Sean David Harrington
The memorial service for Sean David Harrington will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Applegate Christian Fellowship. Pastor Bob Langfield of Calvary Church of Klamath Falls will officiate. The graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Jacksonville Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Jacksonville.
Sean, 10, of Eagle Point, formerly of Klamath Falls, died Jan. 12, 2000, at his home in Eagle Point.
He was born June 24, 1989, in Klamath Falls, a son of Diana and Kenner Harrington. Prior to moving to the Rogue Valley in 1996, he attended Peterson Elementary School in Klamath Falls.
Sean attended Eagle Point Elementary School.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing, dinosaurs, the movie "Titanic," and history relating to the Titanic.
Survivors include his parents, Diana and Kenner Harrington, Eagle Point; four sisters, Sara Harrington-Quinn, and Melinda, Kendra and Hannah Harrington, all Eagle Point; his grandparents, Larry D. and Eleanor Cook, Klamath Falls, and Robert and Genny
Braden, Modesto, Calif. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Harry Waldo Harrington, in 1989.

Thurman C. Ragsdill
The memorial service for Thurman Caswell Ragsdill will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in West Main Church of Christ in Medford. Pastor Stan Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Ragsdill, 91, of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 17, 2000) at his home.

He was born Jan. 4, 1909, in Graham, Texas.
On Dec. 22, 1929, in Lovington, N.M., he married Thyra Caffey, who died in 1995. He moved to Grants Pass in 1948 from Salinas, Calif., and to Medford in 1963.
Mr. Ragsdill was a member of the Park Street Church of Christ in Ashland and directed the singing there for many years.
Survivors include a son, Merlin D., Medford; a daughter, Veneta Lesher, Medford; two sisters, Hazel Johnson, Fresno, Calif., and Eula Burks, Visalia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mary `Jean' Woodcock
The memorial Mass for Mary "Jean" Woodcock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Clifford of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point will officiate. Interment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Woodcock, 74, of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 16, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Mary Nave on Sept. 15, 1925, in Crete, Neb. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1949.
On Aug. 12, 1951, in Medford, she married Walter "Dick" Woodcock, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Woodcock was a secretary for St. Vincent De Paul for many years. She also worked in the advertising department at Bear Creek Corp.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and attended Shepherd of the Valley Church.
Mrs. Woodcock enjoyed traveling, knitting, reading and bowling.
Survivors include three daughters, Bobbette J. Gass, Medford, Terri S. Reeder, Naches, Wash., and Kimberly A. Harrison, Springfield; two sons, David, R., Wilsonville, and Douglas E., Salem.; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers,
Theodore Nave, in 1971, and Edward Nave in 1991; and a sister, Katherine Liggett, in 1975.

Verda Elsie Smith
Verda E. Smith, 85, of Medford, died Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2000) at her home. Private interment will be in Scenic Hills Memorial Park.
She was born Jan. 26, 1914, in Chelsea, S.D., a daughter of Robert W. and Clara M. (Bateen) Smith.
After graduating from high school in South Dakota, Miss Smith moved to Los Angeles. She moved to Medford in 1992.
Miss Smith was an avid reader.
Survivors include two brothers, Gordon Smith, McMinnville, and Loren Smith, Redfield, S.D.; and a sister, Geraldine Wahl, Amity. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Rogers, in 1998.

J. Scott Fontes
The memorial service for J. Scott Fontes will be at 4 p.m. Friday in River Valley Community Church. Cliff Custer will officiate.
Mr. Fontes, 41, of Merlin, died Tuesday (Jan. 18, 2000) at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1958, in Fresno, Calif. He grew up in Lemoore, Calif., and attended Lemoore High School.
On April 7, 1990, in Las Vegas, he married Cindy Wignall, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass from Lemoore in 1991.
Mr. Fontes owned and operated Scott's Auto Reconditioning, which he started in 1992. He also had an interest in trucking and owned and operated J. Scott Fontes Trucking in Grants Pass for several years.
He was involved with Promise Keepers.
Mr. Fontes enjoyed all aspects of racing, Outlaw Go-Kart racing with his son, restoring vintage vehicles, and being involved in pageants with his daughter, Chelsea.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, Andy, Travis and Jason, all Merlin; two daughters, Desi Fontes, Springfield, Mo., and Chelsea Fontes, Merlin; his mother, Lela Fontes, Galt, Calif., his birth mother, JoAnn Avery, Canyonville; two sisters, Stephanie
Richardson, Lincoln, Calif., and Kathy Schwantes, Lompoc, Calif.; two brothers, Steve Hill, Fresno, Calif., and Trent Angle, Canyonville; and his grandmother, Isabel Reddy, Lompoc, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Fontes.

Emily Naomi Harper
The funeral for Emily Naomi Harper will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Chapel in Medford. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Harper, 90, of Rogue River, formerly of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 17, 2000) in Grants Pass.
She was born Emily N. Arnold on Jan. 14, 1910, in Enid, Ohio.
On May 29, 1950, in Fresno, Calif., she married William Howard Harper, who died in 1990. She moved to Medford in 1952 from Glendale, Calif., and to Rogue River in 1999.
Mrs. Harper was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Brownsboro Community Bible Church, the Lake Creek Grange and the Lake Creek Home Extension.
Mrs. Harper enjoyed needlework and animals.
Survivors include four sons, Bill Harper Jr., Merlin, Roy Stock, Redwood Valley, Calif., Darrell A. Stock, Sequim, Wash. and Harold Harper, Oakland, Calif.; three daughters, Rose Marie Minter, Palm Desert, Calif., Patricia May Lowry, Rogue River, and Susan Belle Robinette, Heflin, La.; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother; seven sisters; and one grandson.

David Eben Roberts
David Eben Roberts, 53, of White City, died Monday (Jan. 17, 2000) in White City. No service is planned.

He was born Nov. 28, 1946, in Chicago. He lived in Texas and Hawaii. He moved to the Rogue Valley one year ago from Hawaii.
Mr. Roberts was a custom furniture maker.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970.
Mr. Roberts enjoyed playing the guitar, reading and drawing.
Survivors include a son, Bryan Underwood, Port Aransas, Texas; his parents, John and Pudge Roberts, Port Aransas, Texas; and a sister, Niki Haley, Honolulu.
