Vincent Joseph Kipfer
The graveside service for Vincent J. "Kip" Kipfer will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Stan Johnson of the West Main Church of Christ will officiate.
Mr. Kipfer, 79, of Rogue River, died Monday (Nov. 8, 1999) at his home.
He was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Detroit.
On July 9, 1946, in Millington, Mich., he married Doris May Cronkright, who died in 1998.
Mr. Kipfer retired after 20 years as a chief gunner's mate in the U.S. Navy.
He was a carpenter at North American Rockwell in California. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Long Beach, Calif., following his retirement in 1970.
Mr. Kipfer was a member of the Fleet Reserve.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, music and dancing.
Survivors include two sons, Kip and Kory, both Rogue River; a daughter, Karen DeWitt, Mission Viejo, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Mary Maxine Hills
The funeral for Mary Maxine Hills will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Bishop Wayne Cowley of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford 1st Ward, will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford.
Mrs. Hills, 79, of Phoenix, died Monday (Nov. 8, 1999) in Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1st Ward Missionary Fund, 889 Morrison, Medford, OR 97504.
She was born Mary Maxine Layman on Aug. 8, 1920, in Salt Lake City.
On Oct. 3, 1939, in Salt Lake City, she married Gordon W. Hills, who died in 1987. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Salt Lake City in 1959.
Mrs. Hills was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford 1st Ward, where she was active as a primary teacher and as a visiting teacher.
Mrs. Hills enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include four sons, Max H., Medford, Stephen L., Phoenix, Gordon W. Jr., Antioch, Calif., and Roger F., Dallas; a daughter, Maxine Carroll Schweizer, Portland; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Conger-Morris Chapel, Medford.
`Jeannie' Bowerman
Doris "Jeannie" Bowerman, 67, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 7, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 698, Medford, OR 97501.
She was born Doris Summers on Aug. 29, 1932, in Jonesboro, Ark.
On May 23, 1959, in Las Vegas, she married Arthur Bowerman, who died in 1991.
Mrs. Bowerman worked for Bi-Mart for 19 years.
She enjoyed crafting and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffery and Adrian Wilson, both Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Neva D. Farrance, Hemet, Calif.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Charles E. Dollarhide
The memorial service for Charles Edwin Dollarhide will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cornerstone Christian Church in Medford.
Mr. Dollarhide, 41, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 7, 1999) in Medford.
He was born Oct. 26, 1958, in Grants Pass, a son of Chuck and Joyce Dollarhide. He graduated from Rogue River High School in 1976. He lived in Grants Pass until 1970, when he moved to Rogue River. He moved to Medford in 1977.
Mr. Dollarhide worked for the U.S. Postal Service, out of the Jacksonville Post Office, for three years. Prior to that he worked at Littrell Welding and Oregon Air Gas for several years.
He enjoyed playing pool, camping, fixing cars and bowling.
Survivors include a son, Ashton Craig, Medford; a daughter, Amber Craig, Medford; his parents, Chuck and Joyce Dollarhide, Rogue River; two sisters, Pam Powell and Susie Dollarhide, both Rogue River; three brothers, Bob, Medford, Ken, Grants Pass, and Ron, Waldport.

`Les' Parren
The graveside service for "Les" Parren will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Woodville Cemetery in Rogue River.
Mr. Parren, 54, of Rogue River, died Saturday (Nov. 6, 1999) in Rogue River.
He was born May 10, 1945, in Grants Pass, a son of Charles Dale and Virginia Parren. He graduated from Rogue River High School and lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life.
Mr. Parren was a truck driver for Pannella Trucking in California for 15 years.
He enjoyed fishing, football, boxing and collecting antiques.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas and Donald, both Rogue River; two daughters, Jackie Boozer, Bakersfield, Calif., and Diana Ellis, Beaverton; his mother, Virginia Parren, Rogue River; a brother, Dale, Rogue River; and three grandchildren. His father, Charles Dale Parren, died on Aug. 5, 1999.

Virginia Lee Vanzant
The graveside service for Virginia Lee Vanzant will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Rock Point Cemetery in Gold Hill.
Mrs. Vanzant, 79, of Rogue River, died Oct. 30, 1999, in Medford.
She was born Virginia Lee Eliott on Nov. 9, 1919, in Los Angeles.
On Aug. 24, 1943, in Los Angeles, she married Herbert L. Vanzant, who died in 1982. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1965.
Mrs. Vanzant worked as a bookkeeper in Sun Valley for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Vanzant, in California.

Albert Marino
Albert Marino, 82, of Medford, died Tuesday (Nov. 9, 1999) in Medford. No service is planned. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
He was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Marino was a waiter, then a maitre d' in restaurants in Hollywood, Las Vegas and in the Medford Hotel's Candle Room.
In the 1970s, he opened a paperback book store, The Antique Shack, in Medford. He operated the store for more than 11 years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1940-45. He was a corporal at Camp Hood, Texas, where he instructed recruits in a tank destroyer battalion.
Mr. Marino was an active Elk Lodge member for over 30 years.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
