Gladys Marie Redford
Gladys Marie Redford, 97, of Medford, died Tuesday (Jan. 25, 2000) at Rogue Valley Manor Health Center. No service is planned.
She was born Gladys Hartley on March 14, 1902, in Burns. Her father managed Webster Ranch, well-known for the pears they grew, on old Jacksonville Highway. She graduated as valedictorian from Medford High School in 1922. In 1926 she graduated from what is now Oregon State University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
On June 16, 1928, in Medford, she married Edward Redford, who survives.
Mrs. Redford taught at Chiloquin High School from 1926 to 1928.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Barbara Redford, Turlock, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Sims.

Verna Jean Arnett
The memorial service for Verna Jean Arnett will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Grants Pass Church of the Nazarene. Pastor C.J. Bryant will officiate.
Mrs. Arnett, 67, of Medford, died Jan. 19, 2000, in Medford.

She was born Verna Jean Higgins on Jan. 8, 1933, in Seminole, Okla.
On Sept. 10, 1968, in Reno, Nev., she married Lynn L. Arnett, who died in 1987. She moved to the Rogue Valley 35 years ago from California.
Mrs. Arnett was a nurse in California. After moving to Oregon, she worked in local nursing homes.
She enjoyed reading, movies, watching game shows and playing computer games.
Survivors include two sons, Buddy Gene, and Brett Lynn, both Medford; three daughters, Sally Ann Roberts, Grants Pass, Cindy Colleen Cobbs, Wimer, and Sandy Ideara Ellis, Austin, Texas; four sisters, Myrtle Powers and Juanita Foster, both Yoncalla, and Luella Gable and Vida Higgins, both in California; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Earl M. Flowers
Earl M. Flowers, 70, of Rogue River, died Jan. 20, 2000, at Three Rivers Hospital, Washington Campus. A private service was held.
He was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Oklahoma. He moved to Rogue River from Southern California in 1960.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Haakinson, White City, Charlotte Flowers, Shingle Springs, Calif., and Joanne Fulton, S. Euclid, Ohio; two sons, Richard, Rogue River, and Victor, San Diego; his father, Earl, Central Point; a sister, Earline Wyatt, White City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lois E. Miller
The graveside service for Lois E. Miller will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Miller, 90, of Bowie, Texas, formerly of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 24, 2000) in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
She was born Lois Marble on Dec. 15, 1909, in Denver.
On March 19, 1929, she married Paul Howard Miller, who died in 1983. She lived in the Rogue Valley for 45 years. She moved to Texas in 1999.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She helped her husband start Final Century Ministries and after his death she carried on the ministry.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Medford.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria L. Swan, Bowie, Texas; and two step-grandchildren.

Betty Jane Jones
Friends and family of Betty Jane Jones will gather at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Madrone Hill Park Clubhouse, 8401 Old Stage Road, Central Point. Private interment will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, 79, of Central Point, died Thursday (Jan. 27, 2000) in Medford.
She was born Betty Jane Jones on Aug. 28, 1920, in San Francisco. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1969 from Paradise, Calif.
Mrs. Jones was an engineer for General Dynamics. She worked on the transformers for the John Glenn spacecraft. Most recently, she worked as a care provider for the elderly in Rogue Valley.
She was a member of Applegate Christian Fellowship.
Mrs. Jones enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter, Sunny Couch, Central Point; two sisters, Bonnie McInnes and Patricia DiGiavanni, both in California; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A private viewing will be held.

Wilsie LeRoy Pruitt
Wilsie LeRoy Pruitt, 95, of Medford, died Wednesday (Jan. 26, 2000) at Three Fountains. No service is planned.
He was born Nov. 11, 1904, in Alpena, Ark., a son of Roy and Lida (Johnson) Pruitt. He had lived in Oregon since early childhood and attended Medford High School.
On Oct. 3, 1931, in Portland, he married Geneva Hurt, who survives.
Mr. Pruitt was the owner and operator of Huson's Fountain, later known as Pruitt's Fountain, for 26 years. He later owned and operated several area gas stations.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Douglas, Medford; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Almus Pruitt.

Grace K. Gibbel
Grace Katherine Gibbel, 88, of Medford, died Tuesday (Jan. 25, 2000) at her home. A private service will be held.

She was born May 24, 1911, in Tonganoxie, Kan.
In 1942, in Pasadena, Calif., she married Henry Gibbel, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Springfield 52 years ago.
Mrs. Gibbel owned and operated the 99 Market in Ashland for 27 years, retiring in 1976.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Wilhelmeni Coulter and Katherine Tompkins, both Medford, and Sandra Maddox, Suquamish, Wash.; a son, David, Bakersfield, Calif.; a brother, Ernest Korb, Tonganoxie, Kan.; two sisters, Ruth Turpin, Grants Pass, and Pearl Tingle, Lawrence, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
