Kenneth Lee Lowe

The memorial service for Kenneth Lee Lowe will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Temple Church, Central Point. Pastor Glen Tucker will officiate. Private interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Lowe, 66, of Central Point, died Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2000) in Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 6501 S.W. Macadam, Portland, OR 97201.

He was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Reedley, Calif.

On March 6, 1954, in Durant, Okla., he married Jean Dollar, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1992.

Mr. Lowe was a heavy equipment operator.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Lowe was a member of Calvary Temple Church.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and woodworking.

Survivors include two sons, Larry, Eagle Point, and Garry, Dixon, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Howard, McMinnville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 5 p.m. today in Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Ralph Harry Wilson

Ralph Harry Wilson, 71, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wasatch Academy, 120 South 100 West, Mount Pleasant, Utah, 84647, or the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 691 Murphy Road, Suite 236, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born Feb. 16, 1928, in Grand Junction, Colo., a son of Edward Melchoir Harry and Irene Templeton (Bates) Wilson. He attended one year of college.

On June 1, 1952, in Tooele, Utah, he married Beverly A. Flint, who survives.

Mr. Wilson was the owner of a grocery store.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954.

Mr. Wilson was an active member of several volunteer organizations.

He enjoyed traveling, playing cards and the rodeo.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four sons, Melchoir and Jeff, both Bonney Lake, Wash., David, Federal Way, Wash., and Scott, Glendora, Calif.; a brother, Dan, Parachute, Colo.; two sisters, Jane Rasmussen, Napa, Calif., and Barbara Brown, Reno, Nev.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Bill Wilson.

James Simpson

The memorial service for James Russell Simpson will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Rogue Valley Christian Church. Chaplain Patrick Hengen of the Oregon State Police will officiate. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Simpson, 51, of Central Point, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) at a private home.

Memorial contributions may be made to State Police Widows and Orphans Fund, 400 Public Service Building, Salem, OR 97310.

He was born Jan. 17, 1948, in La Mesa, Calif., a son of James and Phyllis Simpson.

On Dec. 27, 1992, in Central Point, he married Judy Hageman, who survives.

Mr. Simpson was an Oregon State Policeman from 1970 to 1997. He was the district criminal lieutenant for Southern Oregon. He was one of the founding members of JACNET.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. He received two Purple Hearts in Vietnam and 13 additional awards for meritorious gallantry in service.

Mr. Simpson was a life member of the Rogue River Guides Association, Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Order of the Purple Hearts.

He was an avid sailor and won first place in the Dead Indian Regata. He enjoyed boating, diving, fishing, antiquing and traveling.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Bryan, Jacksonville, and Joshua, Portland; a daughter, Tonja A. Hageman, Medford; his parents, James and Phyllis Simpson, Medford; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, in 1998.

Rubye Lee Wageman

Rubye Lee Wageman, 87, of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 16, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.

She was born May 23, 1912, in Seminole, Okla., a daughter of Grover Cleveland and Lula Mae (Clark) Hedrick.

On Nov. 2, 1946, in Los Angeles, she married Harry Edward Wageman, who died in 1998. She moved to Oregon in 1947.

Mrs. Wageman was a homemaker.

She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, her home and family gatherings.

Survivors include a brother, Guy B. Hedrick, Medford; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John McKinney Wageman; a brother, Arthur Hedrick; and a sister, Buelah Line.

John H. Hannigan

John H. Hannigan, 75, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 15, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.

He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Detroit.

He married Betty M. Becker, who died in 1968.

Mr. Hannigan was an engineer in the aerospace industry. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Arizona. It was bombed in Pearl Harbor.

Mr. Hannigan enjoyed fishing, bingo, talking and reading.

Survivors include three sons, Chris, Florissant, Mo., Mark, Colorado Springs, Colo., and David, in Michigan; a daughter, Colleen Hannigan, Eatonville, Wash.; and two sisters, Ruth and Dorothy.

Arrangements: Telophase Cremation Services, Medford.

Lindell Carney

The graveside service for Lindell Carney will be at 11 a.m. today in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Jerry Gilmer will officiate.

Mr. Carney, 78, of Eagle Point, died Monday (Jan. 17, 2000) at Roseburg Veteran's Administration Hospital.

He was born June 15, 1921, in Cape Fair, Mo.

On March 24, 1945, in Louisville, Ky., he married Lillie Wymer, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1952 from Missouri.

Mr. Carney worked for Fir-Ply in White City, and for Myron-Root Orchards.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Company E, 15th Infantry, Third Division.

Mr. Carney enjoyed fishing, hunting and restoring old watches and clocks.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Lindell Jr. "Sonny," Eagle Point, and Denzel, Plains, Mont.; a brother, Walker, Crane, Mo.,; three sisters, Artie Hammonds, Martha Jane Dunn and Rose Emmert, all Phoenix; and nine grandchildren. He was

preceded in death by a sister.

Ivan Noel Jackson

Ivan Noel Jackson, 77, of of Kincaid, Kan., formerly of Ashland, died Jan. 8, 2000 at his home in Kincaid. The graveside service was held Jan. 15 in Kincaid Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Allen County Home Health & Hospice, c/o Johnson-Kunkel Mortuary, 217 E. Second, P.O. Box 218, Moran, KS 66755.

He was born March 10, 1922, in Anderson County, northeast of Bush City, Kan., a son of Roy and Sadie (Henderson) Jackson. He attended school in Willow Branch and Selma, Kan. He moved to Ashland in 1942.

On June 6, 1942, he married Margery Adolph, who survives.

Mr. Jackson moved back to Kansas to farm, but decided to return to Oregon in 1952. In Oregon, he worked for Alley Brothers Mill in Talent and Fir Milling and Oak Street Tank and Steel in Ashland. For several years he worked in the construction business, building homes. From 1960 to 1977, he owned and operated Ivan's Automotive Service and Gas Station, retiring in 1977. He returned to the family farm in Kansas in 1994.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany. While serving as a truck driver near Cham, Germany, he volunteered for the mission of liberating approximately 4,000 British prisoners. He captured the German troops guarding them by himself and was awarded the Bronze Star.

Mr. Jackson was a 38-year member of Ashland Elks Lodge 944 and a lifetime member of the Ashland Walter A. Phillips VFW Post 3423. In 1994 he transferred his membership to Kincaid VFW Post 7039 in Kansas. He was a member of the 11th Armored Division Association, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was the assistant scout leader for his son's troop.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Dean, Cincinnati; a daughter, Shirley Johnoff, Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Johnson-Kunkel Mortuary, Moran, Kan.
