Albert G. Christensen
The graveside service for Albert Gailen Christensen will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka, Calif. The Rev. David Holmquist will officiate.
Mr. Christensen, 85, of Medford, formerly of Canyonville, died Wednesday (July 26, 2000) at Hearthstone.
He was born April 14, 1915, in Bismarck, N.D., a son of Julius and Karen Christensen.
On Aug. 28, 1937, in Roseburg, he married Shirley Hope Nixon, who survives.
Mr. Christensen was a logger and millwright for Weyerhauser in Arcata, Calif. for 20 years. He moved to the Rogue Valley from Canyonville in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Norman Albert, in California and Washington; two daughters, Vivian Shirley Lopes, Brookings, and Irene Evelyn Nixon, Days Creek; three brothers, Junior, Harley and Kermit; two sisters, Vivian Wiegant and Beverly Madison; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Herman Fried
The graveside service for Herman Fried will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Fried, 82, of Ashland, died Wednesday (July 26, 2000) at his home.
He was born March 11, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of Samuel and Pauline (Harris) Fried. He moved to the Southern California area in 1953.
Mr. Fried worked as an accountant for Western Radiator Service in Southern California before retiring and moving to Klamath Falls in 1991.
He worked as a volunteer for the Disabled American Veterans in Klamath Falls. After moving to Ashland in 1994, he continued his volunteer work at the White City Veterans Affairs Domiciliary. He received many awards for his work with disabled veterans.
Mr. Fried was a member of the Magicians Society for the Magic Castle Society of Southern California. He enjoyed magic and performing for his friends.
Survivors include a niece, Sherri Winchell, and a grandniece, Bobbie Winchell, both of Ashland. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

James E. Rowland
James E. Rowland, 73, of Gold Hill, died Wednesday (July 26, 2000) at his home. No public service is planned.
He was born June 23, 1927, in Waycross, Ga.
On March 1, 1947, in Charlton County, Ga., he married Clara Silva, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 35 years ago.
Mr. Rowland served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve.
In the Rogue Valley, Mr. Rowland was a mechanic for Jackson County Public Works, retiring in 1984.
He enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with his family.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, David, Gold Hill, and James, Salem; two daughters, Janet Pierce, Gold Hill, and Claire Luton, Tualatin; a brother, Herman, Gold Hill; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Guy J. Bair
Guy J. Bair, 82, of Rogue River, died July 20, 2000 at Laurel Hill Nursing Center in Grants Pass of lung failure. A private service was held.
He was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Kay County, Okla.
On Oct. 9, 1943, in Vancouver, Wash., he married Clare Schreiner, who survives. They made their home in Twin Falls, Idaho for 44 years and moved to Rogue River 10 years ago.
Mr. Bair worked for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Twin Falls, Idaho.
He was stationed with the Civilian Corps in Hawaii in 1940 and witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He subsequently joined the U.S. Navy and served for two years during World War II.
He enjoyed inventing, woodworking, classical music and storytelling.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Shari and Vicki; a son, Jay; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dwight.

Dick Rietkerk
The graveside service for Rick Rietkerk will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Medford. Chaplain Earl Best of Providence Medford Medical Center Hospice will officiate.
Mr. Rietkerk, 76, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 25, 2000) at his home.

He was born March 1, 1924, in Lyden, Holland.
On Dec. 31, 1953, in Las Vegas, he married M. Ethel Thomas, who survives. He moved to the Rogue Valley 33 years ago from Chino, Calif.
Mr. Rietkerk owned and operated the Table Rock Dairy in the Rogue Valley for many years. After he retired from the dairy business, he worked for Fabricated Glass for 10 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in California.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, George Rietkerk, Las Vegas, and Steve Stevenson, Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Bonnie Armstrong, Talent, Edie Holland, Hesperia, Calif., and Linda Taft, Pear Blossom, Calif.; three brothers, Tony, Ontario, Calif., Ray, Upland, Calif., and Henry, Wendell, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

E. Arlene Brewold
The funeral for E. Arlene Brewold will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. Pastor Lou Schneider of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. The graveside service will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Mrs. Brewold, 83, of Medford, died Thursday (July 27, 2000) at her home.

She was born E. Arlene Childreth on April 5, 1917, in Medford. She graduated from Medford High School in 1936 and lived in the Rogue Valley most of her life.
On Jan. 7, 1938, in Medford, she married Earl L. Brewold, who survives.
Mrs. Brewold was the Jacksonville Highway Water Board secretary for 25 years, retiring this month.
She was a 50-year member and Past Matron of Adarel Chapter 3, Order of the Eastern Star. She also served as Grand Martha and Grand Representative to Kentucky. She was a member of Zuliema Temple No. 13 Daughters of the Nile Patrol, and the Siskiyou Sams Good Sam Club for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Brewold was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving on the Altar Guild for more than 20 years.
She was a seamstress and enjoyed knitting, carpentry and snowbirding.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Patricia A. Watkins, Central Point, and Glenna M. Brewold, Ashland; a brother, R.W. Childreth, Beaverton; a sister, Glenna V. Irish, Medford; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Carl and Homer Childreth.
Friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellinger and Arnold Lane, Medford.
Margaret F. Seaman
The memorial service for Margaret Frances Seaman will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Medford Neighborhood Church. The Rev. V. Lee Gregory will officiate.
Mrs. Seaman, 85, of Medford, died Monday (July 24, 2000) at Providence Medford Medical Center.

She was born Margaret Wetherell on Feb. 17, 1915, in New York City.
On Nov. 25, 1938, in New York City, she married Harold Robert Seaman, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Seaman worked for her parents in a speakeasy during Prohibition. She also raised three generations of her family. She lived in California for 30 years, moved to Nevada for two years, and then moved to the Rogue Valley in 1974.
She enjoyed crocheting, baking, entertaining and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Bob, Medford; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Wetherell.
