Irene Letha Williams
The graveside service for Irene Letha Williams will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford. Pastor Rick Burns of the First Baptist Church in Medford will officiate.
Mrs. Williams, 93, of Portland, formerly of Eagle Point, died Wednesday (June 7, 2000) in Portland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Hood Hospice, P.O. Box 1269, Sandy, OR 97055.
She was born Irene Letha Young on July 11, 1906, in Wheatland, Calif.
On Aug. 2, 1924, in Corvallis, she married James J. Williams, who died in 1980. She lived in the Rogue Valley for more than 40 years. She moved to Portland in 1991.
Mrs. Williams enjoyed reading, needlework, flowers and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Louise Sears, Portland; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Henry F. Young and James A. Young.

Max Royster Bray
Max Royster Bray, 88, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Medford, died May 30, 2000 in Phoenix, Ariz. The memorial service was held June 3 at Hansen Mortuary in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born May 21, 1912, in The Dalles, a son of Dr. Jouett P. and Bernice A. Bray. He graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1932. During high school he worked for the Groceteria in Medford.
Mr. Bray owned Bray Optics and Ad-Astra Telescopes, and was a co-partner of the Vega Bray Observatory in Benson, Ariz.
His work involved precision optics. He manufactured optics and systems for military and aerospace applications for more than 60 years. Among his many optical projects was the all-beryllium camera which flew in Mariner IV in 1965, taking the first flyby pictures of the planet Mars. He was renowned for his Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes.
He enjoyed helping young people.
Mr. Bray is survived by his wife, Myrtle Irene, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Wade Russell Bray; two brothers, Robert A., Redding, Calif., and Dr. William D., Claremont, Calif.; and two sisters, Peggy R. George, Ashland, and Nancy E. Robinson, in Connecticut. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Philip, Eugene, Paul, Lee and Charles; and one sister, Kathleen Lundy.

Evelyn Wilkins
Evelyn Wilkins, 89, of Central Point, died Tuesday (June 6, 2000) at Northridge Assisted Living Center. A private memorial service will be held.
She was born March 19, 1911, in Chicago.
In 1936, she married Harry G. Wilkins, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Wilkins enjoyed bowling, antique cars and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Bill, Central Point; a daughter, Bette Marton, Central Point; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson.

Caleb Ian Nehf
The memorial service for Caleb Ian Nehf will be at 10 a.m. today at Applegate Christian Fellowship in Ruch. Pastors Web Staunton and Mark Skudstad will officiate. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Laurel Cemetery in Cave Junction.
Caleb, 14, of Murphy, died Monday (June 5, 2000) at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.

He was born Aug. 26, 1985, in Grants Pass and was adopted as a baby by Dean and Darla Nehf. He lived in the Illinois Valley area until he was 5 years old, when he and his family moved to the Murphy area.
Caleb attended the Applegate Christian Fellowship in Ruch.
Survivors include his parents, Dean and Darla Nehf, Murphy; three brothers, Samuel, Jeremy and Joseph Nehf; and a sister, Crissy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Justin, in 1982; his grandmother, Juanita Barkley, in 1986; and his grandfather, James S. Barkley, in 1979.

Genivra F. Van Gordon
The funeral for Genivra France Van Gordon will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Clifford will officiate. The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mrs. Van Gordon, 79, of Medford, died Wednesday (June 7, 2000) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Norfolk, Neb., a daughter of Harry and Yvonne LaFontaine.
On June 7, 1947, in Montebello, Calif., she married John M. Van Gordon, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1997 from Santa Barbara, Calif.
Mrs. Van Gordon was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Holy Cross Altar Society and the Our Ladies of Sorrow Society in Santa Barbara.
Mrs. Van Gordon enjoyed raising French Lop rabbits, crafts and reading.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Jeannine LaRouche, Medford, Ginette Van Gordon, Greenfield, Calif., and Claudette Van Gordon-Finzel, Vallejo, Calif.; a son, Michel Van Gordon, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

JoAnn K. Parker
The memorial service for JoAnn K. Parker will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dallas Mortuary Chapel, Dallas, Ore.
Mrs. Parker, 56, of Dallas, formerly of Medford, died Tuesday (June 6, 2000) in Salem.
She was born Jan. 29, 1944, in Trenton, N.J., a daughter of Theodore and Helen Solarski. She was raised in Trenton, N.J.
On Oct. 16, 1965, in Trenton, N.J., she married Ronald Parker, who survives. She moved to Palmdale, Calif., in 1969 and to Medford in 1980.
Mrs. Parker was a computer tape librarian for Harry and David Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She moved to Dallas in July 1999 to be closer to her family.
She enjoyed painting, art, gardening and taking care of her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Denise Lambert, Salem; a brother, William Solarski, Robbinsville, N.J.; two sisters, Mary Herbert, Trenton, N.J., and Alice Growchowski, Barnegat, N.J.; and two grandchildren.

Steven Henry Blondeel
The memorial service for Steven Henry Blondeel will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Medford First Assembly of God. Pastor Joel Williams will officiate.
Mr. Blondeel, 41, of Medford, died May 30, 2000, at his home.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Blondeel, Chicago; two sisters, Debra Remec, Chicago, and Susan Stochdreher, San Antonio; and a brother, Daniel, Thornton, Ill.

Jack Earl Suther
The cryptside service for Jack Earl Suther will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Don Farnsworth of Southwest Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
Mr. Suther, 77, of Medford, died Thursday (June 8, 2000) in Medford.

He was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Sulphur, Okla., a son of Clarence and Edna (Goldberg) Suther. He attended Hight School in Sulfur, Okla.
On Sept. 23, 1979, in Elko, Nev., he married Juanita E. Berry, who survives. He moved to Medford 21 years ago from Chowchilla, Calif.
Mr. Suther was a long-haul truck driver for 60 years in California, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene in Medford.
Mr. Suther enjoyed fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Ronald and Allen, both Fresno, Calif.; three daughters, Helen Putman, Spokane, Wash., Kathy Parker, Cheney, Wash., and Joann Doser, Vacaville, Calif.; two brothers, Larry, White City, and Alfred, San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Marge Wood, Tacoma, Wash., and Frances McGhee, San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis.
