Richard L. Bartlett
The graveside service for Richard Lee Bartlett will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Scenic Hills Memorial Park in Ashland. Pastor Rick Baumgartner of the World Wide Church of God will officiate.
Mr. Bartlett, 69, of Central Point, died Sunday (June 20, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford.
He was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa.
On May 26, 1965, in St. Augustine, Fla., he married Maxine Miller, who survives. He moved from Iowa to Arizona in 1979, and to Medford in 1986.
Mr. Bartlett was a truck driver for the Arizona Tank Lines, a division of Ruan Trucking.
He enjoyed camping and yard work.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Terry Lee Bartlett, Central Point, Bret Lee Bartlett, Phoenix, Ariz., and Russell M. Emery, Fort Meyers, Fla.; three daughters, Teresa Harris, Phoenix, Roxane Y. Elings, Des Moines, Iowa, and Rhonda G. Dingman, Coronado, Calif; two sisters, Shirley Warden, Sioux City, Iowa, and Beverly Marks, Van Nuys, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Troy A. Bartlett.

Edward Paul Barnett
The funeral for Edward Paul Barnett will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Medford. The Rev. David W. Croy will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Barnett, 83, of Medford, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at the veterans hospital in Roseburg.

He was born Dec. 4, 1915, in Flat Rock, Ind. He attended Indiana University in 1939 and 1940. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Indianapolis in 1942.
On July 4, 1975, in Camptonville, Calif., he married Sandra Allene Elrod, who survives.
Mr. Barnett was broadcasting manager for KBES TV (now KOBI Channel 5), KMED (now KTVL) Channel 10 and KSYS Channel 8.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and during the Korean War.
Mr. Barnett was a life member of Kiwanis International. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Medford.
Mr. Barnett enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Gregory C., Roseburg; a daughter, Kimbra A. Barnett, Portland; five sisters, Virginia Price and Jean Allen, both Indianapolis, Louise Nagle, Chicago, Pam Douglas, Ohio, and Candy Barnett, Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Saunders, in 1978; and a sister.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors in Medford.
Charles James Thomas
The memorial service for Charles James Thomas will be held at 11 a.m. today at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The family will lead the service.
Mr. Thomas, 68, of Medford, died June 12, 1999, near Baker City.

He was born March 18, 1931, in San Francisco.
On Dec. 10, 1977, in Yreka, Calif., he married Billianne Bell, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 31 years ago from California.
Mr. Thomas was an elementary school teacher at Washington and Jackson Schools. He briefly taught at South Medford High School.
He enjoyed flying and teaching Hispanic children to speak English.
Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a pilot. He served during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Meggan Jensen, Medford, Ellen Thomas, Portland, Lisa Buoy, Roseburg, and Theresa Payant, Sacramento, Calif.; three brothers, Edmond, Santa Rosa, Calif., Robert, Siren, Wis., and Walter, in California; and five grandchildren.

Clara B. Neville
The graveside service for Clara B. Neville will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Neville, 87, of Medford, died Saturday (June 19, 1999) in the Medford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born Clara Williams on Sept. 2, 1911, in Fayetteville, Ark. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Gilroy, Calif.
Mrs. Neville was a lifelong nurse.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Gillmore, Medford, and Loretta Morrow, Gilroy, Calif.; a son, Leon Cunningham, Houston; a sister, Elizabeth McDonald, Sperry, Okla.; a brother, Jack Williams, Danville, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.

Wilma Jean Amos
The memorial service for Wilma Jean Amos will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Rogue Valley Fellowship, 2373 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. Pastor Jay Wolfman will officiate.
Mrs. Amos, 73, of Medford, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at her home.
She was born Wilma Jean Sauer on June 5, 1926, in Medford, a daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Gonser) Sauer. She lived in the Rogue Valley her entire life.
On June 24, 1950, in Phoenix, she married Arthur Amos, who died in 1964.
Mrs. Amos enjoyed building things out of wood, including tables and birdhouses.
Survivors include two daughters, Nila Hurd and Carol Harmon, both White Ciy; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A son, Russell, died in 1993.

William E. Kavasch
A memorial service for William E. "Bill" Kavasch will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Elsie Butler Hall at Horton Plaza, 1122 Spring St., Medford. The Rev. Bunny Oliver of the First United Methodist Church of Medford will officiate.
Mr. Kavasch, 81, of Medford, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion No. 15 baseball team, 2330 N. Pacific Highway, Medford, OR 97501.
He was born June 12, 1918, in Philadelphia.
On Aug. 13, 1943, in Houston, he married Helen "Lu" Storey, who survives.
Mr. Kavasch was a mechanical engineer at McDonnell Douglas Corp. in Huntington Beach, Calif., retiring after 30 years. He moved to the Rogue Valley nine years ago.
During his career, he was involved with the Apollo, Gemini, Saturn and Thor space projects. After retirement, he returned to school and received a degree in petroleum engineering.
Mr. Kavasch was a major in the Army air force during World War II.
He was a supporter of the Medford Mustangs American Legion baseball team, where he was known as Grandpa Wolcott.
Mr. Kavasch was a master gardener and a world traveler.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, James Kavasch, Medford; a daughter, Jill Wolcott, Medford; a brother, Ralph Kavasch, Fremont, Calif.; a sister, Irene Adams, Torrance, Calif.; three grandchildren: and one great-grandson.

W. Boyden Charley
The memorial Mass for W. Boyden Charley will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland.
Mr. Charley, 86, of Phoenix, died Saturday (June 19, 1999) at his home.

He was born June 17, 1913, in Medford, a son of Bertha and Walter Charley.
On Dec. 26, 1990, in Grants Pass, he married Bernice Baird, who survives.
Mr. Charley worked for Rellim Redwood Lumber Co. of Crescent City, Calif., for 27 years. He moved to Ashland in 1976 following his retirement. He moved to Phoenix in 1990.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Mr. Charley enjoyed bowling in the Rogue Bowling League, the Starfires Bowling League and the Ashland Match Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Timothy J. and Bryan M., both Medford, Robert W., Tempe, Ariz., Thomas G., Blue Lake, Calif.; two daughters, Gina M. Clyburn, Medford, and Nadine C. Schonenberger, Citrus Heights, Calif.; two brothers, Clint, Medford, and Lincoln, Central Point; six sisters, Garrel Millard, Eunice Richardson and Ruby Pruett, all of Medford, Rose Young, Talent, Clarabell Storm, Central Point, and Opal Monia, White City; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two wives, Zelma and Norma; two brothers; and a sister.

Earl Mix
The graveside service for Earl Mix will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Chaplain Paul Hagedorn will officiate.
Mr. Mix, 64, of Central Point, died Thursday (June 17, 1999) at his home.
He was born May 26, 1935, in Berkeley, Calif.
On June 30, 1978, in Reno, Nev., he married Mary Nell Wilson, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 30 years ago from Reno. In 1987, he moved to Central Point.
Mr. Mix was a supervisor in the packing house at Bear Creek Corp. for 26 years, retiring in 1998.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957.
Mr. Mix was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Lodge No. 2093, for 20 years.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and collecting frogs.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Eric E., Roseville, Calif., and Steven L., Salem,; three daughters, Susan Gardner, Salem, Marylu Bowers, Eugene, and Lynda D. Ruiz, Reno, Nev.; a sister, Kathleen Smallwood, Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
