Jack R. McKay
A memorial gathering for Jack R. McKay will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the home of his grandson, 997 Beeson Lane, Talent.
Mr. McKay, 70, of Phoenix, died Sunday (May 30, 1999) at his home.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1928, in Coquille. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Roseburg in 1963.
On June 1, 1966, in Reno, Nev., he married Celia Unruh, who survives.
Mr. McKay owned and operated Jack McKay's Logging. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Allen, Winston; two daughters, Donnis Wilder of Winston and Lenita Franklin of Woodbridge, Va.; two stepdaughters, Charlotte Joseph of Phoenix and Valerie Moore of Eureka, Calif.; two sisters, Ellen Davenport of Cashmere, Wash., and Lois Britton of Oroville, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Carroll B. Johnson
The memorial service for Carroll Barclay Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Medford Friends Church, 525 DeBarr Ave. Pastor Lance Garrett will officiate.
Mr. Johnson, 83, of Central Point, died Saturday (May 29, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1915, in Hedrick, Iowa. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1946.
On March 1, 1950, in Reno, Nev., Mr. Johnson married Jessie Mae James Hansen, who survives.
He worked for Medford Corp. for 25 years before retiring in 1977. He also was a member of the Medford Friends Church. He enjoyed fishing, rock collecting and electronics.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, David Hansen of Phoenix and Richard Johnson of Milwaukie; four daughters, Kay Heath of Klamath Falls, Rose Marie McCann of Central Point, Sonja Roberts of Medford and Janet McClurg of Lynnwood; a sister, Wilma Lawson of Rogers, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Sarah Minnie Leingang
Sarah Minnie Leingang, 83, of Medford, died Friday (May 28, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Sugar City, Idaho.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Woodall, Central Point, and Joyce Pierce, Medford; and one grandchild.

Robert O. Henderson
Robert Orville Henderson, 83, of Applegate, died Thursday (May 27, 1999) at his home. No service is planned.
He was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Everett, Wash.
Mr. Henderson was a builder and iron worker.
Survivors include a son, Michael Giudici, Applegate, two daughters, Susan Henderson, Jackson, Calif., and Judy Kirken, Aptos, Calif.; a sister, Evelyn Merryman, Applegate; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Joan Jody Semin
Joan Jody Semin, 63, of Medford, died Wednesday (May 26, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service will be held later. Interment will be in Jefferson City, Mo.
She was born Joan Byram on Nov. 16, 1935, in Jefferson City, Mo.
On Dec. 23, 1960, in Denver, she married Roger Semin, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984.
Mrs. Semin was the owner and operator of Tour-Riffic Tours in Medford.
She enjoyed reading mysteries and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Shane, Medford; a daughter, Deah Semin, Medford; and a sister, Bernice Zimmerman, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Ford `Pat' Patterson
The memorial service for Ford "Pat" Patterson will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rogue Valley Community Church in Rogue River.
Mr. Patterson, 75, of Rogue River, died Thursday (May 27, 1999) at Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass.

He was born July 23, 1923, in Zanesville, Ohio.
Mr. Patterson retired in 1982 from Patterson Plumbing Corp.
He served on the Rogue River School Board for 13 years and the Valley of the Rogue Bank board for 12 years.
He was active in Rogue Valley Community Church, where he served as an elder and teacher. He also served on national, state and local boards for Child Evangelism Fellowship and made 14 trips to the Philippines encouraging youth ministries.
Survivors, include his wife, Eileen, Rogue River; two sons, Dennis and John; two daughters, Karen Gail and Teresa Wilhelmi; a sister, Ada Mayfield; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Grants Pass.
Henry H. Halvorsen
The funeral for Henry H. Halvorsen will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Chapel in Medford. Officers and members of Jacksonville Warren Masonic Lodge 10 will officiate. Entombment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
Mr. Halvorsen, 92, of Medford, died Thursday (May 27, 1999) in Medford.

He was born June 2, 1906, in Ione.
On Aug. 8, 1930, in Pendleton, he married Margaret M. Cargill, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Pendleton in 1941.
Mr. Halvorsen was a repairman for Pacific Northwest Bell in Pendleton and Medford from 1929 until his retirement in 1965.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves during World War II.
Mr. Halvorsen wrote two books on the history of Jacksonville Warren Masonic Lodge 10, where he was a 50-year member and past master.
He enjoyed genealogical research and researched and wrote the Padberg/Halvorsen family histories.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Donna Carredgan, Medford, and Carole Rosenbalm, Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Neil J. Schroeder
Neil J. Schroeder, 66, of Medford, died Monday (May 24, 1999) at his home. A private service will be held. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City.

Mr. Schroeder was born on Sept. 14, 1932, in Portland.
On Oct. 12, 1952, in Oregon City, he married Mary Ballard. They later divorced. She survives him.
Mr. Schroeder moved to the Rogue Valley from Milwaukie in 1962. He worked for 35 years with United Grocer, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Southern Oregon Antique and Collectibles Club.
Survivors include two sons, George Schroeder of Medford and Mark Schroeder of Springfield; and seven grandchildren.

Mae N. Challman
Mae N. Challman, 82, of Medford, died Sunday (May 23, 1999) at her son's home in Ashland. A private service was held. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

She was born Mae Carmak on March 2, 1917, in Bicknell, Ind.
In Los Angeles, she married Kenneth Eugene Challman, who died in 1997. They moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from Anaheim, Calif.
Mrs. Challman was a homemaker.
She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the beach.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Caulkins, Medford; two sons, Shady, Ashland, and Dennis, Encinitas, Calif.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
