Willard E. Bowdoin
Willard E. Bowdoin, 91, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at this home after a brief illness.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday, April 25, 2005 at College Heights Baptist Church, 1832 Dowell Road with Pastor Charlie Didato officiating. Private interment will be at the Bowdoin Family plot at Granite Hill Cemetery.
Willard was born August 7, 1913 in Klamath Falls to William Elis Bowdoin and Eva Mae Stearns Bowdoin.
On April 30, 1934 in Klamath Falls he married Elma E. Cox.
On August 12, 1950 they moved to Ashland where their six children grew up.
As an independent contractor, he built many homes in the Rogue Valley as well as the Klamath County area.
As a carpenter, he worked at his craft doing small building repairs for friends and family right up to his final year.
He was a member of the Carpenter Local for over 60 years and he received his 60-year pin of recognition from the local union in 2002. He was a long-time member of College Heights Baptist Church. While living in Ashland, he attended First Baptist Church.
He especially enjoyed gardening and also wrote many studies on his research of the Holy Bible.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph Bowdoin of Grants Pass; four daughters, Gail Sparks of Salem; Sue Ann Bjornsen-Pender of Grants Pass; Elaine Butler of Medford; and Carol Jury of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Warren Bowdoin of Grants Pass; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Leroy Bowdoin and three sisters, Arla Potter Schimpf; Virginia Bryant Burner Ward and Thyra Bryant Quick Mattson.
Anna Marie Durbin
Anna Marie Durbin, 76, of Medford, died Saturday (April 16, 2005) at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.

Jeanne O. Spong
Jeanne O. Spong, 93, of Talent, died April 6, 2005, at Linda Vista Care Center, Ashland.
Family services were held in Kansas City, MO.

Marion W. Hand
The memorial service for Marion Ware Hand will be 12 noon, Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Ashland.
Mrs. Hand, 88, of Ashland, died April 22, 2005 at the Ashland Community Hospital.
She was born December 12, 1916 at Mt. Clemens, MI the daughter of Helen and Ralph Ware.
On January 3, 1941 at Mt Clemens, MI she married F. Ned Hand who preceded her in death in 2000.
From 1967 to 2002 she lived in Wayne, PA where she was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and was active in the Altar Guild and quilting groups. In 2002 she moved to Ashland and became active in Trinity Episcopal Church in both the Altar Guild and Quilting Groups.
A highlight of her life as a military wife was living in Japan from 1954 to 1957.
Surviving are two sons, James Hand of Ashland and Robert Hand of Corona, CA; one daughter, Nancy Hand of Laguna, Hills, CA; and three grandchildren.

Margie Lorraine Goldsmith
Margie Lorraine Goldsmith, age 60, died on April 27th, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Gracelin Terrace Nursing Home in Portland, Oregon.
She is survived by her mother and father, Mildred and Al Cox. One sister, Mary Ann King, of Ashland. Two brothers; Richard White and Jay White of California. Three sons; Allen Rowland of Eagle Point, J.J. White, and Adrian Arreche of Chino, CA. and four Grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, May 2nd, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Gardens in Medford. Officiated by Pastor Mark Anderson of Ashland Christian Fellowship.
Robert Dooms
Robert L. Dooms, 84, of Phoenix, died Wednesday (May 4, 2005) at the Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.

Eileen K. Serlin
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Eileen Kathryn Serlin, 83, of Ashland, who died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at home.
She was born October 17, 1921 in Hudson County, New Jersey and lived in Santa Monica, CA for many years before moving to Ashland in 1992.
Mrs. Serlin enjoyed reading, appreciated nature, and spending time with family. She was an outspoken, independent, and generous person who loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Serlin of Ashland, and Jane Serlin and her husband, Sam Egan of Oakland, CA; three granddaughters, Mary Beth Levin of Washington, DC, Rachel Serlin-Egan of Chicago, IL, and Lorelle Carlley of Oakland, CA; and her great granddaughter, Sadie McDonnell of Oakland, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul.

Wendelin 'Wendy' Wallace
Wendelin "Wendy" M. Wallace, 56, of Ashland, died Thursday (May 12, 2005) at her home.

Donna J. Logan
August 14, 1935-April 27, 2005
Donna J. Logan, 69 of Phoenix Oregon died on April 27, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.
Donna was born in Santa Monica California and grew up in Southern California.
She graduated from Inglewood High School in 1953. She then graduated from UCLA in 1957.
She majored in English/ History and received her teaching credential.
Donna loved to travel and taught overseas in Worzburg, Germany in 1961-1962.
While in Germany Donna made friends with many other teachers that she still remained friends with her entire life.
She returned to California and taught at Leuzinger High School in Hawthorn.
She continued her education and received her MS in Library Science in 1971 from USC.
Then she became the school Librarian at Leuzinger High, where she remained working until 1981.
Donna moved to Oregon in the early 1980s with her mother, Dora Logan.
After living in Talent for a short time, they moved to Phoenix.
Donna started working for the Jackson County Library Services as extra help in August of 1992.
In 1995 she was hired as a reference Librarian working until retiring in August 1997.
She continued to go in as a substitute for the libraries when needed.
Donna met many of her closest friends while working for the libraries.
Donna was an expert at genealogy research and was a member of the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society.
She was a member of Rogue writers Ink were she became the web master for the club.
Survivors include her niece Lorri Gascoigne of Benicia, CA; her nephew Logan Algie, of Long Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother Dora Logan and her sister Pat Algie.
Her family wishes to thank all of her devoted friends that were by her side during her final days.
