Gilbert Lentz
Gilbert Lentz, 79, of Shady Cove, died Friday (Nov. 26, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center in Medford. A memorial service will be held later.
He was born Dec. 29, 1919, in Sedro Woolley, Wash., a son of Carl and Iva (Gilbert) Lentz. He moved to Oregon from Washington in 1922, and lived throughout the Rogue Valley, graduating from Gold Hill High School.
On Nov. 25, 1941, in Caldwell, Idaho, he married Betty Eileen Shorb, who survives.
Mr. Lentz was a flight engineer in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1962. Following his retirement, he was self-employed in real estate and electronics businesses.
He was a member of several Elks Lodges during his military career.
Mr. Lentz enjoyed camping, travel and family gatherings.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Jo Lentz, Shady Cove, Merrily Hoffman, New Bremen, Ohio, and Donna Kocher, Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Ronn, Coos Bay; a sister, Leona Bradley, Gold Hill; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Happy; a sister, Enola Davis; and a grandson.

Herbert Zemansky
The funeral for Herbert "Bud" R. Zemansky will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles.
Mr. Zemansky, 78, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 29, 1999) in Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
He was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Los Angeles.
On May 19, 1946, in Tarzana, Calif., he married Shirley L. Brodie, who survives.
Mr. Zemansky was involved in the motion picture industry for many years, renting props to the studios for such films as, "The Alamo," "West Side Story," Lilies of the Field," the "Matt Helm" pictures and "Hawaii." He moved to Grants Pass from Los Angeles in 1970.
He was a member of the Shiners and Al Malaika Temples in Los Angeles.
Mr. Zemansky enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, John, Encino, Calif., and James, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and a granddaughter.

Mary Alline Monen
The graveside service for Mary Alline Monen will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, in Farmer City, Ill. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, Ill.
Mrs. Monen, 84, of Jacksonville, died Saturday (Nov. 27, 1999) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Mary Lashbrook on March 16, 1915, in Greenup, Ill.
On Dec. 16, 1936, in El Paso, Ill., she married Earl L. Monen, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley 14 years ago from Peoria, Ill.
Mrs. Monen was an owner and manager of a family restaurant in Illinois, and a homemaker.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Craig, Jacksonville; a brother, Jim Lashbrook, Farmer City, Ill.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E., in 1939; and two brothers, Gene and Harold Lashbrook.

Vera D. MacKenzie
Vera D. MacKenzie, 94, of Phoenix, died Saturday (Nov. 27, 1999) at her home. A private service will be held. Interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.
She was born Sept. 20, 1905, in Oklahoma City.
In Cottage Grove, she married Mac MacKenzie, who died in 1975.
Mrs. Mackenzie and her husband homesteaded in the Chilkat Valley in Alaska in the early 1930s. They later owned a store in the city of Haines, Alaska, in the Chilkat Valley. She returned to Oregon in 1995, and had lived in Phoenix for the last four years.
She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, knitting, crocheting and socializing.

Euna Mae Annis
The graveside service for Euna Mae Annis will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Eagle Point National Cemetery. The Rev. Kenne Horton of Rogue Valley Christian Church will officiate.
Mrs. Annis, 83, of Medford, died Monday (Nov. 29, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Euna Mae Warden on Nov. 11, 1916, in Dora, Mo.
On Feb. 7, 1946, in Signal Hill, Calif., she married Kent M. Annis, who died in 1978. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Grants Pass nine years ago.
Mrs. Annis was a homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, the outdoors and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Eula Coil, Phoenix; two sons, Walter Herman, Lumberton, N.C., and Harold Herman, Aberdeen, Wash.; three brothers, Doyle Warden, Centralia, Mo., Myrle Warden, Springfield, Mo., and Wayne Warden, in Missouri; two sisters, Opal House, Springfield, Mo., and Oma Hall, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Delsie Tetrick, Critie White, and Thelma Gregory; two brothers, Earnie and Enos Warden; and one great-grandson.

Miriam L. Christensen
A celebration of the life of Miriam Lorene Christensen will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 1150 Janes Road, Medford.
Mrs. Christensen, 90, of Ashland, died Nov. 25, 1999 at Hearthstone.

She was born Miriam Godsey on Sept. 25, 1909, in Pomeroy, Wash.
On Oct. 28, 1940, in Las Vegas, she married John Christensen, who died in 1973. She had lived on and off in both Medford and Brookings since 1974.
Mrs. Christensen was a librarian in Brookings. In Jackson County, she worked as a volunteer for the public library.
During World War II, she served in the U.S. Navy as a physical therapist.
Mrs. Christensen was a curator of the Chetco Valley Museum in Brookings. She was a member of Friends of the Library, Friends of Music, the Sierra Club and the Audubon Society.
She was a member of the Unitarian Church in Brookings and Medford.
Mrs. Christensen enjoyed the outdoors, classical music, the opera and reading. She also enjoyed traveling, and took a trip around the world following the death of her husband.
Survivors include a brother, William Godsey, Pittsburg, Calif. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bernard and Gerald Mack; one sister; three brothers; and one grandchild.

Virginia Grace Lofland
The funeral for Virginia Grace Lofland will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Flo Bohnert of Unity Christian Church of Medford will officiate. Entombment will follow the service.
Mrs. Lofland, 82, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Nov. 30, 1999) at her home.

She was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Glendale, a daughter of Benjamin and Iva (McKinney) Waterman. She lived in the Rogue Valley her entire life.
On Sept. 22, 1936, in Klamath Falls, she married Fred Lofland, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Lofland was a homemaker.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking, flowers, especially orchids and roses, gardening and farming.
Survivors include a son, Paul, Central Point; three daughters, Joan Redhead, Central Point, Anne Kadin, Jacksonville, and Lois Manasco, Los Molinos, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.
