Von Melvin Chesnut
The funeral for Von Melvin Chesnut will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Medford. The Rev. Kevin Gowland will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
Mr. Chesnut, 57, of Phoenix, died Tuesday (June 29, 1999) in Medford.

He was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Medford, the son of Leonard and Gladys Chesnut. He lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
On Oct. 19, 1963, in Phoenix, he married Carolyn R. Wells, who survives.
Mr. Chesnut worked for McLaughlin Plumbing of Medford for many years. He and his father co-owned Candlewood Mobile Home Park in Talent.
He served in the U.S. National Guard.
Mr. Chesnut enjoyed history, traveling and helping people.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Chesnut, both Phoenix; and his parents, Leonard and Gladys Chesnut, Phoenix.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Conger-Morris in Medford.
Alice M. Wildenberg
The memorial service for Alice Martha Wildenberg will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Medford. Pastor Henry Zollbrecht of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Medford will officiate.
Mrs. Wildenberg, 90, of Medford, died Tuesday (June 29, 1999) at her home.

She was born Alice Nelson on April 30, 1909, in Greenville, Mich. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1976 from California.
On Sept. 14, 1930, in Lagrange, Ind., she married Fred Wildenberg, who survives.
Mrs. Wildenberg was a homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking, music and socializing with friends and family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Ronda Hollis, Medford; a son, Dave, Kirkland, Wash.; three sisters, Bernice Sweet and Gladys Johnson, both of Battle Creek, Mich., and Frances Gallert, Grand Rapids, Mich.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Nancy Fay Kaylor
The memorial service for Nancy F. Kaylor will be at Thursday, July 8, at the Ashland United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Kaylor, 78, of Talent, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at her home.

She was born Nancy Durham on March 5, 1921, in La Junta, Colo. She moved to Oregon with her family at the age of 2 and was raised in the Griffin Creek area.
On Dec. 3, 1941, in Medford, she married Jay C. Kaylor, who survives.
Mrs. Kaylor was a member of the United Methodist Church and of the women's service club PEO in Ashland. She sang in the church choir and also was a singer elsewhere.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, J. Clifford, Talent, and Talmadge, Medford; a daughter, Lucinda Cope, Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters; and four grandchildren.

Esther Merrill Wise
Esther Merrill Wise, 87, of Ashland, died Monday (June 28, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center, following a brief illness. No service is planned.
She was born Esther Smith on Oct. 16, 1911, in Warwick, N.Y. She received a degree in zoology from Barnard College in New York City in 1934.
Mrs. Wise moved to Atlantic City, N.J., where she worked for many years as a medical technician with Atlantic City Hospital. After leaving Atlantic City Hospital, she worked as a medical assistant and technician for a number of area doctors.
In the 1950s she became a school teacher. She taught in Mixpah, N.J., Absecon, N.J. and Mays Landing Schools District in New Jersey.
Following her retirement, she was active in the American Association of University Women, the American Education Association, the New Jersey Education Association, the American Business Women's Association and the Atlantic City Day Nursery. She also worked to bring casinos to Atlantic City.
She moved to Sams Valley in 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Peter, Sams Valley, and Nicholas, Ashland; a brother, William Merrill, Williamstown, Mass.; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Leo Wise; two brothers; and two step-sisters.

H.A. `Ham' Mauck
The memorial service for H.A. "Ham" Mauck will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church in Medford. The Rev. Joyce DeGraaff will officiate.
Mr. Mauck, 83, of Medford, died June 22, 1999, in Hearthstone.

He was born Dec. 29, 1915, in St. Paul, Minn.
On April 17, 1945, in St. Paul, he married Isabel Gullifer, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Michigan in 1958.
In Michigan and Indiana, he was a Boy Scout executive. In Medford, he owned and operated the Travel Lodge, and was an antique dealer.
He was a member of the Medford Lions Club and the Rogue Valley Yacht Club.
Mr. Mauck was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Medford.
He enjoyed working with wood and refinishing antiques.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, George "Ted" E., Bainbridge Island, Wash.; a daughter, Kathleen "Kim" Hart, Edmonds, Wash.; and a sister, Erika Neihart, St. Paul, Minn.

Lenora `Lee' Clarke
The memorial service for Lenora Ellen "Lee" Clarke will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Her son-in-law, Bishop Ned Hirz of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8th Ward, Moses Lake, Wash., will officiate.
Mrs. Clarke, 79, of Jacksonville, died Monday (June 28, 1999) at her home.
She was born Lenora Ellen Brown on June 8, 1920, in Compromise, Ill. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1939 from Klamath Falls.
Mrs. Clarke was a keypunch operator and data processor for Bear Creek Corp. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Mrs. Clarke enjoyed crocheting, cooking and playing bingo.
Survivors include a son, Dan Cuthbertson, San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Deanna Hirz, Moses Lake, Wash.; two sisters, Netta Rector, Medford, and Alberta Jackson, Lewiston, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clarke; and a brother, Lloyd Brown.

Florence `Lorrie' Smith
Florence "Lorrie" Smith, 65, of Grants Pass, died Sunday (June 27, 1999) at her home. A service has been held.

She was born Florence Carson on April 21, 1934, in Los Angeles. She moved to the Rogue Valley 30 years ago from Los Angeles.
Ms. Smith worked in manufacturing in the aerospace industry in Los Angeles. After moving to Grants Pass, she worked as a clerk for Sham Creek Market and C & K Market.
She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts and shopping, especially garage sales.
Survivors include a son, Dan Oster, Eagle Point; a daughter, Connie Dorman, Wanship, Utah; a sister, Arlene Tacket, Cranfills Gap, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Charity Hawks Cook
Charity Hawks Cook, 30, of Medford, died Friday (June 25, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is planned.
She was born Charity Hawks on June 8, 1969, in Coos Bay.
In December 1991, in Lancaster, Calif., she married Robert Cook, who died in 1996. She lived in the Rogue Valley as a child, and moved to California in 1987. She returned to Medford in 1998.
Mrs. Cook enjoyed art and music.
Survivors include a daughter, Miranda Cook, and two sons, Robert Jr., and Christopher, all Medford; her father, James Hawks, Pistol River; her mother, Sharon Mosley, Redding, Calif; three sisters, Jamie Hawks, Jessica Zeigler, and Teresa Hawks-Hignite, all of Redding, Calif.; and a brother, Donald Morrison, Santa Clarita, Calif.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday in Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
