Theresia Barbara Lee
The memorial service for Theresia Barbara Lee will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church at the Hope Presbyterian Church, 515 Broadway, Rogue River.
Mrs. Lee, 83, of Rogue River, died Tuesday (May 16, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Saskatchewan, Canada, a daughter of Adam and Lena (Leitner) Hornung.
On Jan. 25, 1968, in Fort Stockton, Texas, she married Elmer O. Lee, who survives.
Mrs. Lee was a practical nurse in Canada. She was also the owner and operator of the Ocean View Sanitarium in Santa Monica, Calif., and the Town and Country Motel in Fort Stockton, Texas, retiring in 1968. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1990 from Palm Desert, Calif.
She was a member of Our Lady of the River Catholic Church, and the Rogue River Women’s Fire Department Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lee enjoyed needlepoint, collecting art work, antiques and golf.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a stepdaughter, Becky Guerra, San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Allan Hornung, Rogue River; a sister, Helen Somers, Las Vegas; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Charles K. Hughes
A private memorial service will be held for Charles Keighley Hughes.
Mr. Hughes, 85, of Medford, died Friday (May 19, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1915, in Vineland, N.J.
On June 23, 1958, in Seattle, he married Mary Ellen Magnuson, who preceded him in death. He had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1989.
He worked as an aeronautical engineer and helped design helicopters for Caman Aircraft in Connecticut and the Glenn L. Martin Co. in Baltimore. In 1950 he moved to Seattle, where he spent the remainder of his career in aeronautical sales at Boeing Aircraft.
He was active in the Order of DeMolay as a young man and was a member of the American Helicopter Society. He enjoyed woodworking, and his affection for design and detail was evident in his intricate carvings.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Massey, Knutsford, England, Lori Garfield, Medford, and Beverly Gerrish, Denver; a sister, Elizabeth Meyer, Houston, Texas; a brother, William Hughes Jr., Vineland, N.J.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Randy Hammericksen
The memorial service for Mail Tribune sports columnist Randy Hammericksen will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the North Medford High School gym. Kelly Rasmussen and Brad Bills of Campus Life will officiate.
Mr. Hammericksen, 53, died Thursday (May 18, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the journalism scholarship fund being created in his name. Details will be announced next week.
He was born Mark Randall Hammericksen, Dec. 22, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Mark Edward and Helen June Hammericksen.
The family moved to Albany when he was in the second grade. He attended Albany public schools and was graduated from Albany Union High School in 1965. He attended Contra Costa College in San Pablo, Calif., before transferring to Oregon State University in Corvallis, where he graduated.
On April 3, 1970, in Corvallis, he married Beth Mary Vandehey, who survives.
Mr. Hammericksen was sports editor at the Mail Tribune from August 1987 until the fall of 1996, when he became the primary sports columnist. He worked at the Oceanside, Calif., Blade-Tribune, Corvallis Gazette-Times and Eureka Times-Standard before coming to Medford.
For more than 20 years he coached basketball for YMCA Y-ball and AAU teams. He enjoyed spending time with his family and with his dogs. He also enjoyed sports, especially golf and basketball.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five daughters, Denice Hammericksen Roe, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Rani Hammericksen, Melanie Hammericksen, Melissa Hammericksen and Keri Hammericksen, all of Medford; three sons, Jamie, Klamath Falls, and Corey and Aaron, both of Medford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cheryl Iverson.

Michael Claude Bellone
Michael Claude Bellone, 69, of Ashland, died Wednesday (May 17, 2000) at his home. No service is planned.

He was born July 16, 1930, in Senezelles, France.
Mr. Bellone was a self-employed antique appraiser. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1988 from Santa Barbara, Calif.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and painting.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd G., Blenheim, Ontario, Canada, and Eric M., Santa Barbara, Calif.; a daughter, Marlene Van, Pacifica, Calif.; a brother, John, London, Ontario, Canada; and one grandchild.

Walter "Paul" Phillips
The funeral for Walter "Paul" Phillips will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Grants Pass. The Rev. Tom Simons of the Church of Christ will officiate. Committal will follow at 1 p.m. at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Phillips, 82, of Medford, died Thursday (May 18, 2000) at his home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1918, in St. Joseph, Mo.
On May 12, 1939, in St. Joseph, he married Evelyn Maurine Smith, who survives.
Mr. Phillips was an auto mechanic. He worked 32 years at the Grand Central Garage Co. and the Biltmore Garage in Los Angeles.
In 1978, he and his family moved to Grants Pass, where he worked as a mechanic for the city. He moved to Medford in 1996.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Phillips was an active member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed helping others, music, singing and teaching.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Paulette Morgan, Medford; a brother, Norman Phillips of Banning, Calif.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Carl `Ralph' Moore
Carl "Ralph" Moore, 81, of Medford, died Wednesday (May 17, 2000) in Medford.
The memorial service for Carl "Ralph" Moore will be at noon Monday at Cornerstone Christian Church in Medford.

He was born March 29, 1919, in Ila, Ga.
On Feb. 13, 1943, in St. Louis, he married Irma M. Devine, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1952 from Ventura, Calif.
Mr. Moore and his wife owned and operated Moore's Patio & Toys. They later added swimming pools and supplies and renamed the business Moore's Patio & Pools. They also operated Moore's Bicycle Shop.
Mr. Moore was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was an avid sports fan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Stan, Medford, and Terry, Hugo; a daughter, Mary Conrad, Portland; a brother, Joe, Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Cecile Harris, Birmingham, Ala., and Virginia Smith, Gadsden, Ala.; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by three infant sons.

Arra May Zuiderweg
Arra May Zuiderweg, 90, of Ashland, died Thursday (May 18, 2000) at Ashland Community Hospital. Private inurnment will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park, Escondido, Calif.
She was born Oct. 18, 1909, in Caney, Okla., a daughter of James Tigert and Arra Bella Columbus O'dell.
She married Berendt Zuiderweg, who died in 1990. They moved to Medford in 1972 and to Escondido, Calif., in 1990. She returned to Ashland following her husband's death.
Mrs. Zuiderweg was a member of Roxy Ann Grange.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Brunston, Ashland; two sons, Virgil Woodward, Grand Junction, Colo., and John Woodward, Costa Rica; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.
