Hazel Mae Bennett
Hazel Mae Bennett, 80, of Medford, died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation Center. No service is planned.

She was born Hazel Bailey on May 20, 1919, in Troy, Idaho.
On July 5, 1941, in Las Vegas, she married Lester E. Bennett, who died in 1978. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973 from Lancaster, Calif.
Mrs. Bennett was a manager at Greenbrier Mobile Park in Medford in the late '70s and early '80s.
Survivors include a son, Robert L., Metaline, Wash.; two sisters, Muriel N. May, Medford, and Velma Head, Newbury Park, Calif.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

`Chuck' R. Hawkins
Charles R. "Chuck" Hawkins, 78, of Medford, died Nov. 21, 1999, at Hearthstone. No service is planned.

He was born July 14, 1921, in Sac City, Iowa. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1945 from Lebanon.
Mr. Hawkins was a bartender at the Elks Lodge.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Hawkins enjoyed gardening and camping.
Survivors include two sisters, Clovia Vauvle, Lebanon, and Sylvia Tebben, Sac City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

James A. Hardaway
James Arville Hardaway, 82, of Medford, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) in Medford. The cryptside service was held on Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
He was born July 4, 1917, in Glover, Okla. He lived in the Rogue Valley for 50 years.
On July 2, 1966, in Reno, Nev., he married Leta B. Wininger, who survives.
Mr. Hardaway was a machine operator with Boise Cascade for more than 20 years.
He was an avid bowler and bowled on several bowling teams in the Rogue Valley. He was also an avid fisherman.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Rick, White City, James D. "Tony," Gold Hill, and Gene, in Oklahoma; a daughter, Mary Lee, in Oklahoma; three stepdaughters, Marilee Wininger, Medford, Carol Garrison, Central Point, and Eva Scott, Ashland; seven brothers, Barney, Pete, Raymond, Joe and Bill Hardaway, and Haden and Zenus Sullivan, all in Oklahoma; four sisters, Dethine Axton, Vedas Whisenhunt, Pearl Cross, and Dixie Lee Holmes, all in Oklahoma; five grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Halton Sullivan.

Calvin Earl Sargent
The graveside service for Calvin Earl Sargent will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sparlin Cemetery in Williams.
Mr. Sargent, 81, of Prospect, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
He was born May 31, 1918, in Williams, a son of Fred and Bernice Sargent. He lived in the area all his life.
On April 29, 1939, in Yreka, Calif., he married Lavon Keizer, who survives.
Mr. Sargent was a logger and tree faller with the U.S. Forest Service, retiring after 12 years.
He served in the U.S. Army in 1944.
Mr. Sargent enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Michael, Medford; a daughter, Glenda Isaac, Central Point; a brother, Fred, Smith River, Calif.; a sister, Velda Warren, Everett, Wash.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Marvin.

Sarah Wilson
The graveside service for Leslie Sarah Wilson will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass.
Mrs. Wilson, 80, of Rogue River, died Wednesday (Nov. 24, 1999) at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Leslie Sarah Williams on April 8, 1919, in Portland.
On Sept. 6, 1941, in Reno, Nev., she married William E. Wilson, who preceded her in death. She moved to Grants Pass from Utah in 1979.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Grants Pass.
Mrs. Wilson enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and collecting Barbie dolls.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Elizabeth Chase, and Melinda Sue Best, both Grants Pass; four sons, Lee Allan, Bend, Jay Dean, Sheridan, Wyo., George Reed, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Randal Eugene, Ogden, Utah; two brothers, George Williams, in Washington, and Jim Williams, in New Mexico; five sisters, Dora Livingston, Boise, Idaho, Dorothy Anthis, Benton City, Wash., Mary Moore, in California, Pat Roy, in Nevada, and Virginia Courtney, Hayward, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas W. Wilson; a brother, John Williams; and a granddaughter.

Donald Hill Sr.
The memorial service for Donald Barry Hill Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Unity Church, Medford. The Revs. Beverly McPherron and Flo Bohnert of Christ Unity Church will officiate.
Mr. Hill, 72, of Medford, died Wednesday (Nov. 24, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford.

He was born July 23, 1927 in Ashland, a son of Lawrence W. and Olena M. Black Hill.
On Aug. 15, 1947, in Reno, Nev., he married Aileen Athanas, who survives.
Mr. Hill was a salesman for the Fuller Brush and Singer Sewing companies. He also owned and operated the Bavarian Carpet Cleaning Service.
He retired from Crater Lake Ford as a salesman in 1992.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Seaman 2nd Class.
Mr. Hill was a very active member of Christ Unity Church.
He volunteered with the Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball.
He enjoyed singing, music, photography, fishing, reading and cars.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Donald Jr., Medford, and Jack, Philadelphia, Pa.; four daughters, Angela Sander and Laura Lee Budziszewski, both of Medford, Jeanie Simmons, Central Point, and Patti Proctor, Eagle Point; four brothers, Pat and Mike, both of Medford, Roger, Roseburg and Emil, Grants Pass; four sisters, Carolyn De Mersseman, Grants Pass, Lottie Jean Berry, Imbler, Margo Morgan, Longview, Wash., and Sharon Skeen of Washington; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Hill.

James Quinn
The graveside service for James Leonard Quinn will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Quinn, 66, of Trail, died Thursday (Nov. 25, 1999) at his home.
He was born Dec. 22, 1932 in Toledo, Ohio. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Seattle in 1975.
On June 9, 1990 in Reno, Nev., he married Nancy Gordon, who survives.
Mr. Quinn enjoyed playing guitar, oil painting, making furniture, fishing and birds.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include thirteen stepchildren, four sisters, 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
