Kenneth Dale Coffman
Kenneth Dale Coffman, 70, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 11, 1999) at his home. The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, 520 North Holly St., Medford. The Rev. Leo Schmelzer will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, care of the Children Ministry.
He was born July 13, 1929, in Greeley, Colo. He moved to the Rogue Valley five years ago from Carson City, Nev.
On Sept. 6, 1948, he married Mary Keskebas, who died in 1981.
While growing up, Mr. Coffman was a migrant farmer in Colorado.
In the 1940s, he participated in rodeos as a bareback bronco rider.
He worked at Ford Motor Company in Milpitas, Calif., from 1960 until his retirement in 1983.
From 1946 to 1948, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Coffman was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God.
He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Bud, Medford; two brothers, Mervin "Bud" of Evans, Colo., and Jesse, Reno; three sisters, Shirley Zeman, Fort Collins, Colo., Betty Jane Hackney, Marshall, Ill., and Mildred Stone, Greeley, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Gillespie, and sister, Hazel Covert.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives, 550 Business Park Drive, Medford.
Robert William Shipp
The graveside funeral service for Robert William Shipp will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bardsdale Cemetery District in California, The Rev. Dr. Robert Ness of the Methodist Church in Fillmore, Calif., will officiate.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Shipp, 63, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 19, 1999) at his home.

He was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Roswell, N.M. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974, relocating here from Lyle, Wash.
On Jan. 8, 1972, at Trinity Lutheran Church in California, he married Barbara Legan, who survives.
He was a field manager for the Fuller Brush Co. and was a licensed cosmetologist, a certified boiler operator, and a life and disability insurance agent.
He belonged to the Scottish Rite, Central Point Masonic Lodge No. 135, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Mr. Shipp enjoyed fishing, hunting for rocks and mushrooms, working with tools and reading.
He was a volunteer with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Oregon State Police, where he worked on the disabled parking patrol.
He was a seaman, third class, for the U.S. Coast Guard, stationed on the CGC Clover and at the St. Elias Lighthouse in Alaska.
Survivors. in addition to his wife, include three sons, Randall and Richard, both of Chatsworth, Calif., and Robert Jr., Simi Valley, Calif.; four brothers, Charles, Blaine, Wash., Loid, Manteca, Calif., and Paul and Lawrence, both of Lovington, N.M.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loid Shipp and Lois Blanscet.

H. Victor Neher
H. Victor Neher, 95, of Medford, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No services were held.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
He was born Nov. 4, 1904, in Kansas. On June 29, 1929, in Claremont, Calif., he married Sara Yoder, who died on Sept. 8, 1999.
He has lived in the Rogue Valley for seven years, moving here from Watsonville, Calif.
He was a teacher and also did research in the education field. He was a member of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Aptos, Calif.
Survivors include three sons, Philip of Corvallis and Stephen and Andrew of Aptos; two daughters, Topsy Smalley of Aptos and Merilyn Rutishauser of Lexington, Mass.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Memory Gardens Mortuary.
Arthur Vilhauer
Arthur Gerhard Vilhauer, 78, of Yreka, Calif., died Friday (Nov. 19, 1999) at Beverly Manor Convalescent Hospital in Yreka. No service is planned. Inurnment will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.
He was born July 11, 1921, in South Dakota.
On Oct. 26, 1995, in Mount Shasta, Calif., he married Virginia Martell, who survives.
Mr. Vilhauer lived in Siskiyou County for 19 years.
He graduated from high school in Hosmer, South Dakota, and from Molar Barber College in San Francisco.
He was a self-employed barber for 34 years, working in Sacramento and Weed, Calif.
He also worked for Weed Laundry and the U.S. Postal Service.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three brothers, Edwin of Oregon, Herman, Sacramento and Harold, Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Martha, San Diego, Calif; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lea Vilhauer, who died in 1992, and by a son, Daniel.
Ethel June Griggs
The funeral for Ethel June Griggs will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford. Pastor Rod Howell of the Central Neighborhood Church of Phoenix will officiate. Committal will be at the Medford IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Griggs, 81, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 18) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pitt Rebekah Lodge, 140 Bigham Drive, Central Point, OR 97502.
She was born Ethel Henderson on June 17, 1918, in Gold Hill, a daughter of Thomas and Bessie Doren Henderson. She was a lifelong resident of the Rogue Valley.
On Sept. 3, 1937, in Grants Pass, she married Phil B. Griggs, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Griggs was a member of Mt. Pitt Rebekah Lodge No. 167, Olive Rebekah Lodge No. 28, Gold Hill Grange No. 534 and L.E.A. Encampment.
Survivors include a son, Leonard D. Griggs, Medford; two daughters, Phyllis J. Starr, White City, and Dena B. Schroeder, Central Point; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Vern Henderson, and a sister, Veta Liebman.Arrangements: Conger Morris Funeral Directors.
Gladys Marie Downes
Gladys Marie Downes, 86, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1999) in Medford. No service is planned.
She was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Sayre, Okla., a daughter of Fred and Ella Merritt.
On July 29, 1944, in Reno, Nev., she married Harry Downes, who died in 1970. Shortly after her marriage she moved to the Grants Pass area, where she lived for 28 years. For the last 25 years she had resided in Medford.
Mrs. Downes and her husband owned and operated the Cherry Queen orchard.
Survivors include two sons, DeLoss and Albert, both Grants Pass; two daughters, Ella Whisenant, Grants Pass, and Sharon Downes, Medford; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Kenneth E. Olmstead
The memorial service for Kenneth E. Olmstead will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Hope Presbyterian Church in Rogue River. Pastor Brian Boisen will officiate.
Mr. Olmstead, 66, of Rogue River, died Thursday (Nov. 4, 1999) in Three Rivers Community Hospital, Washington Campus ICU.
He was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Wise County, Texas.
On July 2, 1955, in Tulsa, Okla., he married Nancy Seybold, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 30 years ago from Santa Paula, Calif.
Mr. Olmstead worked in the construction business prior to becoming a horse trainer in the Rogue River area. He retired in 1996.
He is a past president of the Southern Oregon Horseracing Association.
Mr. Olsmstead enjoyed bird watching, and was known for his gift for gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Donna Sims, Ashland, Kathy Calvo, Central Point, and Kelly Anne Kirk, Wellington, Utah; two sons, Kenneth E. Jr., Medford, and Kevin, Vancouver, Wash.; two brothers, Donald, Lindsay, Okla., and Larry, Guymon, Okla.; a sister, Glenna Lowrance, Southlake, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.
