Kathleen E. McAllister
The funeral for Kathleen Euphemia McAllister will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel.
Mrs. McAllister, 82, of Central Point, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
She was born Jan. 13, 1918, in Barnes County, N.D., a daughter of John and Florence (VanHorn) McKay. She completed two years of college.
On April 17, 1965, in Reno, Nev., she married Shelby B. McAllister, who died in 1998. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Las Vegas in 1999.
Mrs. McAllister was a beautician and a landlord.
She enjoyed RVing and traveling.
Survivors include two stepsons, Mark McAllister, Eureka, Calif., and Scott McAllister, Sutherlin; a stepdaughter, Nancy Hilliard, Monrovia, Calif.; and a sister, Florence Summerfield, Central Point. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Chapel, 2201 N. Phoenix Road, Medford.

Virginia May Purdy
Virginia May Purdy, 78, of Talent, died Sunday (July 16, 2000) at Ashland Community Hospital. No service is planned.

She was born Virginia Colburn on Nov. 16, 1921, in Wichita, Kan.
On Feb. 14, 1953, in Studio City, Calif., she married Jack Russell Purdy, who preceded her in death. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972 from Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Mrs. Purdy served as treasurer of the Federated Women’s Club, and as the Talent Library treasurer. She was a member of the Talent Garden Club, the Talent Historical Society, and was involved with Family Community Education.
Survivors include a son, Michael, Talent.

John ‘Jack’ J. Dougherty
The memorial Mass for John Joseph "Jack" Dougherty will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford.
Mr. Dougherty, 82, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 18, 2000) in Medford.

He was born Aug. 12, 1917, in Philadelphia.
On Nov. 25, 1943, he married Betty Jo Southwick, who died in 1983. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1947.
Mr. Dougherty was co-owner of Olympic Petroleum and Equipment Company for 30 years. He later worked as a fruit broker for Sabroso for 25 years.
During World War II, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dougherty was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Medford Elks No. 1168 and the Rogue Valley Country Club.
He enjoyed model trains and golf.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Dougherty, Medford, Teresa Hurt, Tigard, and Jacqueline Dougherty, West Orange, N.J.; two sisters, Eleanor Roken, Philadelphia, and Anne Zolochik, Ridley Park, Pa.; a brother, Robert, Sharon Hill, Pa.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Mary D. Fulton
Mary D. Fulton, 108, of Medford, died Sunday (July 16, 2000) in Medford. A private service will be held in Omaha, Neb.

One of the oldest residents of Jackson County, she was born Mary Dorothy Lovestad on Feb. 2, 1892, in West Point, Neb.
Mrs. Fulton was a ranch cook in Wyoming for many years, retiring at 80, and moving to Shady Cove in 1970 to be near her son. She recently moved to Medford.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eagle Point.
Mrs. Fulton enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include a son, Gale R., Trail; three sisters, Lillian Broderick and Violet Melbourn, both Omaha, Neb., and Mabel Maley, Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.

Alice Agnes Warnock
The memorial service for Alice Agnes Warnock will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Bible Church in Medford. Pastor John R. Page will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford.
Mrs. Warnock, 93, of Medford, died Saturday (July 15, 2000) at Three Fountains Nursing Center.

She was born Alice Amey on Sept. 22, 1906, in Joseph.
On April 7, 1934, in Enterprise, she married Robert C. Warnock, who died in 1974.
Mrs. Warnock was a homemaker. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Elkton in 1946.
She was a member of the Elkton Order of the Eastern Star, the Jacksonville Museum Quilters and Trinity Bible Church.
Mrs. Warnock enjoyed growing flowers, fishing, bird watching and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Struck, Medford, and Colleen Struck, Sams Valley; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Rennie; and a brother, Eugene Emey.

Jon Edward Waggoner
Jon Edward Waggoner, 31, of Eagle Point, died Sunday (July 16, 2000) in Eagle Point. No service is planned.

He was born Aug. 2, 1968, in Ashland, a son of Osa and Carol Waggoner and lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.
Mr. Waggoner worked in local cutstock mills and was a computer program operator.
Survivors include his mother, Carol Waggoner, Phoenix; a brother, Dan, Phoenix; and his grandmother, Alta Knauber, Jacksonville.

James G. Schermerhorn
The memorial service for James G. Schermerhorn will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Park in Eureka, Calif.
Mr. Schermerhorn, 65, of Bakersfield, formerly of Medford, died Thursday (July 13, 2000) in Bakersfield, Calif. after a short battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 5, 1934, in Redlands, Calif., a son of Dessie and Glen Schermerhorn. He graduated from high school in Eureka, Calif., and lived most of his life in Fortuna, Calif.
Mr. Schermerhorn was a log truck driver, for 15 years, most recently with R. B. Brown Trucking in the Rogue Valley. He also taught many people how to drive trucks. He lived in Medford until 1993.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Mr. Schermerhorn enjoyed fishing, traveling, hunting and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Schermerhorn, Bakersfield, Calif.; two sons, Fred Corona, Portland, and Jason Corona, Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Saundra Houchin, Bakersfield; a sister, Barbara Schermerhorn, Ferndale, Calif.; a brother, Roger, in Maryland; and two grandchildren.
