Scott David Crawford
Scott David Crawford, 43, of Grants Pass, died May 29, 2000, at Three Rivers Community Hospital and Health Center, Dimmick Campus. A private service will be held. Private interment will be in Wilson Cemetery in Chiloquin.

He was born April 30, 1957, in Klamath Falls, and was raised in Central California and Southern Oregon. He attended Rogue River High School and what is now Southern Oregon University in Ashland.
Mr. Crawford was an editor for newspaper and book publishing companies.
He was an accomplished guitarist and writer, and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sammie and Arlen David, Ben Lomond, Calif.; his stepmother, Claudia Crawford, Grants Pass; three sisters, Joyce Feigner, LeeAnn Bracken, and Laura Gilley; four brothers, Bill Crawford, Philip Crawford, Randy David and Christopher David. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Crawford Sr.

Donald B Haynes
Donald B Haynes, 53, of Medford, died Friday (June 2, 2000) in Portland. A private memorial service will be held.
He was born Jan. 25, 1947, in Grants Pass.
Mr. Hayes was a semi truck driver, retiring in 1999.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Brent Haynes, Medford, and Ron Johnson, Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Mona Johnson, Fort Worth, Texas; his mother, Opal Haynes, Medford; three sisters, Lavonna Samek, Medford, Annie Davis, Applegate, and Mary Medeiros, Sheridan; and two grandchildren.

Diane Helen Small
A celebration of the life of Diane Helen Small will be at noon Saturday at TouVelle State Park.
Mrs. Small, 46, of Eagle Point, died Friday (June 2, 2000) at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born May 13, 1954, in Roseburg, a daughter of Calvin and Anita Christensen. She graduated from Roseburg High School and attended two years of college.
On Sept. 25, 1977, in Glide, she married Richard Small, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1993.
Mrs. Small worked in the printing industry for 25 years, retiring in 1998.
She enjoyed working with stained glass, woodcarving, weaving and her dogs.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Sarah Small, Portland; her mother, Anita Christensen, Glide; two sisters, Sonia Smith, Springfield, and Mary Bard, Sewell, N.J.; and a brother, Dan Christensen, Ketchikan, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her father, in 1981; and a granddaughter, in 1998.

Nina J. Akins
Nina J. Akins, 72, of Fallon, Nev., formerly of Medford, died Monday (June 5, 2000) at her home. No service is planned.
She was born June 14, 1927, in Pendleton, a daughter of William and Nina (Strand) Shumate.
She married Franklin Akins, who survives. They moved to Nevada 1½ years ago from Medford, but continued to spend part of each year in the Rogue Valley.
Mrs. Akins was self-employed.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Erwin, Fallon, Nev., and Charles, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; her mother, Nina Shumate, Medford; two brothers, Bill Shumate, Houston, and Joe Shumate, Oro Grande, Calif.; a sister, Francis, McCaleb, Medford; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Helen B. Roper
The memorial service for Helen B. Roper will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Alan Jackson will officiate.
Mrs. Roper, 81, of Medford, died Saturday (June 3, 2000) at her home.

She was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Klamath Falls. She moved to the Rogue Valley 37 years ago from Klamath Falls.
In 1942, she married Bob A Longueville, who died in 1953.
In 1955, she married Jack R. Roper, who died in 1992.
Mrs. Roper was a high school math teacher. She taught at Klamath Union High School from 1954 to 1963, when she moved to Medford. From 1963 until her retirement in 1981, she taught high school math at Medford Senior High School.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, PEO, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Mended Hearts.
She enjoyed gardening, singing in the church choir and after her retirement, she enjoyed tutoring students in mathematics.
Survivors include three daughters, Cecille Moore, Phoenix, Niki Jeffries, Eugene, and Betty Phillips, Corvallis; a brother, Julian Ager, Klamath Falls; and three grandchildren.

Edna L. Stallings
The graveside service for Edna L. Stallings will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Bishop Roger Hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford 6th Ward, will officiate.
Mrs. Stallings, 94, of Medford, died Saturday (June 3, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1905, in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Rulon and Martha (Williams) Seegmiller. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1923 from Ogden, Utah.
On March 21, 1928, in Salt Lake City, she married Elmo D. Stallings, who died in 1964.
Mrs. Stallings was a homemaker.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Medford 6th Ward.
Mrs. Stallings enjoyed nature, music and playing the piano.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Rulon, Medford; a daughter, Claudine Trimble, Medford; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters; one brother; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.
Theresa D. Fredenburg
Theresa D. Fredenburg, 71, of Medford, died Sunday (June 4, 2000) at her home. No service is planned.

She was born May 13, 1929, in Portland. She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life.
Ms. Fredenburg was the president of the PTA while her children were in school, and a Cub Scout den mother.
She enjoyed watching sports, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Don, James and Eric, all Medford; two daughters, Elizabeth Howard, White City, and A. Christine Fredenburg, Eugene; a brother, Robert P. Ross, Henderson, Nev.; and eight grandchildren.
