Mary Ellen Saralecos
Mary Ellen Saralecos, 64, of White City, died Sunday (Jan. 9, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Myrtle Point and lived in Oregon her entire life. She completed two years of college.
On Aug. 26, 1981, in Reno, Nev., she married Altha "Art" Chris Saralecos, who survives.
Mrs. Saralecos was a registered nurse in the obstetrics department at Rogue Valley Medical Center for more than 30 years.
She enjoyed roses and animals.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Michael, Redding, Calif.; a daughter, Susan Saralecos, Redding, Calif.; a sister, Evelyn Rousey, Tacoma, Wash., and three grandchildren.

Mary Esther Hutchinson
Friends of Mary Esther Hutchinson will share their reminiscences of her at a gathering from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at her home, 340 Ridge Road, Ashland.
Mrs. Hutchinson, 85, of Ashland, died Wednesday (Jan. 12, 2000) at her home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Brookline, Mass., a daughter of Esther and Ernest Cooper. She attended Miss May's School, Beaver County Day School and Parson's School of Design in New York.
On Aug. 27, 1942, she married Andrew Hutchinson, who preceded her in death. They moved to Southern California in 1948.
Mrs. Hutchinson was a decorative artist in decoupage and needlework. She moved to Ashland in 1991 from Pasadena, Calif.
During World War II, she volunteered for the Red Cross where she had a weekly radio spot.
Mrs. Hutchinson enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, dominos and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two sons, James Story, Ashland, and John Maynard, Washington Grove, Md.; a daughter, Lisa Cooper Hutchinson, Monroe, Wash.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Keith E. Kinney
Keith E. Kinney, 89, of Ashland, died Tuesday (Jan. 11, 2000) at Hearthstone. A private service is planned.
He was born Dec. 25, 1910, in Fort Collins, Colo., a son of Leola and Gilbert Kinney. He moved to Ashland in 1980 and to Fullerton, Calif., in 1989. In 1991 he moved to Medford.
Mr. Kinney was an electrician for McDonald Douglas Corp. in California for 33 years.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Lila Reed, Jacksonville, and Kelly Christianson; a sister, Opal Windes, Eugene; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Daniel McKean
Robert Daniel McKean, 76, of Phoenix, died Saturday (Jan. 8, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born April 9, 1923, in Kitzmiller, Md.
On Aug. 27, 1946, in Silver Spring, Md., he married Virginia Lou Clair, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Yreka, Calif., in 1981.
Mr. McKean was a hospital administrator for Siskiyou County in California for 34 years.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for two years.
Mr. McKean was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Robert J., San Jose, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Grace G. Kirk
The memorial service for Grace G. Kirk will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in Conger-Morris Chapel in Medford. Pastor George White of the Central Point Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, Calif.
Mrs. Kirk, 78, of Jacksonville, died Jan. 2, 2000, at her home.
She was born Grace Geraldine Lawler on Jan. 15, 1921, in Rushville, Ill.
She married Howard E. Bovee. They later divorced.
In Carson City, Nev., she married Carol K. Kirk, who died in 1987. She moved to the Rogue Valley eight years ago from Yuba City, Calif.
Mrs. Kirk enjoyed quilting, painting and traveling.
Survivors include three sons, William Howard Bovee, Sandy, George Bovee, Pleasant Grove, Calif., and Robert David Bovee, in Southern California; a daughter, Jacquelyn Blair, Amadore, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Karl S. Johansen
Karl S. Johansen, 94, of Talent, died Sunday (Jan. 9, 2000) at his home. A private service will be held.
He was born Dec. 25, 1905, in Kristenson, Norway.
On June 25, 1955, in New York City, he married Hilde Deichl, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Johansen was a house painter before his retirement. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974 from Mar Vista, Calif.
He enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Kirsten Johansen, Ashland, and Ingrid Johansen, Talent; a son, Roger, Ashland; and one grandson.

Alfred Mills Navarrette
Alfred Mills Navarrette, 81, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 8, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
Mr. Navarrette was a member of the Medford Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne, Medford; two daughters, Erma Baker, Tucson, Ariz., and Leann Thompson, Eugene; two sons, Alfred Jr., Tucson, Ariz., and Vance, Beaverton; a brother; two sisters; and 13 grandchildren.
