Florence Opal Miner
The graveside service for Florence Opal Miner will be at 1 p.m. today in Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Pastor Charles Todd will officiate.
Mrs. Miner, 87, of Phoenix, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at Northridge Assisted Living.

She was born Florence Thurston on Jan. 16, 1912, in Bartlesville, Okla.
In February 1940, in Oklahoma, she married John William Miner, who died in 1953. She lived in the Roseburg area from 1952 to 1958 and moved to the Rogue Valley from Loma Linda, Calif., five years ago.
Mrs. Miner was a secretary for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Loma Linda, Calif., for 17 years.
In addition to her interest in Holbrook Indian School, she enjoyed crafts, needlepoint and working for the church.
Survivors include a son, Gary, Medford; and two grandchildren. Arrangements: Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.
Martha V. Lawrence
The funeral for Martha V. Lawrence will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church, Ashland. Pastor Michael Powell will officiate.
Mrs. Lawrence, 76, of Ashland, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashland First United Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., Ashland, OR 97520.
She was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Buckley, Wash. She graduated from Astoria High School and attended the University of Oregon.
In 1942, in Portland, she married William C. Lawrence, who survives. After World War II, she settled in Medford and moved to Ashland in 1953.
Mrs. Lawrence worked in the shoe department of J.C. Penney for 20 years, retiring in 1985. As a homemaker, she was active in the Parent-Teacher Association, Cub Scouts and church school. She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, William H., San Diego, and Robert E., Olympia, Wash.; three daughters, Barbara J. Graf, and Virginia A. Stollings, both Ashland, and Margaret Jane Sandrock, Phoenix.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Crematory & Funeral Home, Ashland.
Cathleen Brodeur-Duggan
The funeral Mass for Cathleen May Brodeur-Duggan will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Medford. A family gathering will follow at 6 p.m. at the Ashland Elks Lodge.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
Mrs. Brodeur-Duggan, 80, of Talent, died Sunday (Oct. 31, 1999) at her home.
She was born Cathleen May Dockety on May 31, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was raised in the New York area and moved to Ashland from Phoenix, Ariz., in 1996.
On Feb. 21, 1998, in Ashland, she married Louis Duggan, who survives. She moved to Talent in 1998.
Mrs. Brodeur-Duggan was a registered nurse in the New York area for many years, often providing private care.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, Jim Brodeur, Ashland, Robert Brodeur, Medford, Lester Brodeur, Hudson, N.H., and Donald Brodeur, Delray Beach, Fla.; a brother, Jim Dockety, Houston; four sisters, Adelaide Cann, Lucille Kowalsky, Mildred Marggis, and Genevieve Haswell, all Brooklyn, N.Y.; 27 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter; three sisters; and a brother.

Charlotte Anna Cope
The funeral for Charlotte Anna Cope will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Steele Chapel, 5050 Mount Solo Road, Longview, Wash. Interment will be in Longview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Cope, 84, of Gold Hill, died Thursday (Oct. 28, 1999) at her home.
She was born Charlotte Campbell on April 11, 1915, in Winlock, Wash.
On May 27, 1933, in St. Helens, she married Leslie C. Cope, who died in 1990. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Washington in 1991.
Mrs. Cope was a homemaker.
She was an avid political follower, and enjoyed her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Yarbrough, Gold Hill, and Geraldine Tift, Toledo, Wash.; a son, Clarence Cope, Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Edna Lawrence, Portland, and Nell Hitchens, Canby; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Earl A. Campbell
The funeral for Earl A. Campbell will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Clay Street Community Church of God in Ashland. Pastor Ray Orndoff will officiate. Interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
Mr. Campbell, 79, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Oct. 27, 1999) at his home.
He was born June 29, 1920, in Murray Valley, Alberta, Canada, a son of Ethel and Melton Campbell.
In 1961, in Las Vegas, he married Hazel E. McNamara, who died in 1996.
Mr. Campbell was a plasterer. He lived in Southern California for many years before moving to Ashland in 1980.
He was a member of the Clay Street Community Church of God.
Mr. Campbell enjoyed handcrafts, woodcarving and the rodeo.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene Rael, Ashland, and Sharon McVey, Marysville, Calif.; a stepson, Jack Sinclair, Salem; two sisters, Loretta Russell, Sundry, Alberta, Canada, and Edith Seal, Fort McArthur, Alberta, Canada; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Freda Henderson
Freda Eleanor Roberts Bellah Henderson, 79, of Medford, died Friday (Oct. 29, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
She was born Freda Eleanor Roberts on May 21, 1920, in Whiskeytown, Calif. She lived in Ashland during World War II.
Mrs. Henderson worked for Raley's Grocery in Placerville, Calif., for 30 years. After retirement in the late 1960s, she moved to Medford from Placerville. In Medford, she worked for Safeway.
She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Medford.
Mrs. Henderson enjoyed square dancing, reading, flower gardening and her cats.
Survivors include two daughters, Genny Yates, Talent, and Kathy Bellah, Grants Pass; two brothers, Bill Roberts, Auburn, Calif., and Howard Roberts, Dixon, Calif.; a sister, Mary Smith, Kenwood, Calif.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Preceding her in death was a brother, Rolland Roberts, in 1996.

Evelyn Marie Wells
The memorial service for Evelyn Marie Wells will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Missionary Baptist Church, 2200 Merlin-Galice Road, Merlin.
Mrs. Wells, 88, of Grants Pass, formerly of Jacksonville and Central Point, died Thursday (Oct. 28, 1999) at her daughter's home in Grants Pass.
She was born Evelyn Whittenton on Feb. 26, 1911, in Hamilton, Texas, a daughter of Sophronia and James Whittenton. She attended Texas A & M College.
In 1936, in Phoenix, Ariz., she married Leroy E. Wells, who survives.
Mrs. Wells worked with the U.S. Forest Service for several summers as the fire suppression crew cook at Star Ranger Station. She was also a professional drapery seamstress in Medford for 17 years.
After retirement, she and her husband traveled throughout the Southwest before returning to the Rogue Valley. They moved to Grants Pass in 1993.
Mrs. Wells was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Marilyn Koch and Linda Rudd; a brother, Verner Whittenton; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
