Anita L. Shepherd
The memorial service for Anita L. Shepherd will be at 11 a.m. today at Joy Christian Fellowship in Medford.
Mrs. Shepherd, 59, of Talent, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 2, 1940, in Port Angeles, Wash.
On Feb. 28, 1987, in Phoenix, she married David Shepherd, who survives.
Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker.
She enjoyed crocheting and made a variety of dolls and other crocheted items. She was also an avid Nascar and Atlanta Braves fan.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Gene Pelham, Creswell, and Eddie Pelham and Dave Shepherd Jr., both Medford; a sister, Kathy Ashbar, Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald E. and Mabel Drake.

Judith ‘Judy’ K. Casad
The graveside service for Judith "Judy" K. Casad will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Casad, 51, of Medford, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) at Oregon Health Sciences University.

She was born Judith Franklin on Sept. 14, 1948, in Medford. She graduated from Medford High School in 1966 and from Merrit Davis Business College in Medford in 1967. She lived in the Rogue Valley all her life
On April 19, 1968, in Medford, she married Bob Casad, who survives.
Mrs. Casad was a past president of the PTA.
She enjoyed crafts and helping children.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Heidi Sanger, Central Point, Laurie Casad, Medford, and Carrie Potts, Beaverton; a son, Drew, Medford; her mother, Harriett Blum, Sequim, Wash.; a sister, Diane Zimmer, Port Angels, Wash.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father.

Willis George Gilman
The graveside service for Willis Glennwood George Gilman will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford.
Mr. Gilman, 78, of Medford, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

He was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Mellette, S.D., a son of James Edwin and Ellen Gilman.
On April 12, 1947, in Medford, he married Phyllis J. Thomas, who survives.
Mr. Gilman worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps, Camp White Construction, and as a truck driver delivery man for Pacific Fruit and Produce.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Mr. Gilman enjoyed his family, music and composing songs, his collections and tending his roses.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Glenn E., Medford; a daughter, Sheila J. Loughary, Fields Landing, Calif.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Susan Ambrose, Ida McDole, Angeline Weber and Margaret Gust; and five brothers, David, Elmer, Robert, Wesley and Ivan Gilman.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Perl Funeral Home at Skskiyou Memorial Park, Medford.
Gerald Alan Whiteford
Gerald Alan Whiteford, 73, of Central Point, died Sunday (June 25, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
He was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Los Angeles, a son of George LeRoy and Helen Whiteford.
On Jan. 21, 1950, in Santa Monica, Calif., he married Betty Lee Larken, who survives.
Mr. Whiteford was a self-employed electrician. He moved to the Rogue Valley from California in 1989.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Whiteford enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Victoria Whiteford, Central Point; a son, Michael, Central Point; two brothers, Fred, Albany, and Robert, Orange County, Calif.; and a sister, Betty Scott, Albany.

Sherry Lynn Scales
Sherry Lynn Scales, 47, of Central Point, died June 23, 2000, at Providence Medford Medical Center. No service is planned.
She was born Jan. 20, 1953, in Medford, a daughter of Lawrence and Bertha (Stone) Giles Jr., and lived in Oregon all her life. She completed two years of college.
Ms. Scales was an accountant.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, and music.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Scales, Central Point; her mother, Bertha Gray, White City; her stepfather, William Gray, Eagle Point; and a sister, Laura Brown, Chicago. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Giles Jr.

Carmen E. Dumas
Carmen Elizabeth Dumas, 77, of Laguna Hills, Calif., formerly of Central Point, died June 5, 2000, in California of cardiorespiratory arrest.
She married Joseph Dumas, who died in 1995. They moved to Central Point in 1973 from Sunland, Calif. After suffering a stroke in December, she moved to Laguna Hills, Calif. to be near her family.
Mrs. Dumas was a member of the Bear Creek Golf Club for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Francine Barker; three sons, Gary, Thomas and Bryan; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Maxine Eula Hudson
The graveside service for Maxine Eula Hudson will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hudson, 81, of Medford, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Covington, Okla., a daughter of Issac and Nora Fortney.
On March 6, 1956, in Los Angeles, she married Harry B. Hudson, who survives.
Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker. She moved to the Rogue Valley 25 years ago from Saugus, Calif.
She enjoyed roses and working in the garden.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a brother, Jack L. Fortney, Neosho, Mo.
