Myrtle P. Simpson
The memorial service for Myrtle P. Simpson will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Prime Time, 2979 Barnett Road, Medford. The Rev. Scott Dalgarno of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland will officiate.
Mrs. Simpson, 91, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 21, 1999) in Medford.

She was born Dec. 16, 1907, in Moore, Mont., a daughter of William and Bessie (Smith) Stapleton.
On May 4, 1927, in New York, N.Y., she married James Buchanan who died in 1983. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Sacramento in 1983.
Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker.
She enjoyed flowers and music.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Pischel, Ashland; a sister, Grace Weisgarber, Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Charles V. Baker
Charles V. Baker, 66, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Nov. 23, 1999) at his home. The memorial service will be held later. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
On Feb. 11, 1956, in St. Louis, he married Betty Hubler, who survives.
Mr. Baker was a financial director for San Jose Hospital and O'Conner Hospital in San Jose, Calif., until his retirement. He then opened an antique store in San Jose. After moving to Central Point in 1995, he was the owner and operator of the Bybee Bed and Breakfast and continued his antique business in his home.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-59.
Mr. Baker was a board member of the Rogue Gallery and Art Center, and a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
He was an artist who specialized in assemblage. He enjoyed antiquing, painting, building bird houses and gardening, especially roses.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Beth Baker, Central Point; two sons, Brian, Wamego, Kan., and Jeff, Modesto, Calif.; two brothers, Ernest, Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Med, Jackson, Mo.; two sisters, Vi Brajkovich, and Bea Lucy, both Pekin, Ill.; and three grandchildren. A brother, John, preceded him in death.

Elinor L. Teetor
The graveside service for Elinor L. Teetor will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, in Willamette National Cemetery. The Rev. Berdell Moffett will officiate.
Mrs. Teetor, 85, of Milwaukie, formerly of Medford, died Nov. 5, 1999, of an aneurysm at her home.

She was born Elinor Alford on Oct. 2, 1914, in Ottawa, Ontario. She graduated from Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing.
During World War II, she served in the Canadian Navy in England as a nursing sister, a rank equivalent to a U.S. Navy lieutenant junior grade. She immigrated to New York around 1946. In 1954, she moved to Indiana, where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from St. Mary's College in Fort Wayne.
On Jan. 3, 1945, at HMS Niobe naval base, England, she married Howard A. Teetor, who died in 1967. She moved to Medford in 1964.
Mrs. Teetor was a geriatric nurse at Rogue Valley Medical Center for 15 years. She moved to Clackamas after her retirement in 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Jane, Oregon City; two stepsons, Will-Robert, Jacksonville, N.Y., and Howard A. Jr., Windsor, N.Y.; two brothers, Walter Alford, Laguna Hills, Calif., and Douglas Alford, Huntsville, Ontario; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Cyril E. `Cy' Jones
The memorial service for Cyril Everett "Cy" Jones will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in the Ashland First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Powell will officiate.
Mr. Jones, 83, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 22, 1999) at his home.

He was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Macedonia, Iowa, a son of Flora Mae and Vern Jones.
On Feb. 27, 1943, in Inglewood, Calif., he married Alice Vaughn, who survives. He lived in Big Bear Lake, Calabasas and Inglewood, Calif., before moving to Medford in 1994.
Mr. Jones was a claims manager with Financial Indemnity Company in California for 30 years. He also owned and operated a picture frame shop in California. He retired in 1980.
He sang with the Grenadiers, a men's choral group in Los Angeles on numerous radio programs, and with church choirs. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Ashland First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Jones enjoyed woodworking, inventing things, gardening, music and fishing. He worked as a piano tuner.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Donna Woolsey, Ashland; a son, Gary, Golden, Colo.; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

George H. Jackson
The memorial service for George H. Jackson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lakeview Elk's Lodge. Interment will be private.
Mr. Jackson, 77, of Lakeview, formerly of Eagle Point, died Monday (Nov. 22, 1999) at his home.

He was born June 20, 1922, in Corvallis, a son of Eldon E. and Doris (Hamilton) Jackson. He was raised and educated in Eagle Point, where he graduated from high school.
On Dec. 7, 1947, in Eagle Point, he married Lois Killian, who preceded him in death.
After moving to Lakeview in 1957, the couple owned and operated Lakeview Sand and Gravel. They sold the business in 1991.
Mr. Jackson was a former Lake County commissioner, life member of the VFW, a member of the Lakeview Elks Lodge and longtime member of the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Jackson enjoyed restoring vintage automobiles, gardening, birds and animals, and was an avid cribbage player.
Survivors include three daughters, Gail Burke, Medford, Lynn Wilson, Lakeview, and Leigh Dunn, Del Norte, Colo.; two sisters, Geraldine Ottosen, Junction City, and Susie Nelson, Eagle Point; six brothers, Wayne, David, Jim, Neil, Bill and Pete Jackson, all Eagle Point; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Richard M. Edmund
The memorial service for Richard M. Edmund will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Medford.
Mr. Edmund, 68, of Medford, died Sunday (Nov. 21, 1999) at his home.

He was born July 11, 1931, in Chicago, a son of Ernest and Gertrude (Campbell) Edmund. He moved to Oregon in 1947.
Mr. Edmund was a hydrologist with U.S. Geological Survey. He was retired. From 1990-98, he worked for the Medford City Parks and Recreation Department.
He enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Edmund served in the the U.S. Air Force as a supply technician from 1949-53.
Survivors include a son, David, Medford; two daughters, Theresa Aguiar, and Stephanie Gourley, both Klamath Falls; and nine grandchildren.

Steven B. Groveman
The memorial service for Steven Bart Groveman will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, in Temple Emek Shalom, Ashland.
Mr. Groveman, 44, of Ashland, died Monday (Nov. 22, 1999) at his home.

He was born April 11, 1955, in Flushing, N.Y., a son of Mildred and Jacob Groveman, and was raised in White Stone, N.Y.
He received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from State University of New York at Binghamton, a master of science degree in counseling from San Francisco State University, and was a candidate for a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the Center for Psychological Studies. He received special training in organizational development, borderline personality disorder and treatment, hypno-therapy, substance abuse, directive therapy and HIV/AIDS.
On Sept. 16, 1984, in Oakland, Calif., he married Kathleen Mackris, who survives. He moved to Ashland from the San Francisco Bay area in 1991.
Mr. Groveman was a director and counselor with several YMCA programs in the San Francisco area in the late 70s and early 80s. From 1983 to 1991, he was a social worker and director with Youth Homes in Contra Costa, Calif.
In 1991, after moving to Ashland, he was the associate director and later executive director of Youthworks, Inc., in Medford. After the merger in 1996 of Youthworks, the Ashland Adolescent Center, and Crisis Intervention Services, he continued as deputy executive director of the combined organization, Community Works. Most recently, he was overseeing the development of the Ashland Youth and Family Resource Center, "The Grove," named in his honor.
He enjoyed playing piano, acting, playing basketball and socializing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Alex and Sam, both Ashland; a brother, Alan, East Northport, Long Island; and a sister, Sharon Damato, Las Vegas.
