Edith Fern Williams
The memorial service for Edith Fern Williams will be at 11 a.m. today in the First Nazarene Church of Medford. Pastor Bob Roth will officiate. The graveside service will be at noon Thursday in Bonanza Memorial Park Cemetery in Bonanza. Pastor Scott Hines will officiate.
Mrs. Williams, 87, of Medford, died Sunday (Jan. 23, 2000) in Medford.
She was born Edith Fern Myers on March 9, 1912, in Sheldon, Iowa.
On Sept. 17, 1936, she married Verner Williams, who died in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Steve, Klamath Falls, two daughters, Judy Pierce, and Vickie Kasper, both Medford; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may pay their respects from 9 to 5 p.m. today at Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 6420 S. Sixth St., Klamath Falls.
S.B. `Buck' Buchanan
The funeral for S.B. "Buck" Buchanan will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Blackstar of Medford will officiate.
Mr. Buchanan, 82, of Talent, died Monday (Jan. 24, 2000) at his home.
He was born March 10, 1917, in Wapanucka, Okla., a son of Tom and Minnie Rose (James) Buchanan, a member of the Chickasaw Tribe.
On May 16, 1943, in Paso Robles, Calif., he married Doris Marie Greenup, who survives.
Mr. Buchanan was a carpenter in Southern California for 50 years, and was a business agent for Local 944. He lived in Talent for the past 27 years, and worked for the Ashland Water Department for seven years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Larry, Yukon, Okla.; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

Rachel Lee London
Rachel Lee Minor London, 86, of Medford, died Jan. 18, 2000, in Rogue Valley Medical Center. No service is planned.
She was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Clear Lake, Texas, a daughter of Dennis A. and Della Lee (Cox) Minor, the oldest of nine children.
On Jan. 22, 1933, she married Clarence William London, who died in 1978.
Mrs. London was a manpower program specialist for the state Employment Division until her retirement 21 years ago.
She enjoyed her family and studying the Bible.
Survivors include two sons, William Clarence Jr. and Austin Dwain, both Medford; a daughter, Della Jenace London Tilford, White City; three brothers, Johnie W. Minor, Medford, James Cecil Minor, Shady Cove, and Elton Ray Minor, Corning, Calif.; two sisters, Katie Mae Minor Uptain, Shady Cove, and Annie Louise Minor Valdez, Yuma, Ariz.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Selma Starr
Selma Starr, 81, of Ashland, died Friday (Jan. 7, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. No service is planned.
She was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Sheboygan, Wisc., a daughter of George and Marie (Diener) Baab. She moved to Oregon in 1937, and to Ashland in 1943.
Survivors include two brothers, Edwin Baab, Hudsonville, Mich., and William Baab, in Colorado; three sisters, Lydia Schram, Berrien Springs, Mich., Hilda Baab, Marshall, Ariz., and Elizabeth Nifong, Elkhart, Ind.; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Starr, in 1991; a daughter, Joan Silver; a brother, John Baab; and a sister, Edna Kornblith.

Dorothy L. Rockwell
Dorothy Laura Rockwell, 77, of Medford, died Tuesday (Jan. 25, 2000) in Providence Medford Medical Center. A private service is planned.
She was born Dorothy Rudd on Jan. 7, 1923, in Sublet, Wyo.
On Sept. 3, 1949, in Otterbein, Calif., she married George Rockwell, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973 from Southern California.
Mrs. Rockwell enjoyed reading.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sons, Steve, Medford, Andy, Phoenix, Martin, Coppell, Texas, and Allen, Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Victor Rudd, Phoenix; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Francis Elbert Oakes
The funeral for Francis Elbert Oakes will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. The graveside service will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Oakes, 81, of Eugene, formerly of Medford, died Monday (Jan. 24, 2000) at his home.

He was born March 30, 1918, in Grant City, Mo.
On Nov. 16, 1940, in Grinnell, Iowa, he married Viola B. Oleson, who survives.
Mr. Oakes was a warehouse foreman for Pacific Fruit and Produce Co in Medford from 1952 until his retirement. He moved to Eugene in 1999.
He was a member of the Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Club. Rocks were his hobby.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Karl L., Eugene, and Kenneth L., Granite Falls, Wash.; a daughter, Karen E. Oakes, Portland; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold.

Donald F. Madsen
Donald F. Madsen, 73, of Medford, died Jan. 19, 2000, at his home. A private service will be held. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 13, 1926, in La Junta, Colo., a son of Fred LeRoy and Florence (Wiley) Madsen.
On Oct. 25, 1943, in Syracuse, Kan., he married Leota Maxwell, who survives.
Mr. Madsen was a mechanic. He moved to Oregon in 1997.
He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Madsen was a long-time member of the Assembly of God and was very active in his church.
He enjoyed working and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, James L., Fremont, Calif., and Lonnie R., Pleasant Grove, Calif.; six daughters, Marilyn Osborne, Medford, Karen S. House and Maricie Geary, both Tacoma, Wash., Debra Diaz, Stockton, Calif., Dawn R. Scalise, Spokane, Wash., and Kelly J. Bratton, Georgetown, Calif.; 26 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
