Gerald Thomas Zinn

The memorial service for Gerald Thomas Zinn will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield, Calif.

Mr. Zinn, 61, of Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Grants Pass, died Saturday (March 4, 2000) at his home after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501, or to a favorite charity.

He was born June 24, 1938, in Fresno, Calif., a son of Thomas and Velma L. (Pollock) Zinn.

Mr. Zinn was the owner and operator of Gerald T. Zinn Trucking of Bakersfield, Calif., for the past 24 years.

Survivors include four sons, Douglas, Everett, Wash., Richard, Lynnwood, Wash., and Brian and Gerald A., both Bakersfield, Calif.; his father, Thomas, Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Lloyd, Medford; and 10 grandchildren.

Arrangements: Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary, Bakersfield, Calif.

Brittney M. Mallory

The memorial service for Brittney M. Mallory will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Table Rock Fellowship. Pastor Tom Sabens will officiate.

Ms. Mallory, 18, of Central Point, died Friday (March 3, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brittney Mallory Fund (account No. 01983413899) at any Washington Mutual bank.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1981, in Medford, and lived her entire life in the Rogue Valley. She attended Grace Christian School and Crater High School.

She enjoyed watching monster trucks with her dad, music, movies, and writing.

Survivors include her parents, Jim and Dayle Mallory; a sister, Jessica; grandparents Gary and Eleanor Pree, Medford, and Bill and Faye Mallory, Central Point; great-grandparents Lura Davis, Medford, and Duke Sanders, Seattle.

Arrangements: Central Valley Funeral Home, Central Point.

Truett J. Martin

Truett J. Martin, 79, died Friday (March 3, 2000) at Three Fountains Nursing Center, Medford. No service is planned.

Mr. Martin was born May 19, 1920, in Anson, Texas. On Oct. 23, 1942, in Oklahoma, he married Marcella M. Molen, who died in 1992.

He lived in the Rogue Valley since 1946.

He worked in the trucking industry, and retired from Pacific Motor Trucking as a manager in 1982. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, camping and being with his family.

Survivors include a son, Ronald T. Martin, Alamogordo, New Mexico; four daughters, Sheryl Leffler, Central Point, Charlotte Devlin, Medford, Judy Burke, Eureka, Calif., and Patti Graham, Medford; a sister, Dee Wilkins, Medford; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.

Malinda Jane Johnson

The funeral for Malinda Jane Johnson will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Medford Apostolic Faith Church. The Rev. Al Freisen of Medford Apostolic Faith and Rev. Nolan Roby of Grants Pass Apostolic Faith will officiate. Interment will follow.

Mrs. Johnson, 64, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (March 2, 2000) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born March 8, 1935, in Grants Pass, a daughter of Paul Manus and Mamie Irene (Plowman) Robinson. She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life.

On June 1, 1956, in Wilderville, she married Alfred Nathaniel Johnson, who survives.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church and was a Sunday School teacher.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed sewing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Becky Hinkle, White City; two sons, Tim, Medford, and Norman, Corning, Calif.; a brother, Ted Robinson, Grants Pass; a sister, Carol Clark, Grants Pass; and five grandchildren.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Robert E. Allen

Dr. Robert E. Allen, 57, of Los Angeles, formerly of Medford, died Feb. 6, 2000, in Los Angeles. The memorial service was conducted at the University of Southern California. His family and his colleagues at USC officiated.

He was born March 22, 1942, in Medford, a son of Glen and Helen Allen. He grew up in the Griffin Creek area. In elementary school he was active in scouting; he later became a concert master violinist. He graduated from Medford High School in 1959. He graduated from Harvard University and received his medical degree from Temple University.

In 1960, he married Claudia Hoover, who survives.

Dr. Allen was a professor at the University of Southern California and had a private psychiatric practice.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters; his mother, Helen Allen, Medford; and one grandson.

Arrangements: Omega Society, Los Angeles.

Marguerite D. Parsley

Marguerite D. Parsley, 85, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (March 2, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service will be held later.

She was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Nyssa, a daughter of Harry and Marguerite Pratt.

During World War II, she worked with the San Francisco Police Department as a private detective.

In 1948, the family moved to Grants Pass, where she worked for Glunz Photo Studio. Her work included aerial photography with Fred Hale.

Survivors include a son, Del Rasmusssen, Central Point; a daughter, Joanna James, Springfield; two stepsons, Fred Parsley, Lewiston, Idaho and Tony Parsley, Pocatello, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Dixie Peterson, Eagle, Idaho, and Mona Agne, St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Esther Dodel, Lewiston, Idaho; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Abbey Funeral, Medford.

Joseph Enzensperger

Joseph George Enzensperger III, 70, formerly of Medford, died Jan. 1, 2000, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The memorial service was held at the marina where he lived. His son, Joseph IV and his daughter, Elizabeth Idlewine, officiated. His family will scatter his ashes in the San Juan Straits of Washington.

He was born Dec. 30, 1929, in San Diego. He was a charter member of the Sausalito Yacht Club at the age of 16. He graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1947 and from the University of California in 1951.

In 1951, he married Maude Liddell, who survives. They moved to Medford in 1965.

Mr. Enzensperger was a salesman for Standard Oil Company. He was transferred to San Francisco in 1968, but moved back to Medford in 1971, where he purchased Medford Moving and Storage Co. He later founded Thunderballs West, a boat distributorship. He retired in 1977 to pursue a lifelong dream to purchase a "world cruiser" and spend his days sailing.

He served in the U.S. Navy as an officer during the Korean War.

Mr. Enzensperger was an avid gun collector. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and storytelling.

Survivors include a son, Joseph IV, Oroville, Wash.; two daughters, Janet E. Steele, Bend, and Elizabeth Idlewine, Brush Prairie, Wash.; and his former wife, Maude L. Enzensperger, Bend.

Arrangements were handled in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Christi Jo House

The memorial service for Christi Jo House will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Upper Rogue Full Gospel Fellowship in Eagle Point. Pastor William Boatwright will officiate.

Mrs. House, 26, of Trail, died Wednesday (March 1, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to Doernbecher's Childrens Hospital, 3181 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201.

She was born Sept. 26, 1973, in Springfield, a daughter of James and Ina Proctor. She attended North Medford High School.

On Aug. 5, 1997, in Trail, she married Jeff House, who survives. She lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.

Mrs. House was a member of the Keno Open Bible Church in Keno.

She enjoyed reading, playing games, the outdoors, fishing and camping.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Gart Burkett, Central Point, and Branden House, Klamath Falls; her parents, James and Ina Proctor, Shady Cove; two brothers, Tim Proctor, Phoenix, and Keith Proctor, Klamath Falls; and her grandmother, Catherine McCoy, Boise, Idaho. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ina-mae Lindsay, Cheryl Lindsay, and Kay Proctor.
