Joe W. Waltz
The memorial service for Joe W. Waltz will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eastwood Baptist Church, Medford.

Mr. Waltz, 85, of Post Falls, Idaho, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Monday (June 14, 1999) in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
He was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Greeley, Colo.
On Jan. 4, 1942, in Las Vegas, he married Dorothy Davis, who survives. They moved to Shady Cove in 1944 from Los Angeles and lived in the Rogue Valley until recently moving to Post Falls.
Mr. Waltz was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being a mentor to young people.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Ron, Post Falls; two daughters, Judy Lotz and Janice Thomas, both of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Harriet Watson, Renton, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

John Joseph Gayaldo
The graveside service for John Joseph Gayaldo will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Gayaldo, 66, of White City, died Monday (June 14, 1999) at his home.
He was born on May 25, 1933, in Rockland, Calif.
On March 15, 1960, in Reno, he married Donna Mae Peterson, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 28 years ago from California.
Mr. Gayaldo was a self-employed carpenter in Oregon and California and a member of the California and Oregon carpenters unions.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed custom home building, fishing and hunting.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, John A. Gayaldo, Beaverton; Mark E. Veil, Vacaville, Calif., and David Allen Gayaldo, Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, William, Eagle Point, and Frank, Lodi, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Veil.

Helen Elleta Baker
Helen Elleta Baker, 89, of Jacksonville, died Saturday (June 12, 1999) at a foster care home in Medford. No service is planned. Inurnment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in California.
She was born Helen Elleta Whitney, on Oct. 26, 1909, in Hudson, Mich.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in September 1998 from San Antonio, Texas.
Mrs. Baker worked as a county clerk for San Bernadino County, California, until she retired.
Survivors include, a son, Phillip Baker, Jacksonville; six grandchildren; and three great grand-children. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Daniel James Smith
The memorial service for Daniel James Smith will at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Medford. Pastors David Croy and Mike Friend will officiate.
Mr. Smith, 44, of Medford, died Saturday (June 12, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born on March 10, 1955, at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Fla.
On Feb. 12, 1977, in Agoura, Calif., he married Diane Denise Ellingboe, who survives.
Mr. Smith signed with the San Francisco Giants after having been drafted in the first round.
After suffering a shoulder injury, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1976-1982, in active service and reserve.
Mr. Smith served 18 years as a federal firefighter at Peterson Air Force Base, Minot Air Force Base, Dallas-Fort Worth International and the Dallas Naval Air Station.
He was the director of operations for the Timberjacks and coached for the Fred Hermann Baseball School.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, David, Medford; his father, Jesse James Smith, and his wife, Nancy, Grants Pass; and two brothers, Scott, Grants Pass, and Todd, Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Mae Smith.

Helen Borello
The graveside service for Helen Borello will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Rev. Liam Cary of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate.
Mrs Borello, 90, of Baker City, formerly of Medford, died Sunday, (June 13, 1999) at her son's home in Sumpter.

She was born Helen Correa on Jan. 25, 1909, in San Francisco.
On April 27, 1927, in San Francisco, she married Albert Borello, who died in 1967. They lived in Medford for many years. She moved to Baker City in 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Sumpter, and Rusty, Wasilla, Alaska; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, and a sister, Del.

Sherri L. Wiseman
The memorial service for Sherri LeeAnn Wiseman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Unity Church, 540 N. Holly St., Medford. The Rev. Beverly McPherron will officiate.
Miss Wiseman, 17, of Talent, died Friday (June 11, 1999) in Medford following an accident.
She was born Sept. 24, 1981, in Bullhead City, Ariz. She moved to Central Point nine years ago from California, and recently moved to Talent.
Miss Wiseman was a student of the Crossroads Alternative School and was a member of the 1999 graduating class.
She was an artist and writer, and enjoyed children. Survivors include her mother, Jenny Lynn Remley, Talent; her father, James Wiseman, Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Adam, Kansas City, and Brandon, Riverside, Calif.; grandfather, Alvin Fuller, Torrance, Calif.; and great-grandmother, Esther Bragg, Carson, Calif.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Perl Funeral Service-Siskiyou Chapel, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford.
Thomas David Gillich
The memorial service for Thomas David Gillich will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Ruch Community Bible Church. The Rev. Ron McKay will officiate.
Mr. Gillich, 47, of Central Point, died Tuesday (June 15, 1999) at his home.
He was born July 13, 1952, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
On Sept. 11, 1976, in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., he married Gail Costigan, who survives.
Mr. Gillich was employed as a box office manager and maintenance man for Dogs for the Deaf.
He was a member of the Ruch Community Bible Church, Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and snow skiing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Krista Jean Gillich and Jennifer Lee Gillich, both Central Point; his mother, Betty Gillich, Riverside, Calif.; father, Richard, Covina, Calif.; two brothers, Terry, Apple Valley, Calif., and Tim, Hacienda Heights, Calif.; and a sister, Christine Moore, Covina.

Marvin D. Hoots
The memorial service for Marvin D. Hoots will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Central Valley Chapel. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Hoots, 93, of Central Point died Sunday (June 13, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 21, 1903, in Yadkin, N.C.
On May 15, 1948, in Bergenfield, N.J., he married Florence Cave, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1969.
Mr. Hoots worked as a mechanic for Big Y Garden Center, Hubbards Ace Hardware and Crater Chain Saw.
He enjoyed hunting, raising bird dogs and tinkering.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Roseann Claflin, Medford; two sons, Edward S., Arlington, Wash., and Jack S., Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Joyce Vestal, in North Carolina; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
