John David Swirbel
The memorial service for John David Swirbel will be at 3 p.m. today in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Swirbel, 43, of Eagle Point, died Tuesday (June 15, 1999) at his home.
He was born July 2, 1955, in Passaic, N.J. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1966 from Passaic.
Mr. Swirbel was a house painter and handyman.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1974.
He enjoyed fixing bicycles.
Survivors include a daughter, Aarin Swirbel, and a son, Evan, both of Pennsylvania; his mother, Andrea Swirbel, Hazelton, Pa.; and a sister, Terry Ann Frith, Clifton, N.J. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; and two brothers.

Glenn Hunsaker
The graveside service for Glenn Hunsaker will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Hunsaker, 75, of Nampa, Idaho, formerly of Eagle Point, died Sunday (June 20, 1999) in Nampa.

Dennis R. Barnard
The memorial service for Dennis Raymond Barnard will be at 2 p.m. today in the Medford Gospel Mission.
Mr. Barnard, 48, of Medford, died Saturday (June 19, 1999) at his home.

He was born Aug. 15, 1950, in Coos Bay. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Coos Bay as a child.
Mr. Barnard and his father operated Barnard Floor Cover in the Rogue Valley for many years. He also worked for other flooring installers in the Rogue Valley.
He enjoyed people and gardening.
Survivors include two sisters, Patty Garcia, Denver, and Debbie Dahl, Maple Lake, Minn.

Esther M. Stevens
Esther M. Stevens, 68, of Phoenix, died Monday (June 21, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Esther Marie Anderson on Oct. 15, 1930, in Grand Junction, Colo.
On Dec. 16, 1953, in Astoria, she married Allan Stevens, who survives.
Mrs. Stevens was a member of the Rainbow Girls and Theta Rho when she was growing up. She graduated from Tillamook High School.
She enjoyed computers and sewing.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Jerry L., Tracy, Calif., and Jim, Torrance, Calif.; a daughter, Judy L. Stevens, Tracy, Calif.; a sister, Flora Duley, Isleton, Calif.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Jessie Lockwood
The memorial service for Jessie Edmonds Lockwood will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Central Valley Chapel. Pastor Johnny Lay of Foothills Baptist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Lockwood, 87, of Medford, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Jessie Pierce on Jan. 21, 1912, in Wilbur. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Chiloquin in 1929.
On April 1, 1989, in Medford, she married Lawrence Lockwood, who survives.
Mrs. Lockwood was a homemaker.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Shirley Meilicke and Louise Jackson, both of Eagle Point; a stepdaughter, Virginia Haskell, Santa Rosa, Calif; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Edmonds; a daughter, Cora Lee Edmonds; and a stepson, Jack Edmonds.

Jack Earl Edmonds
Jack Earl Edmonds, 76, of Medford, died Monday (June 21, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

He was born May 11, 1923, in Portland. He grew up in Medford, and graduated from Medford High School in 1941.
On June 24, 1949, in Oakland, he married Dona M. Bales, who survives.
Mr. Edmonds and his wife owned and operated Rogue Trailer Sales in Medford for 10 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received the Philippines Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star, and the Victory Medal.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Nancy Brewold Johnson, Medford, and Barbara Encinas, Sonora, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Everett `Finley' Wright
The graveside service for Everett "Finley" Wright will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Alpha Cemetery in Onalaska, Wash.
Mr. Wright, 74, of Medford, formerly of Onalaska, died Friday (June 18, 1999) in the Medford Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Julesburg, Colo.
Mr. Wright worked for several sawmills in the Lewis County, Wash., area. He moved to Medford 23 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Wright was a member of the Sawmills Workers Union.
He attended the Community Presbyterian Church in Onalaska, Wash., and the Presbyterian Church in Medford.
He enjoyed old guns.
Survivors include two sisters, Lela Audrey Wright and Agnes Vivian Wilson, both of Napavine, Wash.; two brothers, Lloyd Leon, Bremerton, Wash., and Chester Howard, Edmonds, Wash. He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Hoffman.

Mabel E. Mitchell
The memorial service for Mabel Essie Mitchell will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Her cousin, Mike Russell, of El Paso, Texas, will officiate.
Mrs. Mitchell, 83, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (June 20, 1999) in Medford.

She was born Mabel Essie Alford on July 7, 1915, in Ferry Pass, Fla. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1941 from Texas.
On Oct. 5, 1932, in Pensacola, Fla., she married John Henry Mitchell, who died in 1994.
Mrs. Mitchell worked for Standard Oil in Medford during World War II. She also packed pears for many years at S.O.S. Fruit Company and worked as a cook at the Veterans Domiciliary for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni Greb, Eagle Point; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
