Bert L. `Red' Davis
The memorial service for Bert L. "Red" Davis will be at 1 p.m. June 5 in Pioneer Hall, 73 Winburn Way, Ashland. The Davis family will officiate.
Mr. Davis, 87, of Ashland, died Thursday (May 20, 1999) at his home.

He was born March 18, 1912, in Rupert, Idaho.
On Aug. 6, 1932, in Klamath Falls, he married Marjorie Mitchell, who survives. He lived in the Rogue Valley from 1937 to 1959, and returned to Ashland from California in 1979.
Mr. Davis began his career driving wreckers with Selby Chevrolet in Ashland in 1939. During the late 1950s, he drove wreckers for Selby up the Greensprings and Siskiyous. He later worked for O'Bleness and Bush Motor Co.
Mr. Davis owned and operated 99 Auto Wreckers in Talent with Kenny Taylor. After he sold the business in 1959, he moved to Sacramento, Calif., where was a Corvette fiberglass specialist. He retired in 1977.
Mr. Davis was a past member of the Elks Lodge 944 in Ashland and the Automotive Workers Union. In Sacramento, he was a foster parent.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Davis enjoyed hunting and fishing, boating, RVing, and bowling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Bert, Ashland; three daughters, Linda Davis, Ashland, Bettie Clark, Lakeview, and Billie England, Sacramento; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Lee Livingston, in 1991, and Lillie Pauline McCluskey, in 1978; a grandson, John Curtis McCluskey, in 1968; a great-grandson, Michael Everett Taylor, in 1990; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Edith Lee Federici
The memorial service for Edith Lee Federici will be at 2 p.m. May 29 in Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Milwaukie.
Mrs. Federici, 78, of Milwaukie, formerly of Medford, died May 19, 1999, in Milwaukie.

She was born Edith Whillock on Jan. 5, 1921, in Medford, a daughter of Charles A. and Edith C. (Hamm) Whillock.
On Dec. 31, 1939, she married Leo E. Hoag. They later divorced.
On Aug. 23, 1980, at Wallowa Lake, she married Paul A. Federici, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Federici was the owner and founder of Center Line International Commercial Real Estate in Portland. She retired in 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Rob Hoag, West Linn, and Steve Hoag, Aloha; a sister, Alpha Crews, Palo Alto, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou Reisinger
The memorial service for Mary Lou Reisinger will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford. Pastor Paul B. Robinson of the Medford Congregational Church will officiate.

Mrs. Reisinger, 71, of Medford, died Sunday (May 23, 1999), in Medford.
She was born Mary L. Mathy on Aug. 28, 1927, in Detroit. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1961 from La Crosse, Wis.
On April 13, 1976, in Medford, she married Richard Lee Reisinger, who survives.
She was an antique dealer and collector.
Mrs. Reisinger was a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League and a past president of RVMC auxiliary.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Michael Wertz, Albany; two daughters, Linda Montgomery, Medford, and Katherine Thompson, Eugene,; a brother, Charles Mathy, La Crosse, Wis.; a sister, Patricia Bronson, Alexandria, Minn.; and four grandchildren.

`Libby' Worcester
Elizabeth `Libby' Worcester, 87, of Ashland, died Sunday (May 23, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center. A private service is planned.

Mrs. Worcester enjoyed sewing, crafts and playing the organ.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, Ashland; three daughters, Patty Duggan, Ashland, Nancy Rogers, Talent, and Dani Biggs, Prescott Valley, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Maxine Eleanor Bex
The memorial service for Maxine Eleanor Bex will be at noon Thursday in Heritage Chapel in the Prineville Funeral Home. Pastor Dusty Flegel will officiate.
Inurnment will be at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
Mrs. Bex, 75, of Prineville, formerly of Medford, died of cancer Friday (May 21, 1999) at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville.
She was born Maxine Vessey on Jan. 22, 1924, in Clayton, Kan. She was a 1941 Medford High School graduate.
Mrs. Bex worked in the shipyards in Portland during World War II.
She lived in Prineville from 1967 until 1979, when she moved to Medford. She then moved to Christmas Valley and returned to Prineville in December 1996.
Mrs. Bex enjoyed reading, quilting, dancing and collecting books and antiques.
Survivors include a son, Marshall L. III, Bend,; four daughters, Sandy Searcy, Medford, Linda Wood and Marla L. Stafford, both Prineville, Maxine Kinney and Inge Goodson, both Tennessee; two stepsons, Jeff and Frank Whitton, both Prineville; a stepdaughter, Becky Sweeny, Portland,; a brother, Donald E. Vessey, Medford; two sisters, Mary J. Simmonds, Medford, and Virginia Drake, Beaverton; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Wood; and a brother, Herbert Vessey.

H. Price Shafer
The memorial service for H. Price Shafer will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church in Medford. Pastor Tim Tiffany of the First Christian Church will officiate, assisted by Mr. Shafer's brother, the Rev. Lee Shafer, retired, of the Disciples of Christ Church.
Mr. Shafer, 83, of Medford, died Saturday (May 22, 1999) at his home.

Mr. Shafer was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Sunnyside, Wash. He moved to Medford from Sunnyside as a young boy. He graduated from Medford High School in 1934.
On Sept. 25, 1940, in Medford, he married Agnes M. Dunford, who survives.
Mr. Shafer was an assistant hotel manager for 13 years. He then worked for U.S. Bank for 13 years, and went on to work for the U.S. Forest Service at the Prospect and Butte Falls ranger stations until his retirement in 1980.
He was a Boy Scout and Explorer Scout Leader. Mr. Shafer was a member of the First Christian Church.
He was active in bowling and softball leagues in Medford, and enjoyed reading and playing cards.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six sons, Stephen, Eagle Point, Brian, Medford, Dan, Butte Falls, John, Moro, Frank, Elkton, and Howard, Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Patricia Scruggs, Portland, and Priscilla Gibbens, Chico, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Bernard, Medford; two brothers, Lee, Newberg, and James, Norman, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Everett.
Friends may pay their respects from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Siskiyou Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford.
Luella May Hodge
The graveside service for Luella May Hodge will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sterlingville Cemetery, Jacksonville. The Rev. John Dungey will officiate.
Mrs. Hodge, 86, of Jacksonville and Sterling Creek, died Saturday (May 22, 1999) at her daughter's home.
She was born Luella Hulse on July 3, 1912, near Flora. The family later moved to Eagle, Idaho.
She enjoyed flowers, searching for mushrooms and plants for her garden, hunting and fishing, and music.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Ainsworth, Milton-Freewater, Esther M. Marple, Grants Pass, and Beatrice Downs, Jacksonville; two sons, Richard H. Kivett, Richland, Wash., and Robert Hodge, Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis W. Hodge; and three infant sons.
Friends may pay their respects from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Perl-Siskiyou Funeral Services, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford.
Harold `Hal' Slaikjer
The funeral Mass for Harold `Hal' Slaikjer will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point. The Rev. Jim Clifford will officiate.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Siskiyou Chapel at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Slaikjer, 62, of Medford, died Friday (May 21, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Tulare, Calif.
On Dec. 16, 1961, in Santa Monica, Calif., he married Susan M. Chandler, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1968 from San Bruno, Calif.
Mr. Slaikjer was an inside sales representative for Aeroquip/Vickers Corporation, a manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders, in White City. He retired in 1993.
Mr. Slaikjer served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
He enjoyed travel, photography, and camping.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Donna Eisenstein, Medford, and Deanna Gomez, New Providence, N.J.; a son, David, Portland; a sister, Louise Granados, San Rafael, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
