Roger M. Evangelista
The memorial service for Roger Malapit Evangelista will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, South Medford, 953 Garfield Ave., Medford. Steve Talman of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, South Medford Congregation, will officiate.
Mr. Evangelista, 57, of Medford, died July 20, 1999, in Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born April 28, 1942, in Makati, the Philippines.
On Dec. 1, 1984, in Makati, he married Eileen Wray, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 10 years ago from Millard, Neb.
Mr. Evangelista worked in housekeeping at Rogue Valley Medical Center for 10 years.
He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, South Medford Congregation.
Mr. Evangelista enjoyed cooking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Tina Evangelista, Medford; two brothers, Oscar, White City, and Juanito, Makati; and a sister, Guillermina Laberinto, Greenview Village, the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin.

Daniel Brown
The graveside service for Daniel Brown will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Brown, 71, of Eagle Point, died Monday (July 26, 1999) in Eagle Point.
He was born March 1, 1928, in Michigan. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974.
On Aug. 11, 1976, in Elko, Nev., he married Jessie Parrish, who survives.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy. He also served in the U.S. Army in Korea, retiring as a master sergeant.
He was active at the Veterans Affairs Domiciliary, where he supervised ceramics classes for more than 10 years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Daniel, Eagle Point; a daughter, Mary Brown, Roseburg; a stepson, Ross Kahler, Roseburg; a stepdaughter, Penny Kahler, Rogue River; six siblings; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
Earl C. Schilling
The memorial Mass for Earl C. Schilling will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, Ashland. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Schilling, 76, of Ashland, died Sunday (July 25, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.

He was born Oct. 2, 1922, in College Place, Wash., a son of Harvey and Etta Schilling. He was raised in Ashland, and graduated from Ashland High School in 1940.
On June 27, 1953, in Ashland, he married Florence Platko, who survives.
Mr. Schilling worked for Newbry Orchards in the late 1940s. In the 1950s, he worked as a packing plant manager for Friediger Grocery in Ashland. From 1956 to 1968, he was a regional food product salesman for Sunshine Biscuit Company, a Portland-based company. At the time of his retirement, he worked in regional sales for the Edwards/Kauffman Company.
He was a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge, where he was Past Exalted Ruler.
Mr. Schilling enjoyed sports and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Mike, Ashland, and Chris and Steve, both Portland; a daughter, Janet Schilling, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Frances Miller, San Pablo, Calif.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.

Hazel Hilery Jordan
The funeral for Hazel Hilery Jordan will be at noon today at Hull & Hull Chapel in Grants Pass.
Mrs. Jordan, 87, of Rogue River, died Friday (July 23, 1999) at her home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Society of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, in care of the Grants Pass church, 1360 N.E. Ninth St., Grants Pass 97526.
She was born on Feb. 2, 1912, in Ukiah, Calif. In 1917 she and her family moved to Oregon, traveling with a team of horses and a wagon.
In 1930, she married Maurice Jordan, who died in 1970. On May 5, 1971, in Carson City, Nev., she married Fred E. Jordan, who survives.
She enjoyed sewing and was known for her quilts. She also enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and collecting rocks.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Phillip, Ridgefield, Wash., Edward, Central Point, and Dwayne, Chatteroy, Wash., a daughter, Delores Allen, Ridgefield, Wash., three stepsons, Bill Jordan, Grants Pass, James Jordan, Seattle, and Donald Jordan, Eureka, Calif., two stepdaughters, Janet Jordan and Cheryl Christiani, both Seattle, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granchildren,
She was preceded in death by her son Benjamin, and stepson, Charles Jordan.

Harold Albert Kingery
The memorial service for Harold Albert Kingery will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Dick Bull of Eagle Point Community Bible Church will officiate.
Mr. Kingery, 70, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (July 22, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Medford, a son of Benjamin and Mable (Culbertson) Kingery.
On Dec. 19, 1952, in Phoenix, he married E. Irene Perdue, who survives. He was a lifetime Rogue Valley resident.
Mr. Kingery worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation in Eagle Point and Central Point for 45 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Kingery enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Terresa Kingery Olson, Eagle Point; two sons, James, Molalla, and Jack, Metolius; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Kessler.

Meta Lucia Poley
Meta Lucia Poley, 84, of Gold Hill, died July 17, 1999, at her home. No service is planned.
Interment will be in Cypress View Cemetery in Chula Vista, Calif.

She was born Meta Bates on June 27, 1915, in Liberty, Saskatchewan, Canada.
On Oct. 21, 1951, in California, she married Robert B. Poley, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley two years ago from Salem.
Mrs. Poley was a manager for the Bank of America in Calexico, Calif., retiring in 1964. She also worked for the Calexico School District, retiring in 1974.
Mrs. Poley was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Salem.
She enjoyed reading, classical music, traveling and knitting.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth L. Smith, Gold Hill; three brothers, Arthur L. Bates, in Arkansas, Howard L. Bates, in Florida, and Gordon L. Bates, in Oklahoma. Her first husband, Johnny Nunvar, died in 1948. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Adams.

Lorene Alta Self
The graveside service for Lorene Alta Self will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. John Dugey of Central Point will officiate.
Mrs. Self, 87, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (July 22, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 20, 1912, to Morgan Knuckles and Irene Hardison in Morehouse, Mo.
On Oct. 2, 1934, in San Berdino, Calif., she married Eurel Wilson Self, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Self was a homemaker who enjoyed music, gardening and playing Scrabble and bingo.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Corona and Virginia Sale, both Eagle Point; a son, Frank, Eagle Point; a sister, Aileen Cloudt, Washington; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
W. Riale M. Smith
W. Riale M. Smith, 87, of Medford, died Thursday (July 22, 1999) at his home. No service will be held. Burial will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.

Mr. Smith was born Nov. 4, 1911, in Iowa.
He graduated from college in Iowa and spent most of his life in Southern California.
On June 25, 1947, in Seattle, he married Donna R. Nobles, who survives.
The couple moved to the Rogue Valley from Newport Beach, Calif., in 1983.
Mr. Smith enjoyed business and the stock market as well as fishing, hunting and reading. He is a former member of the Rogue Valley Country Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three grandchildren and two nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lelia Marie S.
