Ada C. Zinser

Ada C. Zinser, 92, of Medford, died Saturday (Dec. 4, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford. No service is planned. Interment was in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Eugene.

She was born Ada Zinser on Sept. 15, 1907, in Iowa. She graduated from Oregon Normal School, now Western Oregon University.

Ms. Zinser was the bookstore manager at the University of Oregon and Lane Community College in Eugene, retiring in 1972. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Eugene 10 years ago.

She volunteered for the church library and played with the hand bell choir at the United Methodist Church in Medford.

Ms. Zinser enjoyed gardening, reading and crafts.

Survivors include two sisters, Norma Head, Medford, and Lois Rands, Lebanon.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Thelma Lee Beaty

The memorial service for Thelma Lee Beaty will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church, South Stage Road, Medford. The Rev. Henry Zollbrecht will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mrs. Beaty, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (Dec. 8, 1999) at her home.

She was born Thelma Bybee on June 10, 1914, in Whittear, Texas.

On July 20, 1930, in Roswell, N.M., she married Charles M. Beaty, who survives.

Mrs. Beaty was a nurse's aide at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Providence Medford Medical Center, and Streeter's Nursing Home. She also specialized in private care.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Lee, Spangle, Wash.; a sister, Ruth Potter, Anaheim, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may pay their respects from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Mortuary.

Mary Belle A. De Wolfe

The funeral for Mary Belle A. De Wolfe will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens in Salem.

Mrs. De Wolfe, 68, of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 6, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation Center and Healthcare Center.

She was born May 5, 1931, in Harrisburg, a daughter of Ezera and Vivian (Earlich) Biehm. She completed two years of college.

On Sept. 26, 1964, in Harrisburg, she married Charles L. De Wolfe.

Mrs. De Wolfe was a grocery clerk in Harrisburg. She had recently moved to Medford from Salem.

She enjoyed sewing and house plants.

She is survived by her husband, Charles L. De Wolfe, Medford.

Arrangements: Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens, Salem.

Mary "Lavetus" Wimmer

The memorial service for Mary Lavetus Wimmer will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Congregational Church in Medford. The Rev. Paul Robinson will officiate.

Mrs. Wimmer, 90, of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 6, 1999) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201.

She was born Mary Lavetus Mahan on July 13, 1909 in Blackwell-Nolan, Texas, a daughter of Gertrude and Tip Gandee Mahan. The family relocated to Williams, Ariz., in 1917.

on Jan. 1, 1929, she married Max Herman Wimmer, who died in 1971. They moved to Medford in 1944.

Mrs. Wimmer was a published author of short stories and had won an award for her poetry.

She was active in the Footlighters, one of Medford's first little theater groups.

Mrs. Wimmer was an accomplished, self-taught hobby carpenter and cabinetmaker.

Survivors include a son, Max "Rusty," Medford; two daughters, Edith Jordan, Medford, and Marie Mobley, Weldon, Calif.; a sister, Mynila Namitz, Medford; a brother, Gordan Mahan, Williams, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Terrell, Elzie and Merwin; and a sister, Myrtis St. John.

John Willson Ironside

The memorial service for John Willson Ironside will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Sunnyside-Centenary United Methodist Church, 3520 Yamhill, Portland.

Mr. Ironside, 65, of Portland, formerly of Medford, died Monday (Dec. 6, 1999) in Portland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sunnyside-Centenary United Methodist Church, 3520 Yamhill, Portland, OR, or to Doernbecher Children's Hospital, 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201.

He was born July 25, 1934, in Sharon, Conn. He graduated from Ratcliffe-Hicks School of Agriculture, University of Connecticut.

On Aug. 18, 1956, he married Lynn Collins, who survives. He lived in Medford from 1976 to 1988.

Mr. Ironside was an agricultural equipment salesman for Ag West Supply.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Bruce W. and Blake W., both Central Point; a brother, James D., Landrum, S.C.; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements: Omega Funeral & Cremation Service, Portland.

Arthur Sharp

The graveside service for Arthur Sharp will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Siskiyou Memorial Park. A dinner will follow at Gloria Hannaford's home in Medford.

Mr. Sharp, 70, of Coquille, formerly of Medford, died of heart failure Monday (Dec. 6, 1999) in Coquille.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

He was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Grants Pass, a son of Pete and Bertha Sharp.

Mr. Sharp owned and operated Art's Roofing in Medford for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990. He lived in Medford for more than 40 years, moving to Coquille in 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Terry Nye, Redding, Calif., and Robin Shrader, Coquille; a son, Michael, Springfield; two sisters, Delores Shehorn and Gloria Hannaford, both Medford; two brothers, John, Medford, and Harold, Longview; three grandsons; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; a brother, George; and three sisters, Flora Jansen, Viola Hill and Zola Varga.

Dorothy C. Cady

The funeral for Dorothy C. Cady will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Conger Morris Chapel, Medford. Pastor Scott Cady, of the Chico Seventh-Day Adventist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Gridley-Briggs District Cemetery, Gridley, Calif.

Mrs. Cady, 92, of Medford, died Sunday (Dec. 5, 1999) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Service Center, 1900 Greenwood, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Dorothy C. Clymer on Oct. 24, 1907, in Holly, Mich. She was a resident of the Rogue Valley for more than 40 years.

On Sept. 6, 1952, in Medford, she married Harold Cady, who died in August 1982.

Mrs. Cady was a homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and sewing.

She was a member of the Medford Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Lucille Tryon, Phoenix, Betty Hayward, Central Point, and Edith Miller, Bradenton, Fla.; two sons, Milton, Central Point, and Victor, Gridley, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Wyant, Medford, and Gertie Salmon, Phoenix; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Clymer.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.
