Jack August Thomsen
A celebration of the life of Jack August Thomsen will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Medford Congregational U.C.C., 1801 East Jackson St. The Rev. Paul B. Robinson will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. in Hillcrest
Mortuary and Memorial Park.
Mr. Thomsen, 84, of Elko, Nev., former longtime resident of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 16, 2000) at the home of his son, Douglas, in Elko.
He was born May 11, 1915, in Ogden, Utah, a son of John August and Flora (Hornback) Thomsen.
On Sept. 26, 1953, he married Vessa Hess, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas and Jeffery; two brothers, Donald and Kenneth, six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Hoppe Johnson
Dorothy Hoppe Johnson, 95, of Lake Oswego, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (Jan. 13, 2000) at her home of age-related causes. A private service will be held. Interment will be in Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity or to the Boys & Girls Aid Society, 018 S.W. Boundary Court, Portland, OR 97201.
She was born Sept. 25, 1904, in Holdrege, Neb., a daughter of George and Katherine (Strong) Titus.
Mrs. Johnson attended Pine Manor College in Boston and graduated from National Kindergarden College in Chicago, where she taught for some years at Hull House.
In 1928, she married Dr. Walt Hoppe, who died in 1951. They lived in Nebraska, Medford and Portland.
In 1960, she married Lorne Johnson and returned to Nebraska. Following his death in 1984, she moved back to Portland.
Survivors include a daughter, Katherine A. Hart, Lake Oswego; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, George E. Hoppe, in 1989.

Vivian M. Edwards
The memorial Mass for Vivian M. Edwards will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Mission Catholic Church in Jacksonville. The Rev. Carmelo Mifsud will officiate. Interment will be in Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, Calif.
Mrs. Edwards, 80, of Jacksonville, died Friday (Jan. 14, 2000) at her home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1919, in San Jose, Calif.
On April 28, 1956, in Virginia City, Nev., she married Robert Edwards, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988.
Mrs. Edwards was a draft person for the GTE telephone company in San Carlos, Calif., for many years.
She was a member of the Ruch garden club.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Roger Peace, Jacksonville; a daughter, Marlene Diane Landis, Medford; four stepdaughters, Vicki Maher, Christine Rudy, Linda Parliment and Susan Frisbie, all in Michigan; a brother, Raymond Pimentel,
Nice, Calif., a sister, Geraldine Freeland, Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

R. Lee Buller
R. Lee Buller, 83, of San Diego, formerly of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) in San Diego. The memorial service will be held later in Marblemount, Wash.
He was born May 10, 1916, in Marblemount, Wash.
Mr. Buller was a truck driver in the logging industry. He lived in Medford for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, San Diego; a daughter, Drena Jones, San Diego; a son, Neil, Pittsburg, Calif.; a sister, Tootsie Clark, Rockport, Wash.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: California Cremation & Burial Chapel, San Diego.
Rosalie Caudill
The funeral for Rosalie Caudill will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Alan Jackson of Westminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Caudill, 86, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) at her home.
She was born Rosalie Sadie Baland on April 21, 1913, in Portola, N.M.
On Jan. 15, 1932, in Missouri, she married Guss Ewing, who died in 1962.
On July 18, 1964, in Colton, Calif., she married Edward Caudill, who died in 1990. She moved to the Rogue Valley in the early 1970s from Southern California.
Mrs. Caudill was a factory seamstress for 20 years. She was also a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Livaudais-Mapes, Shady Cove, and Esta Nicholas, Medford; two sons, Fred Ewing, Grants Pass, and Olen Ewing, Corona, Calif.; a brother, Archie Baland, Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Wilma Adams, Bellflower, Mo.; five grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
Patricia Kristof
Patricia Kristof, 67, of Medford, died Dec. 31, 1999, in Medford. The service has been held.

She was born Patricia O'Brien on May 18, 1932, in Steubenville, Ohio. She attended high school in Monrovia, Calif.
On Jan. 1, 1954, in Las Vegas, she married Richard Kristof, who survives.
In the 1950s, Mrs. Kristof was a painter and supervisor at Hagen and Renaker Collectibles in Monrovia, Calif. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1960 from Azusa, Calif. In the 1970s she worked at Stan's Market in Eagle Point.
She enjoyed antiques, gardening and music.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Tom, Eagle Point, and Ed, Phoenix; three daughters, Dorie Herndon and Libby K. Sneed, both Medford, and Theresa Duckett, Valencia, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Don B. Wells
Don B. Wells, 78, of Central Point, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. No service is planned.

He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Dayton, Ohio, a son of J. Rowland and Nettie Wells.
On June 30, 1949, in Los Angeles, he married Margaret Houser, who survives. They lived in Los Angeles, Denver and San Luis Obispo, Calif., before moving to Central Point in 1991.
Mr. Wells graduated from Northrop Aeronautical Institute and worked as an aerospace engineer at Martin Marietta Corp., retiring in 1984.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Mr. Wells was active as a Boy Scout and Explorer Scout leader.
He was an avid scale-model airplane maker and amateur aviation historian. His work has been displayed at the Medford airport terminal and the Tillamook Naval Air Station Museum.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Douglas, Des Moines, Iowa; and three grandchildren.
