Louis E. Bond

The memorial service for Louis E. Bond will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Conger-Morris Downtown Medford Chapel. Interment, with military honors, will be at the Eagle Point National Cemetery at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Bond, 70, of Medford, died Saturday (May 15, 1999) at his home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2825 Barnett Road, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born May 26, 1928, in Panama City, Panama.

Mr. Bond attended St. Mary's College in Moraga, Calif., and received a degree in physics from the University of Nebraska and a master's degree in business from California State University, Hayward. He also had a teacher's certificate.

Mr. Bond was a past president of the Rogue Valley Mobile Home Park Association and the Southern Oregon Rental Association.

He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a major.

Since moving to Medford from the Bay area in 1980 he was an owner and property manager.

Survivors include a son, Herman, San Francisco; four daughters, Paula Bond, Orinda, Calif., Katharyn Bond, San Francisco, Karen Bond-Scruton, Corte Madera, Calif., and Michelle Bond, Alameda, Calif.; his mother, Adela Dutari Stahl, Fremont, Calif.; a sister, Adele Johnson, Fremont; and one grandchild. A sister, Geraldine Stahl, preceded him in death.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Bob A. Davis

The memorial Mass for Bob A. Davis will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mr. Davis, 91, of Medford, died Friday (May 14, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born May 27, 1907, in Chicago.

On Oct. 19, 1946, in Oakland, he married Mary Louie, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from San Leandro, Calif.

Mr. Davis was an engineer-inspector for the Southern Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1972.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a niece, Jacquelyn Tanis, Chicago. A brother, Ralph, preceded him in death.

Orville Edward Bixel

The graveside funeral for retired Air Force Lt. Col. Orville Edward Bixel will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Veterans for Veterans will officiate.

Mr. Bixel, 87, of Phoenix, died Wednesday (May 12, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 18, 1912, in Rainier.

On Jan. 16, 1937, in Hillsboro, he married Pearl Avery, who survives.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1931, serving in the infantry, Signal Corps, and field artillery until July 1941, when he was ordered to active duty as a Second Lieutenant with the Army Air Corps.

He served with the Army Air Forces and the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer at stations in the U.S., Europe, Korea and England until his retirement in 1961.

He also worked as deputy director of Civil Defense in Reno, Nev., for 13 years until he again retired, in February 1977.

Mr. Bixel moved from Merced, Calif., to the Rogue Valley in 1993.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Retired Officers Association and the Reserve Officers Association. He enjoyed military history, hiking, fishing and traveling.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Dale, Phoenix. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may pay their respects Monday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Dr., Medford.

Elsie Mae Finch

The funeral for Elsie Mae Finch will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Butte Falls Cemetery. The Rev. Harold Tiffee of Trinity Baptist Church, White City, will officiate.

Mrs. Finch, 88, of Ashland, died Wednesday (May 12, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford.

She was born Elsie Keith on Dec. 11, 1910, in Polk, Mo.

On Sept. 13, 1928, in Bolivar, Mo., she married Raymond Claude Finch, who died in 1979.

Mrs. Finch lived in the Rogue Valley since 1963, after moving from La Habra, Calif. She lived in Ottowa, Kan., from 1929 to 1945.

She enjoyed fishing and activities at the Trinity Baptist Church in White City and at the Eagle Point Senior Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Lovie M. Savage, Phoenix, and Mamie Gadelman, Belton, Mo.; two sons, Ron Finch, Eagle Point, and Willard K. Finch, Hot Springs, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was a son, Raymond D. Finch.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Jack Miller

Jack Miller, 77, of Central Point, died Friday (May 14, 1999) at his home. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Oregon, 2910 Table Rock Road, Medford, OR 97501.

He was born April 21, 1922, in Sheridan, Wyo.

On June 27, 1942, in Grants Pass, he married Phyllis Beaulieu, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley six years ago from Hamilton, Mont.

Mr. Miller worked as a retail manager and a land developer until he retired in 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, travel and golf.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Sue Damon, Bayview, Idaho; a son, Steve, Florence, Mont.; a sister, Lorene Butler, Eugene; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, Medford.

Sue Adams Toce

The funeral for Sue Adams Toce will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Chapel. Cryptside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Rev. Ron Welch of Trail Community Church will officiate.

Mrs. Toce, 100, of Trail, died Thursday (May 13, 1999) in Medford.

She was born Sue Adams on Nov. 26, 1898, in Aberdeen, Miss.

On Dec. 17, 1916, in Alexandria, La., she married Charles A. Toce, who died in 1979.

She moved to the Rogue Valley from Shadow Hills, Calif., in 1962.

Mrs. Toce served as a parachute rigger in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, she opened her own business as a parachute technician.

She was a member of the Roxy Ann Gem & Mineral Club. She was an avid rock hound and enjoyed collecting old glassware, writing poetry, hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Toce was a member of the Trail Community Church.

Survivors include a son, Charles Toce Jr., Shady Cove; two granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Jessie Sykes, and three grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Chapel.

Georgia Pestka

The graveside service for Georgia Pestka will be at 1 p.m. at Redmond Memorial Park, Redmond. The Rev. Neil Mason of Bethel Church of Redmond will officiate.

Mrs. Pestka, 88, of Jacksonville, died Friday (May 14, 1999) at home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Hospice, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford, 97504.

She was born Georgia Griffin on March 18, 1911, in Oklahoma Territory.

On Nov. 16, 1932, in Miles City, Mont., she married Clarence Pestka, who died in 1971.

Mrs. Pestka lived in Redmond from 1939 to 1962, when she moved to the Rogue Valley.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing and needlepoint.

Survivors include a daughter, Delores Weber, Tualatin; a brother, Verne Pestka, Bend; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Congress-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Kimberly Mundell

The graveside service for Kimberly Paige Nicole Mundell will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Bishop John Vial of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate.

Kimberly, 7, of Guam, died May 4, 1999, in Honolulu, Hawaii, after a brief struggle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 21, 1991, on Guam.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a Brownie Girl Scout. She enjoyed dancing, sports, singing and playing with her friends and toys, especially Barbie dolls. She was in the gifted and talented education program.

Kimberly is survived by her parents, U.S. Air Force Capt. Dan and Marquita J.E. Mundell, formerly of Grants Pass; four brothers, Kelly, Korey, Casey and Christian (C.J.), all of Guam; her paternal grandmother, Marie Mundell, Medford; her maternal grandparents, Grace and Andrew Short, Fayetteville, N.Y.; her paternal great-grandmother, Malinda Wilson, Grants Pass; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marcella Short, and her paternal grandfather, Arthur Mundell.

Friends may pay their respects Monday from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
