastor Mark Burton will officiate. The graveside service will follow at Scenic Hills Memorial Park in Ashland.
She was born Marguerite Shaffer on Nov. 29, 1912, in Elkins, W.Va.
In 1936, in Elkins, she married Dewain Phillips, who died in 1983. She moved from Elkins to Ashland in 1959 and to Medford in 1987.
Mrs. Phillips was a secretary for the state road commission in Elkins. Following her move to the Rogue Valley, she was a clerk for Harry and David in Medford. She owned and operated Sunshine Corner Health Foods in Ashland and then worked as a clerk for the Health Food Mart in Medford.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Elkins, the Ashland Friends Church, the Medford Friends Church, and Christian Business Women. She was a church elder.
She enjoyed reading and socializing.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Frey, Jacksonville; two sons, Gary, Medford, and Dan, Talent; three brothers, John Shaffer, Stockton, Calif., Richard Shaffer, Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Edward Shaffer, Winter Haven, Fla.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Welda Shaffer, Buella Shaffer and Brenice Wilmoth; and three brothers, Charles, Howard, and Robert Shaffer.
