Ralph G. Sage
The memorial service for Ralph G. Sage will be at 11 a.m. today in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Fraternal Order of the Eagles, No. 2146, will officiate.
Mr. Sage, 64, of Grants Pass, died Monday (Aug. 16, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1935, in Creswell.
On Dec.8, 1993, in Grants Pass, he married Helen McVey, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1987 from Vacaville, Calif.
Mr. Sage owned Sage Tire Centers in Vacaville, Fairfield and the surrounding Bay area before moving to Grants Pass. He and his wife managed Countryview Mobile Park in Grants Pass.
He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1584 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 2146. He was past president, chaplain and trustee of the Eagles.
Mr. Sage enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and playing cards.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Brad and Jeff, both Grants Pass; a daughter, De Gear, Bend; a stepson, Ron Kelly, Grants Pass; a stepdaughter, Sheri Anderson, Orting, Wash.; two sisters, Bev Maxine, Dexter, and Barbara Thompson, Eugene; two grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Larry Charles Roundy
Larry Charles Roundy, 55, of Rogue River, died Monday (Aug. 16, 1999) at his home. A private service will be held later.

He was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Provo, Utah, a son of Don and Tris Roundy.
On Oct. 25, 1966, he married Loretta G. Price, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 10 months ago from San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Roundy worked for the city of San Jose for 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Roundy enjoyed computers.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Lori Lynn Sanchez, San Jose, Calif., and Stephanie Lea Roundy, Santa Cruz, Calif.; his father, Don A., Mapleton, Utah; a sister, Sharon Kelson, Orem, Utah; three brothers, Randall and Kurt, both Green River, Wyo., and Lyndon, Rand, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

Garland E. Carson
The graveside service for Garland E. Carson will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Carson, 53, of Central Point, died Saturday (Aug. 14, 1999) in Crescent City, Calif.

He was born April 3, 1946, in Albany, a son of Boyd and June Carson. He graduated from Medford High School in 1962, and lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life.
On May 6, 1978, in Reno, Nev., he married Cheryl A. Crawford, who survives.
Mr. Carson was a supervisor for Boise Cascade for 33 1/2 years, retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing and the coast.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Robert Carson, Gold Hill, Garland Carson II, Central Point, and Kevin Crawford, Roseburg; three daughters, Teresa Wilson and Angela Banks, both Central Point, and Jeanne Fortado, Foresthill, Calif.; a brother, Dwight, Mapleton; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister; and two grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.
Joanne R. Shewmaker
Joanne Rose Shewmaker, 66, of Central Point, died Sunday (Aug. 15, 1999) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born Joanne Rose Spolaric on June 20, 1933, in Tacoma, Wash. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1970 from Sylmar, Calif.
Ms. Shewmaker was a bank teller for Valley of the Rogue Bank in Medford, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the Providence Guild.
Ms. Shewmaker enjoyed bingo.
Survivors include three daughters, Bobbi Gillin and Cory Dye, both Central Point, and Diana Bentley, Pahrump, Nev.; five sons, Keith Bentley, Central Point, Dennis Shewmaker, Medford, James Shewmaker, Portland, Michael Bentley, Long Beach, Calif., and David Bentley, Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Shewmaker, in 1999; and by a daughter, Beverley Whitman, in 1997.

Lillie Ruby Clemans
Lillie Ruby Clemans, 86, of Medford, died Saturday (Aug. 14, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
She was born Lillie Stratton on March 21, 1913, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She moved to the Rogue Valley five years ago from Barstow, Calif.
Mrs. Clemans was a homemaker.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading and collecting ceramic figures.
Mrs. Clemans was a member of the Friends Church.
Survivors include a great-nephew, Ralph Clemans of Medford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross L. Clemans.

John `Jack' Lea
The memorial service for John "Jack" Leaf will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. John Braund of the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix will officiate.
Mr. Leaf, 74, of Medford, died Monday (Aug. 16, 1999) at his home.

He was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Minneapolis.
On March 14, 1947, in Medford, he married Margaret "Jean" Gregory, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1997 from Yuba City, Calif.
Mr. Leaf was a route salesman for Foremost Dairies in Yuba City and an ice cream distributor in Chico, Calif. He retired after 40 years.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician's mate 3rd class.
Mr. Leaf was a member of the Southern Baptist Church and the Elks in Chico and Brookings.
He enjoyed golf and RVing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Gary, Medford, and Craig and Doran, both Chico; a daughter, Leanne Eberhardt, Chico, Calif.; a brother, Patrick Monahan, Sedona, Ariz.; two sisters, Molly Russell, Palmdale, Calif., and Bridgett Messer, Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Monahan.

Alden Ardell Marrs
Alden Ardell Marrs, 69, of Medford, died Friday (Aug. 13, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. The memorial service will be held later. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

He was born May 5, 1930, in Los Angeles. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1931, and attended Washington Elementary, McLoughlin Junior High, and Medford High School. He also lived in Alaska.
On Oct. 8, 1978, in Reno, Nev., he married Phyllis Howell, who survives.
Mr. Marrs was self-employed in mobile home sales.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947-1952, during the Korean War.
Mr. Marrs was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Anchorage, Alaska.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and reading.
Survivors include a son, James R. Powell, Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Deborah Kelly, Colfax, Calif., and Connie Mathers and Candace Brewster, both Anchorage; a sister, Millie Perkins, Medford; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Rae Hegne; a brother, Herman Marrs Jr.; and a grandson.

Eugene T. Lount Jr.
Eugene Theodore Lount Jr., 61, of Central Point, died Saturday (Aug. 14, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Patchogue, N.Y., a son of Eugene and Celia Lount.
On Dec. 11, 1965, in Santa Monica, Calif., he married Carol Crawford, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 11 years ago from Horse Creek, Calif.
Mr. Lount was a logger for the U.S. Forest Service.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Lount collected Ertle banks and cookie jars, made duck decoys, and enjoyed amateur flat track motorcycle racing and woodworking.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Charles, Central Point, and Leon Martin, Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Jill Barden, Medford; his mother, Celia Lount, Shady Cove; a brother, Robert, Eagle Point; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Kenneth, his father, Eugene, in June 1999; and a brother, John W., in 1998.
