Adelbert F. Hackert
The funeral for Adelbert Frederick Hackert will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Folsom, Calif. Interment will be in Jacksonville Cemetery.
Mr. Hackert, 72, of Folsom, formerly of Jacksonville, died Monday (Oct. 4, 1999) at his home.

He was born April 18, 1927, in Jacksonville, and graduated from Jacksonville High School.
In 1944, he entered the Army Air Corps, and was stationed in Japan where he served as a radioman.
Following his discharge, he graduated from Oregon State University. He later returned and earned a master's degree in mathematics.
Mr. Hackert taught junior and senior high school mathematics in Albany, Ashland and Medford. In 1965, he took the position of mathematics professor at Sacramento City College, retiring in 1992. While there, he wrote numerous texts in mathematics, including "Mathematical Concepts for Pre-Algebra" and "Rediscovering Mathematics."
He was a member of Parents Without Partners, Sacramento Chapter 17, and went on to form his own chapter, where he was an officer. He also supported the fine art community in Sacramento. He was a season member of the Music Circus, Broadway Musical Series and the Sacramento Theater Company, and enjoyed taking his grandchildren to the Sacramento Ballet.
Mr. Hackert helped care for his father, who is 97 years old.
He traveled the world. He also enjoyed playing cards, and played with a group for 15 years.
Survivors include a son, Charles, Orangevale, Calif.; two daughters, Nancy Adele Hammond, Bountiful, Utah, and Jodie Benstead, Folsom, Calif.; his father, Albert Hackert, Jacksonville; a sister, Myrna Harris, Reedsport; and six grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Folsom, Calif.
Ada Esther Brown
The graveside service for Ada Esther Brown will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brownsboro Cemetery. The memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Shady Point Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Brad Brown will officiate.
Mrs. Brown, 89, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (Oct. 3, 1999) at her home.

She was born Ada Schornstein on May 19, 1910, in Post Falls, Idaho. She moved to Oregon 60 years ago from Minnesota.
On Jan. 17, 1948, in Oakland, Calif., she married Arthur Esthel Brown, who survives.
Mrs. Brown was a music teacher. She taught piano and organ.
She enjoyed reading the Bible, playing the piano and organ, animals and her pets.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, Frank, Eagle Point, Farrell, College Place, Wash., Eudell, Chico, Calif., and Dan, Pioneer, Calif.; a daughter, Nellie DeGraffenreid, Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Harvey Schornstein, Myrtle Creek; and 20 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Way; and a brother, Myron Schornstein.

Wanda Lee Moss
Wanda Lee Moss, 60, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 2, 1999) at her home. A private service will be held.
She was born Wanda Mayhew on Jan. 20, 1939, in Tyler, Texas.
On June 10, 1961, in Las Vegas, she married Richard Lee Moss, who died in 1994. She moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from California.
Mrs. Moss was a homemaker.
She enjoyed her church and computers.
Survivors include two sons, Rick and Clint, both Medford; three daughters, Cindy and Chris Moss, both Medford, and Susan Moss Troster, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Jane Johnson, Riverside, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Kenneth August Kuehl
The memorial service for Kenneth August Kuehl will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Bible Baptist Church in Gold Hill. Pastor Doug McMahan will officiate. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Kuehl, 63, of Jacksonville, died Friday (Oct. 1, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 27, 1936, in San Diego, a son of August and Evelyn Kuehl.
On June 9, 1963, in Las Vegas, he married Donna Goldene Orndoff, who survives. He had lived in Jackson County for many years.
Mr. Kuehl was a tool and dye maker for Boeing and Rohr Aircraft for 23 years in Long Beach, Calif.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Gold Hill and a 27-year member of the American Legion in Midway City, Calif.
Mr. Kuehl enjoyed building model airplanes, building and working on boats and motorcycles, and helping people.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Bobbie Peterson, Medford, Rosalena Andrews, Portland, and Sherry Underwood, La Pine; a son, Kenny, Medford; a brother, Clifford, Rogue River; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Joseph L. Cabler
A celebration of the life of Joseph L. Cabler will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at 545 Pennsylvania Ave., Medford.
Mr. Cabler, 83, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 3, 1999) in Medford. A private service will be held.

He was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Oklahoma, a son of Quincey and Ruby Cabler. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Arizona in 1939.
On Sept. 30, 1967, in Medford, he married Edith Cummings, who survives.
Mr. Cabler was a tractor operator for Jim Vanderlip Logging, GM&W Logging and others in the Rogue Valley, retiring in the early 1970s.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Cabler, Spokane, Wash.; two sons, Alfred "Cork" and James, both Medford; a daughter, Peggy Jo Cabler, Medford; a stepson, James Cummings, in California; a stepdaughter, Janice Hearne, Spokane, Wash.; three brothers, Harold, Grants Pass, Bob, Jacksonville, and Jack, Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Wilma Schaal, Corvallis, and Arleta Summers, Placerville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Milliken Reed
The memorial service for Elizabeth MacDonald Milliken Reed will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Reed, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) at Rogue Valley Manor.

She was born Elizabeth Alice MacDonald on Sept. 3, 1914, in York Harbor, Maine. She received a degree in sociology in 1937 from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and a California general secondary teaching credential from the University of California at Los Angeles.
In 1938, in Los Angeles, she married Carl E. Milliken Jr., who died in 1989. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1987 from Orcas Island, Wash.
In 1993, in Medford, she married Dr. Emerson A. Reed, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Reed was a teacher in the Los Angeles school system at the high school level for 15 years.
She was a member of the California Business Education Association and served as president of the Los Angeles section from 1968 to 1969. She was a member of the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women. She was also a member of the Orcas Island Yacht Club, where she was the first woman commodore. She was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron.
Mrs. Reed was active in the Episcopal Church, serving as diocesan delegate, and had graduated at age 85 as a Stevens minister. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Parish in Medford.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Milliken Adame, Hawaii; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert MacDonald.

Robert L. Paddock
The memorial service for Dr. Robert L. Paddock will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Mountain View, Calif. Pastor Curtis Church will officiate.
Dr. Paddock, 78, of Medford, died Saturday (Oct. 2, 1999) at his home.

He was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
He attended Emanuel Mission College in Berrien Springs, Mich., and Loma Linda University in California. He completed his residency at St. Luke's Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Paddock began his medical practice in 1955 in Sunnyvale, Calif. He was in family practice for many years and finished his career in aviation medicine in 1983.
He entered the U.S. Army in the early months of World War II and served for more than three years in the South Pacific Theater, where he was decorated for valor in action.
Dr. Paddock enjoyed flying and was a world traveler. In his later years, he and his wife traveled the United States and Canada in their motor home. At age 50, he became an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Jade, Medford; a son, Thomas, Menlo Park, Calif.; a daughter, Kathy Johnson, Pacific Grove, Calif.; and one grandchild.
