Ina E. Goldsmith
The memorial service for Ina E. Goldsmith will be at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Charles Christopher will officiate.
Mrs. Goldsmith, 96, of Medford, died Saturday (July 10, 1999) at her home.

She was born Ina Davidson on March 14, 1903, in Sumpter in Baker County.
In 1920, she married H.C. "Goldy" Goldsmith, who died in 1980. She moved to Medford from Southern California in 1929.
She was a waitress at the Hotel Medford and a clerk at J.C. Penney, then operated the first lunch operation for workers at Southern Oregon Sales. Later, the Goldsmiths made dowels out of Port Orford cedar for the arrow shaft industry.
She was active in the Republican party, Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She served as first president of the Scottish Rite Women's Club.
She also was active at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, St. Elizabeth's Guild and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Reinita Jean Welch, Medford; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Goldsmith; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Henry Walter Hulsey
Henry Walter Hulsey, 66, of Cave Junction, died Saturday (July 10, 1999) at Three Rivers Community Hospital, Washington Campus. A private service was held.
He was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Durante, Okla.
On Feb. 3, 1954, in Las Vegas, he married Sylvia Osborne, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 22 years ago from Santa Paula, Calif.
Mr. Hulsey worked in the oil fields until his retirement.
He enjoyed crafts, gardening, painting and beautifying his home.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Shelley Hults, Cave Junction; a son, Walter Allen, Grants Pass; two brothers, Harlus H., Piru, Calif., and Cecil C., Bakersfield, Calif.; three sisters, Opal Woods, Barbara Hulsey and Lorraine Delk, all Porterville, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. A son, Dennis Beachball Hulsey, died in 1983.

Betty Jane Allen
The memorial service for Betty Jane Allen will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Central Valley Chapel. The Rev. Sam Pacheco of River Valley Fellowship will officiate. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Allen, 71, of Central Point, died Monday (July 12, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation.

She was born Betty Jane Bradley on Feb. 14, 1928, in Seattle. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Seattle in 1945.
On Oct. 8, 1962, in Yreka, Calif., she married David E. Allen, who survives.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Medford.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed fishing and making afghans.
Survivors include six sons, Earl R. Baldwin and Ronald Baldwin, both Medford, Steven Baldwin, White City; David M. Baldwin, Eagle Point, Gary L. Baldwin, Kent, Wash., and Don E. Allen, Eureka, Calif.; four daughters, Dove D. Lengele, Central Point, Kathy Dusenberry, White City, Linda Allen, Boise, Idaho, and Brenda Allen, McKinleyville, Calif.; a brother, Stanley Bradley, Chikota, Okla.; a sister, Helen Unger, Medford; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Unger; and a brother, Frank Bradley.

Delmar W. Wilson
Delmar W. Wilson, 83, of Jacksonville, died Saturday (July 10, 1999) at his home, of cancer. A private service was held.
He was born May 23, 1916, in Urbana, Ill.
On July 20, 1942, in Clayton, Mo., he married Virginia Cummings, who survives.
Mr. Wilson was a tug captain for NCEL in Port Hueneme, Calif., for 25 years, retiring in 1968. He lived in Grants Pass for 13 years before moving to Jacksonville.
He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Wilson enjoyed gardening and animals.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Lyn-Del Province, Fresno, Calif.; a half-brother, Donald Wilson, Champaign, Ill.; a half-sister, June Wible, Urbana, Ill.; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.

Cornelia Ann Tomes
Cornelia Ann Tomes, 94, of Medford, died July 7, 1999, at her home. No service is planned.

She was born Jan. 2, 1905, in Centralia, Wash. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1991 from San Jose, Calif.
Ms. Tomes received a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in 1934; she received a master's degree and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington in 1938. She received her Ph.D in 1942 from Columbia University in New York City, graduating Phi Lambda Theta and Kappa Deta Pi.
Ms. Tomes retired from the position of dean of women at San Jose State University.
She was instrumental in donating to the Fairy Godmothers Society and the cause of saving redwood trees in Northern California.
Ms. Tome enjoyed traveling.

Martha Ellen Fish
The funeral for Martha Ellen Fish will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mrs. Fish, 93, of Ashland, died Monday (July 12, 1999) at Three Fountains Care Center.

She was born Martha Ellen Parr on Sept. 29, 1905, in Texas.
On June 10, 1945, she married Raymond F. Fish, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from Livermore, Calif.
Mrs. Fish worked as a librarian and also for Western Union.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society and was past president of the Providence Hospital Guild.
rs. Fish was a member of the Graphoanalysis Society and enjoyed analyzing handwriting and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Beverly A. Gettling, Ashland; two sons, Raymond F., Moraga, Calif., and Harry E., Hollister, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Barbara Edwards
The memorial service for Barbara M. Edwards will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Rogue Valley Christian Church in Medford. Pastor Bob Rood of Psalm of Life Christian Church in Medford will officiate.
Mrs. Edwards, 67, of Medford, died Wednesday (July 7, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Barbara Crocker on April 18, 1932, in Medford, a daughter of Herbie and Pauline Crocker.
On Aug. 7, 1950, in Eureka, Calif., she married Ray N. "Bill" Edwards, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Edwards was a switchboard operator at Rogue Valley Medical Center until her retirement.
She and her husband operated a ranch for disadvantaged children in Butte Falls for five years.
Mrs. Edwards enjoyed the coast, bingo and dining out.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny, Medford, and Gilbert, Oslo, Norway; a daughter, Kim Coghill, Medford; a brother, Glen Crocker, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; a sister, Louise Cornwall, Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mel Crocker.
