Gertrude F. McCorkle
The funeral for Gertrude Faye McCorkle will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Perl Funeral Home at Siskiyou Memorial Park. Pastor Dick Bull of Eagle Point Community Bible Church will officiate.
Mrs. McCorkle, 94, of Eagle Point, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) in Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 24, 1905, in Prosser, Neb.
On July 9, 1930, in Seattle, she married Dwight W. McCorkle, who died in 1992. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Seattle in 1937.
Mrs. McCorkle was a charter member of Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Society of Central Point, and was a member of the Eagle Point Grange.
She enjoyed lapidary, needlework and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Richard, Seattle; a daughter, Kay Koller, Moraga, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Smith.

Montie Lee Smith
The memorial service for Montie Lee Smith, also known as John Purdy, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Cornerstone Christian Church, Medford. The Rev. Stan Way will officiate.
Mr. Smith, 40, of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Vista, Calif., a son of Robert C. and Mary Smith. He grew up and attended school in Grants Pass.
On Oct. 13, 1994, in Grants Pass, he married Leane B. Bishop, who survives. He returned to the Rogue Valley in 1997 from South Carolina.
Mr. Smith was a fireman for most of his life.
He attended Cornerstone Christian Church in Medford.
Mr. Smith enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, trees and flowers.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Ian, Merlin; two daughters, Nicole J. Smith, Grants Pass, and Dana Marie Smith, in Texas; his parents, Robert C. and Mary Smith, Grants Pass; and a sister, Rosemarie, Vista, Calif.

Joseph John Tomich
The memorial service for Joseph John Tomich will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point. The Rev. Jim Clifford will officiate.
Mr. Tomich, 82, of Central Point, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at his home.

He was born April 19, 1917, in Butte, Mont., a son of Frank and Mary (Brozovich) Tomich. He graduated from Butte High School and attended Oregon State University on a four-year football scholarship.
On Jan. 31, 1942, in Seattle, he married Marciel A. Toney, who survives.
Mr. Tomich worked in the heating and air-conditioning business in Eugene for 17 years before moving to Seattle, where he was an aircraft machinist for Boeing. He retired in 1981. He moved to Central Point in 1995.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer for three years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Liz Morris, Medford, and Marcia Smith, Houston; a son, Joe, Waldport; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers; and a grandson.

Carl F. Quackenbush
Carl Fredrick Quackenbush, 97, of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at Hearthstone. No service is planned. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
He was born Feb. 20, 1902, in Galesville, Wis. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Wisconsin when he was five years old, and has been a resident for 92 years.
On Oct. 21, 1923, in Medford, he married Verda Zell Lynch, who died in 1990.
Mr. Quackenbush was an orchardist in the Rogue Valley. He worked at Tuttle Orchards on Table Rock, and the Alice B. Egan orchard. He later purchased and operated Egan Orchard.
He was a member of the Rogue Valley Ham Radio Club, and the Rogue Valley Archeology Club.
During World War II he was a board member of the Selective Service.
Survivors include a son, John, Woodside, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Milo G. Shelton
Milo G. Shelton, 84, of Medford, died Friday (Dec. 10, 1999) at Hearthstone. A private family service is planned.

He was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Paducah, Texas.
On March 13, 1934, in Madera, Calif., he married Mary M. Davis, who died in 1993. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1992 from San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Shelton was the senior welding engineer for Lockheed Space and Missile in Sunnyvale, Calif., for many years, retiring in 1972.
During World War II, he served in the the U.S. Navy with the Seabees.
Mr. Shelton was a member of the first Baptist Church in San Jose, and was a second degree Mason at Lodge 818 in Santa Clara, Calif.
He enjoyed golf, gardening and repairing his cars.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Mulica, Mount Shasta, Calif., and Shirley Bates, Clinton, Wis.; a son, Ronald Milo, San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Leon Shelton, Sacramento, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Clarice Roberts
The memorial Mass for Clarice Roberts will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. William Dillard will officiate.
Mrs. Roberts, 90, of Medford, died Tuesday (Dec. 7, 1999) at her home.
She was born Clarice Rivers on May 18, 1909, in Harris, Mich.
On July 9, 1964, in Medford, she married Roscoe William Roberts, who died in 1966. She lived in the Rogue Valley for more than 80 years.
Mrs. Roberts was an accountant, working for many years for the local Snider Dairy until her retirement. Prior to that she had worked for a short time for Grange Mutual Inc. Co., in Portland, and for the State of Oregon.
She was a member of the Phoenix Grange and the American Business Women's Association.
Mrs. Roberts was an artist. She worked in oil and watercolors and enjoyed various crafts.
She is survived by a cousin, Mary Costanza, Medford.

Philomena Ann White
The funeral Mass for Philomena Ann White will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Liam Carey will officiate. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park.
Mrs. White, 94, of Medford, died Thursday (Dec. 9, 1999) at Three Fountains Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Philomena A. Gorecki on May 17, 1905, in Pittsburgh.
On June 16, 1922, in Pittsburgh, she married Robert White, who died in 1980. She moved to the Rogue Valley 22 years ago from Meadville, Pa.
Mrs. White and her husband owned and operated various hotels and restaurants in Pennsylvania and Florida prior to moving to Medford.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society. She was known as the "birthday lady of Sacred Heart" as she extended birthday greetings to approximately 700 Sacred Heart seniors. She also cooked the famous chili at the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
She enjoyed reading and oil painting.
Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Defty, Medford, Sally Roberts, Victorville, Calif., and Gloria Poncin, Coral Gable, Fla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Dentice, in 1995; seven sisters and one brother.
