Walter R. Lochmiller

The memorial service for Walter Rudolph Lochmiller will be at 7 p.m. today at the Phoenix Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Lochmiller, 86, of Talent, died Tuesday (July 25, 2000) in Medford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oregon Chapter, 1650 N.W. Naito Parkway, Suite 190, Portland, OR 97209.

He was born Jan. 28, 1914, in Pittsburgh.

In 1939, in Pittsburgh, he married May Amanda Schneider, who died in 1997.

Mr. Lochmiller was an engineer for Hawaii Corp. in Honolulu. He moved to the Rogue Valley 26 years ago from Honolulu.

He served as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Lochmiller was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, the Kiwanis Club, the Shriners and the Scottish Rite Temple.

He was a ham radio operator.

Survivors include two sons, Robert, Spokane, Wash., and Walter Jr., Casper, Wyo.; a daughter, Joanne Olsen, Los Altos Hills, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Adelaide B. Dalton

Adelaide B. Dalton, 80, of Medford, died Monday (July 24, 2000) in Medford. A private service will be held. Private interment will be in Del Norte Veterans Cemetery in Crescent City, Calif.

She was born Adelaide Bernice Helgen on Oct. 14, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

On June 15, 1940, she married Raymond Edward Dalton, who died in 1987. She moved to the Rogue Valley four years ago from Chico, Calif.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Bosenko, Medford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Aileen Isobel Bergersen

The memorial service for Aileen Isobel Bergersen will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Roxy Ann Gem & Mineral Society, 2002 Scenic Ave., Central Point.

Mrs. Bergersen, 80, of Ashland, died Monday (July 24, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford.

She was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Seattle, a daughter of Allen H. and Laura D. (Silliman) Shears.

On July 14, 1951, in San Lorenzo, Calif., she married Russell Bergersen, who survives. They have lived in Ashland for 32 years.

Mrs. Bergersen was a member of the Roxy Ann Gem & Mineral Society and the Talent Garden Club.

She enjoyed gardening, rock hounding and traveling.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Martin, Ashland, and Alan, Newark, Calif.; a brother, David Shears, Nevada City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory, Ashland.

Annie Mae Wheeler

The graveside service for Annie Mae Wheeler will be at 11 a.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Peter Slusher of Community Bible Church in Central Point will officiate.

Mrs. Wheeler, 78, of Medford, died Tuesday (July 25, 2000) at her home.

She was born March 14, 1922, in Texas, a daughter of James and Lois (Gilbert) Hartline.

On Feb. 19, 1942, in Valliant, Okla., she married Perry D. Wheeler, who died in 1985. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1956 from Valliant, Okla.

The Wheelers owned and operated Wheeler Shell Service Station in Medford from 1956 to the mid-1970s.

Mrs. Wheeler enjoyed gardening, dancing and taking walks.

Survivors include three sons, James D., Medford, Gary D., Central Point, and Joe, Eugene; a brother, James Hartline, Valliant, Okla.; four sisters, Leona Ellis and Hazel Pickett, both Valliant, Okla., Sylvia Barnett, Oklahoma City, and Jean Stauter, in South Dakota; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Judith Diane Wyatt

The memorial service for Judith Diane Wyatt will be at noon Saturday at Mittendorf-Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in Champaign, Ill. The Rev. Duane Oakley will officiate. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Champaign, Ill.

Mrs. Wyatt, 55, of Urbana, Ill., formerly of Medford, died Monday (July 24, 2000) at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

She was born May 18, 1945, in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of Richard and Jayne (Fikes) Holiday. She graduated from Fallbrook High School in Fallbrook, Calif., and attended Parkland College in Champaign, Ill. She lived in Medford for 10 years.

On Jan. 14, 1972, she married Amos Lee Wyatt; they later divorced.

Mrs. Wyatt was a member of Americans with Disabilities. She was an advocate with the Citizens Coalition with Disabilities, Persons Assuming Control of Their Environment (PACE), and other activities for the handicapped in the Champaign, Ill. area.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Allen, Sidney, Ill., and Donovan Wyatt, Champaign, Ill.; two daughters, Denessa Cox, Delavan, Ill., and Dawn Rusgrove, Champaign, Ill.; her father, Richard Holiday, Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Mona McPherson, Central Point; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jayne, in 1980.

Arrangements: Mittendorf Calvert Funeral Home, Champaign, Ill.

James Edward Hynes

The memorial service for James E. Hynes will be at 2 p.m. today at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Inurnment will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Hynes, 85, of Medford, died Wednesday (July 26, 2000) at a Medford foster care home.

He was born July 22, 1915, in Chicago, a son of Leo C. and Ivy M. (Collins) Hynes.

Mr. Hynes was a carpenter in the construction industry for 37 years, retiring in 1973. He moved to the Rogue Valley 15 years ago from Hesperia, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Dunkley, Mission Viejo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Krell; a brother, Robert, in 1984; and a sister, Gwen Korthof.

Matt D. Cornett

Matt D. Cornett, 76, of Medford, died Wednesday (July 26, 2000) at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The memorial service will be held later at the Cornett family cemetery in Kentucky.

He was born July 2, 1924, in Eversole, Ky.

On Oct. 26, 1958, in Fernley, Nev., he married Billie Brownfield, who survives.

Mr. Cornett served in the U.S. Navy, the Army Air Corps and the Air Force during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam, retiring from the service in 1974. He then worked as a Veterans Affairs cemetery director until his retirement. He moved to the Rogue Valley six years ago from Sacramento, Calif.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Masons and the El Beckel Shriners Lodge in Long Beach, Calif.

Mr. Cornett enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, James and Jack Tucker, both Medford, and Matt D. Cornett Jr., in Louisiana; three daughters, Patricia Archer, in Mississippi; Lynda Castana, Nuevo, Calif., and Judy G. Harris, Citrus Heights, Calif.; a brother, Robert, Jackson, Ky.; two sisters, Lela Saunders, Augusta, Va., and Elvira Kitchens, Hamilton, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.
