Dorothy Esther Keck
The funeral for Dorothy Esther Keck will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Cornerstone Christian Church in Medford. Pastor Stan Way will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Keck, 85, of Medford, died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) at her home.

She was born April 7, 1914, in Palmer, Ill., a daughter of George John Wurl and Eliza Jane Lawyer.
In 1942, she married James Harold Keck, who died in 1962. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1994 from Eugene.
Mrs. Keck enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include two sons, John, Medford, and David, Eugene; three daughters, Arline Wilson, Medford, Betty Rule, Sacramento, Calif., and Peggy Stanley, Hawkinsville, Ga.; a brother, Ray Wurl, Florissant, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Groff, Whitefish, Mont.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and one grandson.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Cornerstone Christian Church in Medford.

Barbara Jean Rains
Barbara Jean Rains, 62, of Ashland, died Saturday (Sept. 4, 1999) in Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service was held in Scenic Hills Memorial Park.

She was born Jan. 25, 1937, in Central Point.
Survivors include a sister, Margery Goodman, Medford.

Lester Jean Burnett
Lester Jean Burnett, 79, of Medford, died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) at his daughter's home in Medford. A private service was held.
He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Walthill, Neb., a son of Lester Bryan and Vera Mable Burnett.
On Sept. 18, 1949, in El Monte, Calif., he married Leona Baboryk, who survives. He lived in Sacramento, Calif., for the past 20 years and in Medford on and off, until he moved to his daughter's home in Medford several weeks ago.
Mr. Burnett worked for the State of California as a firefighter for more than 20 years, and as a micro analyst in the General Services Division. He retired in 1982.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Burnett enjoyed model airplanes, sailing and nature.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Nancy Fallgreen, Medford; two sons, Gary, Medford, and Guy, Gustine, Calif.; a brother, Lester, San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Rosemarie Bostic, Cache Creek, British Columbia; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Charles Klutsenbeker
The funeral for Charles Franklin Klutsenbeker will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Medford Friends Church. Pastor Mark Burton will officiate. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
Mr. Klutsenbeker, 94, of Medford, died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) in Medford.

He was born Nov. 14, 1904, in Pawnee County, Oklahoma Territory, a son of Franklin and Mintie (Knisley) Klutsenbeker, and was raised in Oklahoma.
In 1926, in Oklahoma, he married Zella Baker, who died in 1932. He moved to Boise, Idaho in 1933.
On Feb. 4, 1939, in Mountain Home, Idaho, he married Hope M. Martin, who died in 1993. He moved to Kennewick, Wash., in 1951, and to Medford in 1957.
Mr. Klutsenbeker was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for more than 50 years. He delivered meals for the Loaves and Fishes program in the Rogue Valley for many years.
He attended the Medford Friends Church for 40 years, and enjoyed taking care of the church grounds.
Survivors include two sons, Frank Klutsenbeker Jr., Medford, and Kenneth Ray Klutsenbaker, Stillwater, Okla.; two daughters, Cheryl LaDuke, Central Point, and Joyce Barton, Kingwood, Texas; a brother, Dale Klutsenbaker, Whidbey Island, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Delores Stokes and Evelyn "Lyn" Beatty; a son, Clyde Wilbur Klutsenbeker; four sisters, Nora Mufich, Della Dean, Lola Klutsenbaker, and Eva Fisher; and a brother, Paul Klutsenbaker.

Mickie Seigfried
The memorial Mass for Mickie Seigfried will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland. The Rev. Brendan McAnerney will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Chapel of Reflections Columbarium in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
Mrs. Seigfried, 62, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) in Ashland Community Hospital.
She was born Aug. 5, 1937, in San Diego, a daughter of John and Marie Soltis. She graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Long Beach, Calif., in 1955.
On May 4, 1957, in Long Beach, Calif., she married Thomas Seigfried, who survives.
Mrs. Seigfried worked for Farmers and Merchants Bank of Long Beach from 1955 to 1995. She began her career as a teller and retired as an assistant vice president.
She moved to Ashland in 1995, and was a volunteer with the Ashland Police Department, doing both office work and Plaza foot patrols.
Mrs. Seigfried was an avid reader and "Jeopardy" game show enthusiast.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Christy Schueller, Ashland; her parents, John and Marie Soltis, Madera, Calif.; one brother; three sisters; and two grandchildren.

Garold G. Leiby
Garold G. "Gary" Leiby, 85, of Medford, died Monday (Sept. 6, 1999) in Hearthstone. A private entombment will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
He was born May 18, 1914, in Pullman, Mich., a son of Gay and Mary (Miller) Leiby. He was a 1932 graduate of Benton Harbor High School, and attended Benton Harbor Junior College in Michigan. He graduated from David Wolcott Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, Mich.
On July 22, 1944, in Medford, he married Betty Jean Vincent, who died in 1994.
Mr. Leiby was an office equipment salesman with Champion International, retiring in 1977. He moved to the Rogue Valley from the Bay Area in 1977.
He was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Terry V., Mountain View, Calif., and Scott A., Redding, Calif; a sister, Betty Hunt, St. Joseph, Mich.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Ann Leiby.

Elva Sabina Sutton
The graveside service for Elva Sabina Sutton will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Sutton, 87, of Salem, formerly of Medford, died Monday (Sept. 6, 1999) at Tierra Rose Care Center in Salem.

She was born Elva McCallister on Feb. 19, 1912, in Lake Creek. She was the last surviving daughter of John and Carrie McCallister, early settlers in the Lake Creek area, where her father was a blacksmith and operated a sawmill on Little Butte Creek.
In 1927, she married Marion L. Sutton, who died in 1971.
In 1978, she married Marion Sutton's brother, Joe B. Sutton, who died in 1996. She lived in the Rogue Valley until 1996, when she moved to Salem to live near her daughter.
Mrs. Sutton was a Girl Scout leader for more than 10 years, and received her 10-year service pin.
She was a life member of the Church of God.
Mrs. Sutton enjoyed crocheting, knitting and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Esther Conyne; a son, Leroy; six stepdaughters, Debbie Poole, Patsy Potts, Alice Athanas, Rosalee Tracey, Carol Moore and Sandy Sutton; two stepsons, Tom Sutton and Ben Sutton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Frankie McCallister, Fred McCallister, Simon McCallister and James McCallister; and three sisters, Emma Eden, Celia Gist and Viola Jackson.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Vera Pearle Hess
The memorial service for Vera Pearle Hess will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Medford Friends Church. Pastor Mark Burton will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, Calif.
Mrs. Hess, 82, of Central Point, died Aug. 31, 1999, at her home.

She was born Oct. 24, 1916, in Fullerton, Neb., a daughter of Roy and Cora Boye. She attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
On Nov. 4, 1938, in Pasadena, Calif., she married Robert Hess, who survives.
Mrs. Hess was an office clerk for Biola University in La Mirada, Calif., for 20 years.
She served with the American Sunday School Union, working in camping and conference ministries and vacation Bible schools.
Mrs. Hess enjoyed crafts and needlework.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Daryl Ann Johnson, Central Point; a son, David E. Hess, Medford; a sister, Lucille Green, Salem; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Boye; and two sisters, Maxine Garris and Winnie Shaw.
