Joyce Elaine Bieg
The graveside service for Joyce Elaine Bieg will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Lou Snyder of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
Mrs. Bieg, 69, of Medford, died Monday (June 14, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Joyce Sanger on March 12, 1930, in Duluth, Minn.
On Sept. 20, 1949, in Hawthorne, Nev., she married Arnold W. Bieg, who died in 1992.
She moved to the Rogue Valley from San Francisco in 1972.
Mrs. Bieg worked as a licensed practical nurse at Southern Pacific Railroad Hospital in San Francisco. She was active in the Disabled American Veterans.
She enjoyed arts and crafts.
Survivors include a son, James Sanger, Eagle Point; a daughter, Karon Coburn, Elk City, Idaho; a sister, Carol Sanger, Phoenix; four brothers, Richard Sanger, Gold Hill, Jim Sanger and Art Stevens, both Medford, and Dan Tobin, in Kentucky; five grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Sanger, and four brothers, Charlie Stevens, Kenneth Sanger, Ted Sanger and Fred Sanger.

Catherine Coleman
The graveside service for Catherine Elizabeth Stark Coleman will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cove Cemetery in Cove in Union County.
Mrs. Coleman, 46, of Cove, formerly of Butte Falls, died Wednesday (June 9, 1999) at her home.

She was born Catherine Stark on Sept. 14, 1952, in Redlands, Calif. She moved to Southern Oregon in 1968.
On Sept. 21, 1974, in Medford, she married David Wayne Coleman, who survives. They moved to Cove in 1995 from Butte Falls.
Mrs. Coleman was a 1970 graduate of Eagle Point High School. She attended Southern Oregon State College for two years and graduated from Oregon State University in 1975 with a degree in agriculture.
She sewed kites from her home for White Bird Kites of Ashland.
Mrs. Coleman was a 4-H leader in Jackson County for eight years. She was active with the Home Extension in Cove.
She enjoyed crafts, needlework, animals and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Beth Coleman, Cove; a son, Robert, Cove; and her parents, Bruce and Nancy Stark, Cove.

Earl Wade Tollefson
The memorial graveside service for Earl Wade Tollefson will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Flo Bohnert will officiate.
Mr. Tollefson, 58, of White City, died Saturday (June 12, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born May 14, 1941, in Brainerd, Minn.
On May 12, 1969, in Edmonds, Wash., he married Donna LaMarche, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Edmonds in 1973.
Mr. Tollefson worked for Boise Cascade mill as a dryer tender. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1833 in Medford.
He enjoyed bowling, golf, softball and trips to the coast.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Steve Tollefson and John Burlingame, both Medford; two daughters, Lora McNew, Central Point, and Teri Willson, Longview, Wash.; three brothers, Herm Tollefson, Sunnyside, Wash., Terry Tollefson, Lynnwood, Wash., and Butch Holm, Everett, Wash.; four sisters, Nancy Elwell, Lynnwood, Wash., Pat Day, Grapeview, Wash., and Jo Brown and Wendy Biddle, both of Everett, Wash.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Tollefson.

Norman Leslie Proffitt
The graveside memorial service for Norman Leslie Proffitt will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Chuck Tiffee of White City Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Proffitt, 77, of White City, died Saturday (June 12, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Jamestown, N.D.
On Sept. 19, 1964, in Covina Calif., he married Florence M. Henry, who survives.
He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1980 from Baldwin Park, Calif.
Mr. Proffitt served in World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1968.
He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1833.
He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Garry Henry Sr., Oroville, Calif.; two half sisters, Florence Bradford, Otis, and Bessie Marenda, South Dakota; and six grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.
James Byron Woodruff
The funeral for James "Jim" Byron Woodruff will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Conger-Morris downtown chapel. Pastor Bob Roth of First Church of the Nazarene, Medford, will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Woodruff, 90, of Medford, died Friday (June 11, 1999) at Hearthstone Nursing Center.
He was born May 21, 1909, at Two Rivers, Wash.
On Aug. 21, 1969, in Reno, Nev., he married Velma L. Sullivan, who survives. He moved to Medford in 1974 from San Francisco.
Mr. Woodruff worked for Pacific Gas and Electric in San Francisco for 47 years. He retired as a supervisor in 1974.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Donald, San Rafael, Calif.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Dorothy Fay McCauley
The memorial service for Dorothy Fay McCauley will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 16800 D. Jones Road in Sams Valley. Rev. John Braund of First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix will officiate.
Mrs. McCauley, 83, of Sams Valley, died Friday (June 11, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.

She was born Dorothy Fay Holt on March 9, 1916, in Tucumcair, N.M. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1965 from Sacramento, Calif.
On Feb. 25, 1933, in Frederick, Okla., she married Marshall Eugene McCauley, who survives.
Mrs. McCauley owned and operated her own restaurant and had also worked as a cook for the Red Baron Restaurant in Medford. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and family gatherings.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Ken McCauley of Graham, Wash., and Jerry McCauley of Sams Valley; a daughter, Carol L. Nimmo of Lodi, Calif.; a sister, Marjorie Price of Woodland, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Evelyn L. Gimbolo
The memorial service for Evelyn L. Gimbolo will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Perl Funeral Service's Siskiyou Chapel. The Rev. John Braund of Phoenix First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in Siskiyou Mausoleum.
Mrs. Gimbolo, 80, of Medford, died Friday (June 11, 1999) in Medford Rehabilitation.

She was born Evelyn Leonard on June 23, 1918, in Weed, Calif. As a young girl she lived in McCloud, Calif., where her mother, aunt and uncle operated the McCloud Hotel. The family moved to Medford in 1926, where she graduated from Medford High School.
At age 16, she attended what is now known as Oregon State University.
In 1939, she married Franklin VanPelt, who died in 1963.
On July 3, 1965, in Portland, she married Frank C. Gimbolo, who survives.
Mrs. Gimbolo was a secretary for Glen Jackson, the former manager of Copco, now Pacific Power. In 1964, she began a career with the Bureau of Land Management, and received many awards for outstanding performance. She retired in 1995 after 31 years of service.
She enjoyed sewing, golf and travel.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Aleksei and Gregory, both Portland; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Frank VanPelt II, and a grandson.

Andrew `Andy' Mead
The graveside service for Andrew "Andy" Mead will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Rev. Freer of Prospect Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Mead, 68, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (June 10, 1999) in Medford.
He was born March 4, 1931, in Fort Laramie, Wyo.
On Oct. 24, 1953, in Visalia, Calif., he married Nola Reid, who preceded him in death.
He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1957 from Visalia, Calif.
Mr. Mead was a mill worker at Burrill Lumber Co. for 35 years. He retired in 1994.
He was a member of the National Guard for eight years.
Mr. Mead enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, David J., White City, and Clifford, Phoenix; a daughter, Darla Mead, Salem; four brothers, Melvin, Rogue River, Clyde, Richland, Wash., Joe, Ivanhoe, Calif., and Glen, San Antonio; two sisters, Wyoma Huffman, Central Point, and Elsie Blunt, Visalia, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and James.
